Nordstrom Fashion Valley always makes you feel welcomed, especially when you work with Stylist Eddie. He was super attentive to my needs, I had been wanting to get back in to my Stronger Era and he set me up with so many options. Thankfully it was during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale so there a lot of great items at a more affordable cost! Eddie works with your budgets and your needs and really wants you to come out of your appointment feeling well taken care of. I took myself "school shopping" today for the upcoming academic year. I wanted to get a couple of new 'fits, and some foundation garments because a few of mine are looking a bit worse for wear. I shop at Nordstrom a couple of times a year, but I wouldn't say that I'm a regular or anything like that, but I have been a customer at Nordstrom in general for years. I didn't realize it until I got into the store, but the Anniversary Sale is going on now, and a number of new items are on sale, and the prices go up on 8/10. The store was busy on Thursday evening, and I passed by the shoes, bags, cosmetics, perfumes on the first floor, bypassed the second floor, and went straight up to lingerie on the third floor, looked around, and collected a few items to try on. I must've been there for at least ten minutes, and no salesperson said a word to me. Then, when I had a stack of items in my hands, a saleswoman shows up and asked me if I wanted a fitting room started. I didn't because I was still browsing, and I wanted to remember what I had collected up until that point. About ten minutes after that, I went to the dressing room, but all of the doors were locked, and I noticed a different non-sales employee replacing items on shelves and I asked if she could let me in. She gladly did, and I tried on my items. Then I was at the counter, ready to purchase them, and no one was in sight. Then the original lady who had asked if I wanted a fitting room saw me standing there and she was like, "Someone is already helping you, right?" I was a tad snarky (sorry) and I said, "Does it look like anyone is helping me?" And she was like, "Did you try on your items already?" And I said "Yep" and she seemed mystified about how I got into the fitting room. Anyway, she rang me up without further ado, and a couple of my items were on sale, and then I went downstairs to look at some cute work clothes. I had better luck down on the second floor where a few saleswomen acknowledged me, and then let me get on with my browsing. Once I had a few things to try on, Adela let me into a fitting room, and I found a dress and a cute short sleeved sweater that will be perfect for work. She checked on me twice (overkill), and then rang me up when I went to the counter. She was nice enough, but it felt a bit forced. Oh well, I still found items that I like and for that, I'm grateful. I used to be a hardcore Nordstrom customer. For some reason this location has never really hit the mark and my recent visit was no exception. Staff were not welcoming and made me feel like I did not belong from the moment I stepped in. Someone finally helped me with a return and neglected to ring me up for other items I had in my hand. I proceeded to put the items back and leave due to lack of hospitality. Will not return to this location, would rather avoid the judgement and shop online or elsewhere. Free People White Denim Skort - Shockingly Poor Quality Control at Nordstrom I'm honestly stunned at the lack of quality control at Nordstrom lately. I ordered the Free People white denim skort, and it arrived with a large yellow stain right on the fabric. This isn't a small flaw -- it's something that should have been caught immediately before shipping. What makes this even more frustrating is that this isn't the first time. I previously ordered shoes and received a used pair, clearly worn and repackaged. At this point, it feels like Nordstrom either doesn't care what they're sending out or simply doesn't have anyone checking items before fulfilling orders. If I wanted items that were used, damaged, or stained, I would shop at Nordstrom Rack. Customers deserve better than this, especially at full price. Nordstrom needs to seriously address its quality control issues because this is unacceptable. read more

My Son asked me to go with him to look for a Semi Formal outfit for a party he was going to attend. The first place that came to my mind to bring him was Nordstrom. Nordstrom has a lot of nice things. The first floor is always the busiest among the other floors, it's where you see the Shoes, Bags, Jewelry, watches, sun glasses , make up, lipsticks, Mens clothes, and Perfumes, so this is the Busiest floor in Nordstrom. We started looking for his New Perfume, but the selection of Mens perfume is very small here, they have more women's perfumes. We had success shopping here for his clothes and the staff were very Helpful. My son also went looking for his Sunglasses here, I was not really interested in that area, so I went to the Designer bags. I just went looking around 'coz I don't want to get hooked again with these designer bags, I once did a crazy Shopping spree in Beverly Hills and spent over $30,000 plus on designer bags Hermes, Gucci, Chanel, Prada, Versace, Ysl, Burberry, LV, and Fendi within 2 weeks, I don't want to do that anymore. Nordstrom has almost all of those Designers bags, it's very Tempting but I managed to control my self on not buying. The staff in the Bag section are very knowledgeable on what are they selling, I also like that they don't follow you around much, but know right away when you are about to pop a question. So I moved to the Shoe Section looking for my Tory Burch Shoes, I like how when you ask for the size available they will also bring all the colors availble of the shoe you are asking for ;) But while trying on a Shoe, I saw my son done shopping and he asked me if I wanted something, and I said "No I'm just browsing". My Son left and came back with another Shopping bag and handed it to me, I looked inside the Nordstrom bag and he bought me a Tory Burch bag! It's my recent favorite brand 'coz it's Simple and not expensive. My son said he went to the Bag section, pointed me to the salesman, and asked what I was holding the most when I was in the Bag Section. The Man who was working there in the Bag Section has a good memory and helped my Son. I hugged my Son and said Thank you and that I would for sure bring him again in Nordstrom for him to Shop and I will keep touching what I want so that maybe on our next visit to Nordstrom he will buy things for me more ;) Nordstrom has Well organized items on each floor, and there is always staff standing by to assist your shopping needs. read more

