Charged for repair on an issue that they caused by negligence. Charged for a cap after they said it was missing, even though I told them exactly where it was, it had fallen down in the engine compartment. Said they looked multiple times. When I picked up the vehicle, not only was the cap in the engine compartment. I pulled a loose tool they had left just lying in the compartment under the hood. I realize mistakes happen, but when they never took accountability, or even apologized for any of the above, they have no integrity as an organization. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the WORST fucking shit hole you could ever bring your vehicle to. Completely negligent and unorganized and unprofessional. It would take less time to drive across the country than get my car fixed due to the fact they are unable to order parts on vehicles they have the VIN number for. It took them 4 days to finally order the correct parts after they either "forgot" to order parts or they were the wrong ones due to manual error. Tried calling 4 times in once day to get an update on my vehicle but no one could provide one or even answer my phone calls. After they finally answered, on the 4th day they told me I was gonna have to wait two more days for service as if they didn't just have my car for 3 days prior. If your car needs a simple repair, don't take it here unless you clear your whole weeks schedule and are able to return twice a day for the rest of the week because it was supposed to be done that day... for days. This issue should have taken 2 days maximum and it has been drug out for a week as of today! Never got one, "I understand this is our fault, I am sorry," but what I did get was them trying to blame me for THEIR job! NEVER WILL BE BACK AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU! read more

We bought a car there last year for my daughter and bought the extended warranty. She tried to bring it in this week and got the complete run around from start to finish. She was completely ignored when she dropped her car off, then when she finally approached someone, all they told her is they were training. No offer to get someone one or tell her where to go, then she got passed around in circles when asking about her warranty. Plus they said they topped off all fluids in my paperwork yet my car wouldn't produce hot air when I needed it to a few weeks later. My partner added coolant for me. After buying a car from Gateway for the first time, I will never come back. The sales, service, and management areas are all terrible at communicating and returning your calls. After they get the sale they really don't care about keeping you as a customer. As part of the purchase agreement they were required to detail the car. They sure don't know the definition of detail as I had to bring it back three times due to spots they didn't get cleaned. Each time they said they told the detailing company to clean specific things and not actually clean the entire vehicle. I finally told them I wanted to work directly with the detailing company to get it done right. As soon as the weather gets warmer I am removing the dealer badge from the car as I don't want to advertise for them or let anyone know I ever bought a car from them. I own a 2106 Silverado I bought from gateway and this is the 3rd time I've had to deal with service and it is real bad. one time I had an apt for oil change at 9:00 am on a Saturday and at noon I finally walked out to lot and left without oil change. while walking around showroom floor I heard sales manager and salesmen laughing on nobody showing up to work that day. Today I am having issues with the 4 wheel drive not going out all the way or getting caught somehow and I do have the extended warranty bumper to bumper zero deductible and the service advisor says that until they get it in and look at it they don't know if warranty will pay for it at all. So next he says that he has and opening next Saturday at 9:00 and when I took it then he tells me that warranty isn't open on Saturdays!! So overall experience with service is so bad I will never ever buy another vehicle from them or recommend anyone to them. My wife returned with the car and I found that they hadn't checked the error, and the ECM warranty work was still defunct. Never buying a car here or bringing one in for service work again. Was in Fargo on vacation when the brakes on my 2004 Cavalier went soft. With nowhere to go, and needing to drive back to Virginia the next day I contacted Gateway. Despite the fact their repair shop was set to close at 4:00 they told me to come in and they would see what they could do. When I got there they sprung into action, evaluate my problem, and fixed t he brakes while I waited. I can honestly say I have not had such professional treatment at an auto repair facility in my life. Everyone was friendly, professional, and went out of their way to help me get back on the road. I can't speak to the sales side of the house, but if they are as good as the repair side they will remain very successful! read more

I had my oil changed there on Monday Feb 22nd and tried to buy a truck while mine was in the shop. The one I wanted had sold the day before but the sales specialist showed no interest in finding me another one or even ordering in a new one for me. Then later in the week I noticed a substantial oil spot under my truck which has never leaked a day in its life. I pulled it into my shop and noticed oil dripping from the filter so I returned on Friday Feb 26th having already lost a half quart of oil to find out they didn't tighten the oil filter. There was no compensation or refund for what could have been a catastrophic failure had it gone unnoticed. I will never trust one of my vehicles with your technicians ever again. If you can't tighten an oil filter you have no business working on anything I own. read more

