V needed to get his four wisdom teeth extracted and after shopping around for oral surgeons, I…read moredecided to take him to SF BAY ORAL SURGERY AND DENTAL IMPLANTS. I chose this office after reading the impressive professional profiles of the doctors. The physicians are Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons with notable achievements. Located at 901 Campus Drive in Daly City, a multi-tenant medical office building, there is plenty of free onsite parking for visitors. As you enter the office at Suite 303, you are greeted by a contemporary waiting room with comfortable seating and television, free wifi, and minimal clutter to help lower patient anxiety. The front desk staff are also amiable. On the day of V's oral surgery consultation, Tuesday, January 28, 2025, we met with Dr. Sy in a clean, professional space outfitted with digital display screens used to review scans, treatment plans, and imaging with patients. Dr. Sy provided us with a couple of informational sheets and explained to us the surgical procedure for the removal of V's complete boney impaction of his wisdom teeth. Deep sedation was recommended, which V was opting for. I was in tears, apprehensive of the deep sedation and had A LOT of questions (so many that the doctor asked if I worked in the medical field). Dr. Sy listened to my concerns and patiently answered all of my inquiries in detail, calming my fears and giving me a sense of relief. Following the consultation, we met with the friendly Office Assistant to go over the Treatment Plan Estimate. Surgery was scheduled for the morning of Wednesday, February 26, 2025. I was pleasantly surprised by how quick the procedure took to complete and was even more amazed that V was wide awake and coherent when I was brought back to the room where he was. He commented that he felt like he just woke up from a nap. Wow, are all surgical tooth extractions this easy peasy for patients?? Dental Assistant Adrian was extremely polite and wheelchaired V to the outdoor front entrance where I drove my car to pick him up. We were sent home with clear instructions and medicine times. Recovery was smooth, fast and easy, and the post-op check-up on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 3:15 PM determined that all was good. Dr. Sy and his team turned a scary medical day into a surprisingly stress-free experience. V and I were so grateful for their care. I highly recommend this office and if faced with the need for oral surgery, myself, will not think twice to return to SF BAY ORAL SURGERY AND DENTAL IMPLANTS to be treated by Dr. Sy.

I was initially going to arrive about 15 minutes late, and the receptionist told me they could still see us at 11:20. We drove all the way from Petaluma (about 40 minutes), but due to traffic we arrived at 11:27. When we got there, we were told they could no longer see us. What was frustrating wasn't that they couldn't accommodate us--it was the lack of communication. If arriving at 11:27 was too late, I wish they had told me that when I called or contacted me while I was driving so I could have turned around or rescheduled instead of making the trip. It was disappointing to spend so much time driving with my daughter only to be turned away.

The referral was written in 2019 when I wanted to get braces but I chickened out. Unfortunately, cavities started developing on all the wisdom teeth over the last two years to the point where I noticed my breath did not feel clean even after brushing, flossing and mouth rinse. I decided to come in for a consult to get my questions answered. Dr. Jiries Mogannam provided my consult. He answered all my questions and gave me my options. He explained to me that the wisdom tooth can give me more issues down the line even if I can patch up all the cavities now. His main concern was the oral hygiene of my mouth and to protect the nearby molars from decay that could be spread from the wisdom teeth. He was not pushy, I left informed and empowered to take the next step. Plus, I still wanted braces so it makes sense to get the surgery. The surgery was quick and painless because I was out! I was filled with anxieties the day before and even while sitting in the chair but I knew it needed to be done. I was in and out in a hour. The recovery was painful and that was expected. I followed all the instructions given in terms of oral care and food choices. I survived to tell the tale and I am the biggest chicken out of everybody I know so if I can do this oral surgery so can you! Thank you Dr. Mogannam, the assisting staff members and the front desk! Everyone was friendly and made me feel at ease.

I had two lower wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Lee, about 1 week apart. I highly recommend Dr. Lee…read more Here's the rundown: For lower wisdom teeth extraction, there is always the risk of nerve damage. Dr. Lee has a lot of experience when it comes to evaluating this risk, and he uses surgical techniques to avoid nerve damage. That is the #1 reason why I recommend Dr. Lee for lower wisdom teeth removal. Typically, your dentist will x-ray the tooth, evaluate it, and refer you to Dr. Lee. Ask your dentist to email the x-ray to Dr. Lee. For both of my wisdom teeth, the dentist x-ray was sufficient; Dr. Lee did not need to take additional pano x-rays to evaluate the situation. Very convenient, and it avoids radiation. If your wisdom tooth is an "easy extraction" and not impacted, go for local anesthesia (Novocaine) instead of IV sedation. Dr Lee is great at injecting Novocaine and NOT hitting a nerve. During the extraction, you will not feel pain; you only feel pressure. You can drive yourself to/from the clinic, and there are fewer limitations on eating/drinking beforehand. It's also cheaper than IV sedation. During the extraction, for the lower wisdom teeth, they may use a hammer and chisel to crack the tooth into pieces before pulling out the roots; that is a little unnerving, but not a big deal. Dr Lee is fast; he extracted each tooth in about 7 minutes. Dr. Lee has an assistant in the operating room who is highly skilled; that person does quite a bit of the work (the aforementioned hammer/chisel). It is freezing cold in the operating room. Wear thick pants and a long sleeve shirt. They have a blood pressure cuff constantly checking your blood pressure, so avoid thick fleece/sweaters. For lower wisdom teeth, you'll need to irrigate the socket after eating, for up to 6 weeks; not a big deal, just be aware of it.

Quick extraction, slight pressure but no real pain. Healing great with no issues. Would do it again…read moreif needed Thanks Dr. Lee & Assistant Atalia