This review is for the alterations department at Nordstrom's I took in a jacket that I had bought outside of Nordstrom's to have it altered. I made the appointment online, didn't really get clear instructions on how to connect with alterations once I get there. I ended up standing at the women's dressing rooms, waiting after multiple people attempted to get a hold of them. They gave me a two week timeframe to get the alterations done. They were not done in that timeframe. When I went to pick up the jacket, I realized that they had just taken in the sides and not taken in the darts. This made the jacket very oddly So I left the jacket again paid more money and I was able to pick it up today. Everybody was very friendly. I'm not sure that I would go through their alterations department again. Parking can be a little bit of a pain and the pick up is the same department as online shopping so there's always a long line. read more

Emily and Dean in the men's suit department are amazing! I came in with a suit I haven't worn in years. The pants were too tight and I had a wedding to attend 2 hours later. They immediately took me back and took my measurements. Dean was able to work his magic and had the pants done in about 30 minutes. Pants went from way too tight to fitting perfectly. I'm not sure how he did it but he is awesome and I'm glad I bought the suit from them originally as well. Overall it was 100/10 experience and I am so grateful for the both of them. I've been coming here for years, but less and less these days. I came to pick up an order at Nordstrom right after Christmas, which was definitely one of their busiest times. The traffic getting into the mall and pulling into one of their parking structures did take a little bit longer, but having a couple parking structure options right next to Nordstrom gives you space to park. Unfortunately, I parked in the curbside pick up option but later learned it was turned off (probably because it was between Christmas and New Years) and the line to pick up was rather long. I still lean towards going to UTC since it's closer and it's newer, this last experience at FV was relatively smooth given the holiday season. read more

I had a 30-minute women's alteration appointment, arrived at the 3rd-floor order pickup area. The employees at pick up called the alterations department, seemed to be confusion on what line they could reach them before someone came, and the first woman who arrived only handled men's alterations and told the workers to send another person up who does women's. Eventually, someone named Thomas came and assisted with my alterations, very nice, quick, and provided the quote for my alterations. The employees who assisted me throughout the process and with payment were also very kind. Overall, they should streamline the process and communication for alterations, especially since I noticed another review mentioning a similar experience. read more

What happened to Nordys? They are now the new upscale Fashion nova/Macys. After they were sold it is not the same experience in store or online shopping. My PS is no longer with this company so, there's that. Gone is the amazing and superior customer service. I've been on the online train for a while now, than rather go in to the store just because it's easier. But, last few items I ordered were missing items. Extra studs for my Valentino's were not in the box, Nothing they could do, no credit no replacement, nothing. I wont't purchase from here like I used to, I shop at Neiman way more now. In the intimate department if you ask for a bra fitting the older lady offer to help but did not explain how they do it. She asked to take my shirt off and touched my bra to asked how padded it was. She then asked to try on the ones she gathered in my size. She them waited outside the fitting room asking every second if I was done. She made me very uncomfortable, also had an attitude I found her to behave odly and not professional at all especially for Nordstrom. I'm sure she can use proper training I will never ever ask for a bra fitting again. At the end I told her I no longer wanted to try anything left the store upset and empty handed. read more