The service department always over-charge you for repairs or create unnecessary repairs for you. I had a simple check engine code reading charged for over $120, which requires a plugging in and reading. The next thing is a fixing list with unnecessary things in it. Tate, Your terrible or your manager is not very organized I bought your 2009 chevy cobalt from you and your manager agreed to detail the car (not jsut shampoo the seats), rotate tires, move the head light up a little on drivers side since Let me tell you that the previous owner had a buffett last fall I really needed to know that.. Plus hidden fees would not recommend dealing with anyone there. They did rotate the tires and give me half a tank of gas thanks. Also waited probably about 1 hour before I was able to leave. . was in there 9/21/19 looking at a Chevy equinox, was told it was already sold and pushed into looking at a car I didn't want. we went back in the dealership to find out it wasn't sold just at the main dealership so after looking at the car we decided to purchase the equinox but they still had to fix the windshield and some other thing, we decided to leave the car with them until the following Saturday and Ryan said they would have it done and ready to go. I called the salesperson Friday to see if it was ready and he said every thing was done except for the windshield but they would try to be done by Saturday. now its Saturday and my grandpa call the manager Ryan to confirm the car is done and Ryan told us the car was sold as is but we knew better so Ryan said he would look at the paperwork and see if we were right, and we were so he said he would have it done that coming Monday. so 3pm Monday we call to see if it was done and Ryan said they were just putting the windshield in and then it was done so we take the hour long drive just to find out nothing had been done they hadn't even ordered the windshield so we debated on doing business with them and decided to take our 4000$ down payment and scrap the deal due to being lied to a few times and how un organized the whole deal was. read more

The salesman was polite and helpful but the attidude of the manager made not buying here an easy decision. I got into my car and I noticed something was wrong instantly. Being a Wisconsinite in Fargo/Moorhead area, I panicked. I called my dad who told me to go to the nearest Chevy dealership because my Spark was under warranty. I went in to Gateway and walked to a group of people and said, "I'm visiting from Minneapolis, something is wrong with my car, please help!!" I went in and a man brought me to the car bay and another man asked about the problems my car was having. After explaining, he told me they would take a look and that I would know by tomorrow when to pick up my car. I was extremely disappointed to know that I wouldn't have a car until they told me they could get me a rental from Hertz (who is also great, good choice!). The next day, I received a call from the friendly Chevy guys telling me that my spark plug was broken and because my car is a 2013 Spark, they would have to custom order it. The day after that, my car was ready to go! They even put some gas into it, which shocked me! Overall, I hope that if I ever have car trouble, it's in Fargo or my hometown where I bought my car. Absolutely great service by very caring people. I felt comfortable the whole time I was there, and it was nice to know that these guys were going to get my car to where it needed to be. Since I declined they would not replace the sensor that was under warranty and said to see if it faults again and then maybe they would look at it. My daughter's Chevy van window would not roll up in the middle of winter this year. As we live in Dickinson and were unable to come and fix it my husband told her to take it to a Fargo Chevy dealership. By the time the service dept. was done, they told her the repairs would cost more than the vehicle was worth. She is a single mom with 2 kids and a limited income. The written quote was double the verbal quote on the phone. Over half of the quoted repairs were not true has my husband who is a mechanic had taken care of them. They got her window rolled up for $40.00 so she would not have to drive in zero below weather. The cost of the window parts were around $70.00 and took about 1 1/2 hrs. when my husband was able to repair the window. They quoted my daughter my daughter over $900.00 to repair just the window. I am tired of businesses taken advantage of people. My husband never did that when he managed a garage. When I called to find out why they did this, Chris lied to me about quote and said there was no such quote and got hung up on. I asked to talk to Manager and got Robert who was nice but transferred me back to Chris. Somehow John got in the middle. I got back to Robert and emailed him the written quote and the receipts as proof of the cost of the parts to repair window. Unfortunately, Robert never bothered to get back to me. Chris did not want me to talk to John. He told me John was JUST A SALESMAN. From what Robert said, John was a manager. Tired of businesses taken advantage of women and the elder.
