I spoke with a lady, who apparently books events at the venue, who told me they hold a dirty dash there when it gets warm, and all the winter sports events during the cold months. I'm going to make it a point to head up during the winter and check out the cross-country skiing events as well as the biathlon if they have it this year.

I personally made some life long friends with other parents from this school and so did one of my daughters. I'm glad my kids and I had this experience. They had a lot of fun and learned some life lessons while attending. When I asked my kids what they learned overall from their experience there one said, "Who to hang out with and who NOT to hang out with." The other agreed. Well, that's a life lesson I didn't learn myself until just this past year and I had to move 700+ miles away to learn this. One thing that could make this school better is if they took the lesson my kids learned and applied it to their admissions policy. Many of the students there that I knew were amazing, intelligent children, but there were a few bad apples that belong in reform school, not a sudbury school. Also one of their staff members is too put it nicely; a horrible person. I do not know if she is still there, but I've heard many horrible things about how she yells and causes drama and acts atrocious. If you check this school out, do yourself a favor, ask if the problematic staff member is still there. If she's not, then you may have found an excellent choice for your child. I did like how my kids could put their lunch in the fridge and heat it up in the kitchen... That's not something most schools offer... Their judicial committee, although not always effective or fair, is a good thing, but could use improvement. Like if a child is written up for something more than twice their parent should be notified so the parent can annalize what is going on and help the child grow from the problem. I love and admire many things about this school, but it has some flaws.. Still, it could be one of the best choices for many children.

Very limited programs, mediocre academics (but very easy grading (probably to keep up the appearance of what they claim) very stifling/judgmental environment and one of the least Christian behaving communities we've seen. So much bullying among both staff and students and so many kids struggling with their mental health, due in part to the uncaring staff and student body. There is no college counselor (as of our departure) , no properly credentialed school counselor (as of our departure) , no math or reading specialist, no leveled instruction, no music program or instructors, very few elective or Honors/concurrent offerings. Many of the teachers are parents who , likely in order to keep their tuition benefit , flood rating sites to mask the poor reviews over the past several years. We were mislead to believe that there was so much to offer here, but our time here proved otherwise.

Their staff is loving and caring, the installations are great and clean, the management staff is also amazing and caring. I really appreciate their help with basically co-parenting with me. They send reports of whenever anything happens to your baby, call you when needed, communication was never a problem. I was super sad once I had to move towns and unfortunately couldn't keep on bringing my baby cause it did feel like an extra family, the teachers were so loving and that is something as a mom you really look for in the people with whom your child is gonna spend most of his time besides yourself. One of the nicest things was getting to see the crafts my baby would do very often at daycare, pictures they would print and decorate or do something nice for holidays and other special days. My girls LOVE the teachers there and I personally love the staff. They are very selective in who they hire, which alone says alot. Angie, Ashley, & Amanda always update me on anything that goes on while my girls are in their care. They are Ginuwine, honest and caring and it shows. I'm VERY picky when it comes to who watches my babies and these ladies make me feel really comfortable which is a MUST! They go by the book and then some. I love how organized and clean they are, & the communication is suburb. I do "Pop ups" and randomly sneak in to see how things are going in the classroom when the parents are "unexpected" and I can honestly say I've never been disappointed. I go by people's vibes and I can tell if someone is Ginuwine or not. These women are very Ginuwine and honest. If an incident occurred with your child, they let you know exactly what happened, how it happened, What time it happened and what they did to comfort your child. The staff is very well trained and definitely hand picked. The owner and managers all have kids and they all go there which is a really good sign. The staff have been there for years, they have well balanced meals, excellent learning activities, and well put together daily schedules. Courtney has been there for 20 years and she is the sweetest lady ever, Jaime knows everything about every child and gives these kids a lot of one on one attention. Summer is a gorgeous young lady that was born to care for young kids, she's super mature. Hailey has patience like no one I know, I witnessed it first hand at the kids Christmas performance (which was amazing btw). Jasmine is such a sweetheart, her and my daughter share a special bond, its adorable. Lora was my daughters previous teacher and she LOVES her, she calls her "Flora" so now I call her flora whenever I see her. I will never leave this place nor will I ever find a daycare that will care for my babies the way this daycare does. 1 million golden stars to the owner and Managers that make this daycare the way it is, I wouldn't change a thing about it. We made the decision her senior year (iright before covid which is sort of ironic since everyone went online any way in April) for her to go. She was given so much support and the teachers were available when we had questions. She gained confidence in herself and focus and wanted to do well. Five years later and she is doing amazing-nursing major, living independently and making a great living while in college. Let's acknowledge a few things up front - If you've found this yelp page - it's not going well. Your child has reached a place where you're desperate for help. In that desperation - realize that can open you up to manipulation. Just have your guard up. First, it's interesting to me that parents on here give Alpine 5 stars / and kids give it 1 star. I think this is a matter of perspective. I also think, that perhaps without Alpine - maybe those kids wouldn't even be in a place to leave a review at all. Don't know. Second, gloves off - this is a business. Forget all the non-profit nonsense. This is an industry - it's called the Troubled Teen Industry. Like any industry - you need to educate yourself. Learn the terminology. Feel your way through was feels like sales - and what feels therapeutic. Which is really hard- because it's such an emotional time. Couple of things I wished I knew before this program. 1. The most important decision you're going to make is who your kids therapist is. Spend a lot of time here. 2. The program is in Erda, UT. Staffing is an issue in every business today. Think how hard this is in Erda fucking Utah. The house staff varies widely in experience. And turns over a lot. Expect inconsistency. 3. You're gonna learn a lot of new terms - "getting signatures" "priv pauses" "redos". They are scary at first - but it's how they keep they keep the frame work of order in the house. It's a little petty - but it's not terrible. 4. If you're sending your kid to alpine because you're pissed at them it's the wrong choice. While this sucks - it's about finding the best therapeutic fit. See a lot of programs first. 5. During the interview here we had a lot of conversations over "fit". We found this to be a bit of nonsense. They said that they don't admit violent kids - news flash - they do. What they should say is - if our beds are full we have high standards. If we have space - we are more flexible. That's right. Your kids gonna see some shit go down. It ain't great. But it's reality. Remember it's a business. 6. It's expensive as shit. And your insurance isn't going to cover much or any of it. Don't fall for the "we ran a precheck". It's $615 a day. People are doing all kinds of things to pay for it - second mortgages. Loans. Emptying college funds. 7. The school part is the gold star here. Real schooling. 8. Be an advocate. If you want to call your kid. Call them. They are your kid at the end of the day. Don't forget that. 9. This is just my opinion. Don't stay too long. There are kids that have been their over 16 months. Imagine that fucking bill. Get your therapeutic needs met. And get out. The longer you stay. The longer that scene feels normal. And it ain't. That's it. Good luck in your journey. It totally sucks.
