They filled it as a 1-month supply, but still charged me the full 3-month copay and shipped just one box. When I called to resolve the issue, Kristy R. (Mail Order Pharmacy Rep) flat-out told me it's "not their responsibility" to clarify questionable prescriptions with the provider--that it's entirely on the doctor. That's not just poor service, it's reckless. Pharmacies are supposed to be a safety checkpoint, not a guessing game. It got worse. When I asked her how she'd feel if she were in my position, her response was: "It doesn't matter how I would feel." That level of indifference says everything about the customer experience here. Between the lack of accountability, unwillingness to verify obvious issues, and dismissive attitude toward patients, this experience was beyond frustrating. If this is how they handle something as straightforward as a prescription, it raises serious concerns about their overall service and patient care.

This was literally the worst provider experience I've ever had. I had a visit for my eczema. The Dr was supposed to put in a script for my protopic and a referral to dermatology associates. My script was held up over a prior authorization that was never put through even after multiple calls. No result, no script, no referral. Months went by and I called again. They wanted to see me second time for the same thing. They were supposed to put my script through for my protopic and again, a referral to dermatology associates. Weeks went by after the second visit again, no pre auth was put through and no referral. It took two weeks talking to four different people with NO result. They never followed up on my pre auth or my referral. They refuse to to take care of my bill since they have done nothing for me which resulted in severe symptoms and pain and suffering. I called many times, and complained to the patient advocate with absolutely NO result. I fired my doc and switched providers, and they had no problem putting my pre auth in for my script and actually followed up on it and because they got me my script I have not needed my dermatologist. Mercy primary care does not care about their patients, and are not able to follow through with their tasks which resulted in my medical conditions getting much worse causing me suffering. I had even contacted Mercy through afterhours and left a message that was never opened or followed up on. There is no way to contact the front desk either, it goes to voicemail and they don't follow up with their messages. This organization is so disorganized and dysfunctional that I would NEVER recommend anyone to these practices under this system unless you want to suffer and pay for it.

Honestly the more often I am seen here the more I love it…read more I recently was suffering from a bronchial flu. Like a hideous combo of bronchitis and the flu. I had been in bed for two days and was due back at work but knew I couldn't make it thru an hour of it so I drove to the hospital. It's early afternoon on a Thursday and they had a 3 hour wait in the ER. Well I was absolutely too sick to sit in a waiting room for 3 hours- and that's just to get to step one. So I got back in my car and called Maine Med family practice and found out that they do have urgent care so I could be seen that day at a designated time just by a different doctor- but one with my records on hand. So much better . Seriously unless it's 3am and I'm in an accident I would ALWAYS prefer to just use my urgent care!! So today I had my physical. I received 3 vaccinations and was totally happy to realize the importance of having a regular doctor at a decent hospital. Going over the paperwork they gave me while there I realized that in the last few months they had amassed my entire medical history. I lived seeing shots I received in 1988. I don't have to remember that my Tetanus was due this year. They reminded me. Maybe it cuz I'm from a big city in California but insurance for me there always meant ER visits or clinic visits. Never this personalized care. They called me to set up the appt for my yearly physical. I didn't have to remember. Gotta love that. One less thing on the calendar to set reminders for.

I was actually told I was acting like a bully for trying to explain my case. She became very defensive as I believe she knew I was correct about the bill and transparency. Please do yourself a favor and get an estimate in writing for fillers!.I got one on the phone, but the price ended up being double what I was billed. Don't be surprised like I was! I will never recommend this spa to anyone. Numerous spas in Portland sit down with you and go over a clear plan on what you will pay for your procedures. There is a list online of spas that offer full transparency. (I was told by Cristina that no spas do this. Consumers should not have sticker shock after a procedure. Kathy, one of many medical assistant at that practice, is so sweet and professional. The front desk staff as a whole are nice, but there's one receptionist that needs to work on her attitude. Every time I've checked in with her, she's just very snippy. Maybe she's having a bad day, but I've checked in with her more than five times so I'm not so sure. I think I was most afraid of having withdrawal symptoms, but the staff knew what they were doing and other than being tired, I didn't have many. It was really helpful to be around other alcoholics. They knew exactly how I was feeling. They were very careful about Covid and did an instant test and one that they sent out before they would put you in a shared room. My issues have to do with administrative and billing nightmares. Between my two times at MaineMed facilities, I changed my name legally because of divorce. MaineMed refuses to update that but updated my insurance (with my legal name as of 3.5 years then) and my address but wouldn't update the name change. I have asked them to: 1.) Send bills in the correct name, as I would no longer be paying the bills for someone that doesn't legally exist and 2.) Send me an updated payments against account. It took four months to get that (even though I was promised that it was on its way in a phone call March 6th from a Patient Financial Services person) and it was sent certified mail to the same person who doesn't legally exist. Meanwhile, I have sent two rounds of certified mail to three different MaineHealth offices, including executives. Not one single receipt was sent back to me. (I sent the second set about two weeks ago.) I have told them repeatedly, in writing, that I would not pay on an account that was not legally mine, according to MaineHealth. I did pay some toward the balance, but MaineHealth has responded to NONE of my 12 written outreaches since the beginning of the year. Yet, MaineHealth's Patient Financial Services office has run credit checks on me three times (because the person to whom they address everything doesn't legally exist) and has threatened to send the account to collections, all while taking months to do one part of my request and not honoring any of the others. I also told them, repeatedly, in writing that once these issues were resolved and the name updated, I would send them a check for the balance. I made it clear that not paying the balance was my leverage. It is clear to me that the MaineHealth organization does not actually care about patients, just about money and process. Disgusting organization from an administrative standpoint.