I don't typically leave reviews, but I wanted to share my recent experience. The alterations department initially lost one of my items, and it took nearly two weeks, multiple trips back to the store, and several phone calls on my end before it was finally located. While I'm relieved the item was found, the process to get there was frustrating and time consuming. At no point was there an acknowledgment of the inconvenience or an apology for the time and effort it required on my end to resolve an issue that originated in-store. The only reason my item was ultimately found was because of my persistence. I had to follow up repeatedly, as no one ever reached out when they said they would, and I found myself explaining the situation multiple times to different staff members. I do want to mention that one sales associate (I wish I had caught her name) was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the process, and I truly appreciated her attitude and willingness to assist. Unfortunately, my interaction with the store manager was quite the opposite and added to the frustration. As someone who has shopped here for many years, it was disappointing to experience such a lack of care in handling the situation. I used to enjoy shopping here because of the great customer service but I will not be using their alteration services again. read more

I was wandering around trying to do some shopping as I killed some time waiting for my daughter. I saw a few items I wanted to purchase (mainly in the second floor some All Saints stuff for my work woredrobe) and on the hand at section. Both place I walked around and even stood at the counter ready to purchase and not one employee asked if I had any questions or asked if I was ready. It was busy but where I was the employees were standing around chatting amongst each other. It wasn't worth it. In this case, I needed a new look for a specific summer event and everything I was seeing online was not really fitting the mood. This morning I worked with a great rep (Kristen B) in the Men's section at Nordy's. She spent a great deal of time learning about the event, what I envisioned, what my tastes were, and what the climate was going to be like. She then helped me put together an outfit that exactly fit the occasion (and me). I have always appreciated the excellent service at this store; however, my last visit was both embarrassing and disappointing. While I understand that some customers may return items after wearing them, my situation was different. The dress I received was shipped to me in a cardboard box, and the tag unfortunately fell off during the process. I believe the scent associated with the dress may have originated from my car, where I sometimes keep strong perfumes. To clarify, I tried on the dress for less than ten seconds and did not wear it. During my visit, I encountered a lack of empathy from the manager, Isaac, whose demeanor felt dismissive. I was surprised by the absence of a warm and welcoming atmosphere, which I have always experienced in the past. Shopping at Nordstrom has been a therapeutic experience for me after long days in healthcare, and this visit did not reflect that positive environment. Although I recognized that the dress was missing its tag, I did not wear it because it did not suit me. I even informed the staff that I would be willing to donate it to the lost and found, as I had no further use for it. What concerns me most is that Nordstrom should embody a sense of luxury and invitation. I have found that other retailers, including Amazon, sometimes offer comparable items with better customer service. It is essential for customer service representatives to approach every situation with kindness and understanding. I hope that staff training will be revisited to ensure that future customers feel valued and welcomed. BABY DEPT / STROLLERS Review Looking to test out some luxury strollers? The 3rd floor is the place to go to check out and test strollers and carseats. Our friends recommended us there after we had considered buying their old carseat and stroller. We got helped by Heidi Bukowski both times we went. The first time she showed us all the features and definitely knows her way around all the products as she's able to unlock and lock everything back into place with ease. She also knows a lot This location has more models to try out than the other location in the US. Heidi had said this location was their main flagship store in the US and is top in sales. The second one would be in Hawaii. We were eyeing the Nuna - or rather I was. I liked the ease of how less heavy it was, the way of being able to push the stroller, and the easiness of being able to put the stroller (folding wise). So the first time we went, we tested pushing the stroller around the floor and learned about the carseats. There's a different between infant (0-6 months) and other and also different strollers. For carseats, it is better to get them new in store. Carseats expire after a certain amount of time because the materials and parts that keep children safe can wear down over time due to use and exposure to heat and cold. Expiration dates also endure that the seat meets currently safety standards which are always changing. Usually it's 7 years from when it was manufactured that you should look for. The second time we went back to get the infant car seat as I would need it in a few months. Some colors would have to be ordered, but they had the one I wanted in stock (caviar). The manufacturing date listed was 02/2024. We figured it made the most sense as we would want another child in the future. Heidi helped us redeem the gift cards we had. Apparently there's a limit of 2 that you can apply, so she got creative in helping us use the gift cards to help us pay for the purchase. Also if you are looking for bathrooms, there is one on the same floor as the strollers. You would need to head towards their Nordstrom Cafe area where the bathrooms are located. We may come again depending on if we need to get a stroller / other items. Overall we had good experience coming here. read more

Nordstrom is hands down my favorite store. I have never had a negative experience in a Nordstrom with the exception of Sunday. This was my first time at Fashion Valley. My daughter in law and I were followed around in the store as if we were going to steal something. We were in the handbag section when a gentleman worker says, oh, here come the looky loo's. The workers were snobby and judgmental. Needless to say, we were prepared to spend some money, but cut our shopping trip very short. I won't be back to fashion valley Nordstrom. read more

