Quite tight seating. Restrooms are not accessible by people with limited mobility. No baby changing stations. The food is okay. The schnitzel was fine and so was lamb. Okay to eat but not memorable. Caprese salad was tasty. In conclusion, if you are passing by and hungry, feel free to stop by. Worth a go if you're looking for a solid Viennese meal. We were able to walk in to get a high table top table but after us there was only bar seating for walk in's. They may seem half empty at times but that's because most tables are reserved. The soup with fried pancakes was delicious. Flavorful soothing broth and the cancels had good textual chewz The tafelspitz was overall tasty. While on its own it can get a bit one note, if you pair it with the sauces and potatoes, it's a wonderful mix. Another fantastic meal at Gasthaus Poschl. Second visit in the past twelve months and it might have even been better. Sad part is we had the exact same meal!!! We ordered the Tortellini with herbed ricotta and asparagus in brown butter sauce with Parmesan cheese and arugula and White asparagus in a browned butter sauce with Parmesan cheese served with parsley potatoes. Both dishes arrived and they were beautiful. They were perfect once again. Totally recommend these dishes when in season. We also had a small green salad that complemented each main perfectly. We were very luck that we were able to get a reservation. And yes we made it well in advance. We saw quite a few people that were turned away. Came here on a Thursday night without a reservation and about a quarter after seven. They did manage to squeeze us in. One of us had the veal sausages with cabbage and roasted potatoes. Cabbages means sauerkraut. It was excellent! The other meal sampled was the fried chicken with potato salad. This spot undoubtedly came up as the #1 affordable restaurant in Vienna on Yelp, didn't it? And that's probably why you're reading my English review right now, as an American. We tried to come here after checking into our hotel, but sadly they were booked for the evening. So we returned the following day and were able to have an early dinner here. It's very low-key and minimalist in decor, and would remind me of some of the hip wine bars in the US if the lighting wasn't so bright. We got a cute spot next to the front window, and the lighting was even less necessary, as the sun was still out for the majority of our meal. The service was friendly, and we were glad to again be treated kindly although our family only spoke English. Our server was attentive, and we didn't go long without having anything we wanted. By this point of the trip I had already grown tired of meat, cheese, and gravy, so just like at the other restaurant in Vienna, I opted for something different. Here I chose the pumpkin raviolis, which came with a side salad. I had learned from my ignorance in ordering beer from the previous wine bar we had eaten at, and opted for a glass of red wine here. We ended with the cream cheese dumplings with plum stew. After going four days without eating any greens, I was happy to have the salad. The dressing was light and unique in flavor, which made up for the less-than-fresh leaves. The pumpkin raviolis were also refreshing, as aside from the pumpkin, there were also cherry tomatoes and arugula in the dish. Another light item that left me pleasantly full. The wine was good, but arguably not as good as wine I drink in California, though I'm glad I tried it. I don't recall exactly what my parents got, but I think they were more traditional dishes--possibly goulash with spätzle. They enjoyed their dishes fine, and I'm sure I would have liked them too. The cream cheese dumplings were amazing! Such a simple dessert that was tart and sugary, warm, crunchy, and chewy. It hit all the right notes, and was perfectly-sized as a dessert for three people to share (after they have eaten their own entrees). Tucked away on a side street in the city center, this cozy spot gives you a traditional Viennese restaurant experience. My friend and I went around 6/6:30pm and were able grab a few seats at the bar. However, we arrived at just the right time, because not 30 minutes to an hour later, the place was packed and there was a line of people waiting. So I recommend making a reservation. We ordered beer and wine to start and then had the pike perch (fish), which came with a risotto, and chicken livers, which came with a fresh potato and water cress salad. For dessert, we shared the kaiserschmarrn (Austrian dessert of shredded pancake with dried fruit, served with apple sauce/compote). Overall we had a wonderful time enjoying our meal and the buzzing energy of the place! Excellent restaurant that wasn't too far from the Innere Stadt. Great food, excellent, service and nice ambiance (although the road outside was dug up due to construction). For starters we got the mixed salad (very good) and the fois Graz Bruelle. The Wiener Schnitzel was good as well, but the star of the show was the Tafelspitz which came with a number of sides. I had the Weiner schnitzel and it was rough. I could barely cut it. It was not prepared correctly to be so tough. The side dish of potatoes with sour cream and cucumbers on it was excellent. The pumpkin soup was good. The chocolate soufflé was not a soufflé and I'm not sure what it was but it was fair. The service was very nice and accommodating. I certainly would not go back. The Austrian classics were delicious- goulash, schnitzel and dessert was the piping hot kaiserschmarrn. What a find! Slightly away from the tourist hub, this cozy restaurant is just the place to enjoy local food, beer and wine. We also got beer and some lemonade. Everything was delicious and the food was very filling. I really liked how simple the schnitzel was. The breading and the amount they served was great. They provide half a lemon to be used on the schnitzel, and it made it pop. the schnitzel also came with some sort of potato salad, and its very different than the american potato salad we're used to. The beef goulash was savory and the bread they give you is great to soak up the sauce. I wish i got a salad dish, as everything was a bit heavy. Found this place on Yelp and we had a wonderful dinner. I felt I had to try Wiener Schnitzel in Vienna but it probably wasn't the best thing on the menu. The roasted veal in gravy and the salads were amazing. The veal filet looked incredible. We enjoyed wonderful wine and the service was attentive. Best food we had in Vienna. We arrived around 6pm on a Tuesday, and the place was already full. It's a small restaurant with only a few tables and a bar, so I would highly recommend reservations. We sat at the bar until a table opened up. The bartender did not smile much, but he turned out to be wickedly funny once we started a conversation. We ordered the beef goulash, veal liver, stuffed pepper, and the rump. All had amazing flavor, though in my opinion the goulash could have used a starch or a side to contrast with the meat and sauce. The liver was especially exceptional. I have never been a big fan of liver before, but something about this dish made the harsh aftertaste absolutely delicious. I was truly amazed. For dessert, we had the chocolate soufflé and cream cheese dumplings with apricot jam. Both were good, but not very sweet to my American taste buds. My Chinese parents, however, weee huge fans. Service was punctual and efficient. The language barrier made the servers seem a bit rough at first, but they were very responsive and friendly in all interactions. Overall, I would highly recommend this place. We will be back next time we are in Vienna! read more

Lovely place, small and quaint, with local food, wine and house made brew. We had both beers and they were traditional in style to the area, and pretty solid (if you're an American coming here and expecting craft brews like in the U.S.A., you're the problem). We tried the schnitzel and it was one of the better ones we've tried while traveling the area, but not the best. The biggest complaint was the breading was coming off very easily. Other than that, the potato soup was absolutely delicious, as was the potato salad. Late dinner after a concert. In the area, this spot was open until midnight. It's another one of those you should have a reservation for. This place was packed around 10 pm on Christmas Day. Once inside it is way bigger than it looks. Portion sizes huge. Neither of us could get half way through our entrees. We should have share one. The roast pork slices were thick, well seasoned. I loved the crusty outside. The sides were a braised cabbage and two "cakes". The cakes were like slices from a log of stuffing. I was seated in the back left dining area. Seating is tight. There are hooks above you for coats. And the table lights swing over so you don't hit your head getting in and out. Bread basket will just appear, and you are charged about 3€ per person for it, or call it a surcharge. Other menu prices seemed in line. read more