Some of the staff here are incredibly kind and helpful, but others are surprisingly rude. On several occasions, I've approached the counter only to be met with eye rolls or dirty looks before I even said a word. Such behavior is completely unnecessary. If you're unable or unwilling to process a return, a simple, polite "sorry, we can't do that" would be sufficient. Customer-facing roles require basic courtesy, and if treating polite customers respectfully feels like too much, this may not be the right profession. The inconsistent service here makes the overall experience hit or miss, which is disappointing. Unfortunately, it seems that the staff who appear likely to be rude often are, which is both obvious and cringeworthy. (The ones who speak with an air of condescension-- why? $50 Nordstrom gift card from Target that ended up having its access code rubbed off. I went to Target who told me to call the number on the card to get help. That number is Nordstrom customer service. I was told to send a copy of the receipt and a copy of the gift card and you would replace it with an electronic gift card. I did exactly that, and then received an email telling me they could not help me and I'd have to talk to Target. What a bunch of crap. I told them it was purchased at Target and I was told that is no problem. Target is not helping and the last person I spoke with at Nordstrom (Aden Smith), said he can't help me and to submit it again. He was also very rude, cutting me off frequently and was very difficult to understand. I am disgusted with Nordstrom and will never get a gift card from those folks again. In addition, I will tell everyone I see that Nordstrom sucks. I've had to call 3 times to get told no problem... then wait for an email to say they cannot help. Terrible! read more

I think this would be my first and last time going to the Nordstrom Cafe. I came in hoping that I can see what the hype is all about since it was recommended to me. I ordered the French Dip and a Crème brûlée. I got the French Dip within 10 minutes and it was delicious. I give it a 2 star because after that, I waited an hour just to get my Crème brûlée. While waiting, I asked one of the waiters why it was taking so long and he told me that he'll ask our server but never got an answer. As I was about to leave from waiting too long, my server was coming with the Crème brûlée but at that point, I did not even enjoy it out of frustration. I'm writing to share a disappointing experience I had at one of your Nordstrom stores. I came in to have a dress altered that I purchased from Nordstrom Rack online. I chose Nordstrom because of the high level of customer care I've always associated with your brand. Unfortunately, the experience did not reflect that standard. I waited about 15 minutes for an alterations specialist while nearby sales associates talked among themselves. When the alterations specialist arrived, her attitude shifted the moment she realized the dress was from Nordstrom Rack. She made several belittling and condescending remarks, spoke to me in a dismissive tone, and behaved as though my business was an inconvenience. She also mentioned she was leaving for Italy in two days and wouldn't be back for three weeks, which felt unnecessary and unprofessional. In the end, the alterations were not done correctly, and the service cost over $110. I left feeling disrespected and devalued as a customer. I'm sharing this because I believe Nordstrom values professionalism and respect, and I hope this feedback helps ensure that no customer is made to feel "less than" based on where an item was purchased. read more

I am sure there is a method to this madness. There's a bathroom right at the entrance on the first floor from the parking structure, yet the woman's bathroom is all the way on the 3rd floor by restaurant at one end of the store. If you're looking for baby strollers, call ahead, find out when Frank is working, and go during those hours because Frank is the BEST. My wife and I walked in confused by all the options and Frank patiently and kindly walked us through the options, gave us his thoughts, and helped us find the best stroller for us. Today, I was on a mission for a new cologne as my Marc Jacobs Perfect ran out a couple of months ago. Really wanted to try something new and had remembered as a child the wonderful fragrance of an older woman walking by me that smelled like roses. LOL I decided to go to Nordstrom's as I knew I would get superb service which I did and was not rushed at trying a couple of Rose type blends. One of them being Dior which is actually a blend of other flowers not a true rose. I found it to be rather unpleasant. The wonderful staff member Amy was surprised at my response. I asked her again, do you just have just a Rose perfume? Her eyes and face lit up and she said "yes, I have one that has seven roses in it". It's Jo Malone's Red Roses 1 oz for $74. That was with the 15% off. Oh my goodness! What a beautiful fragrance and not heavy. In my mind I thought I was getting older because I liked the smell of roses and then, realized after speaking with Amy that the fragrance of the Rose is really classic and simple. That really made my day. LOL plus 15% off all perfumes. Definitely, not my grandmother's Rose. BTW the Christmas decorations in the store are always so beautiful this time of year. read more
