I knew something else was probably wrong with my car because for well over year my Nissan Murano was being extremely loud and I had been asking the place I used to bring it( I won't name them specifically but they are a "big" lot in Moorhead ;)) what was wrong, they would just tell me that Nissans are just loud cars and my car was fine. It turns out that not only did I need an oil change and brake pads and new rotors, but my car was not safe to drive-the wheel bearings and hubs all needed to be replaced and were basically about to fall off- and that was what was making my car extremely loud. Mike saw that I was panicking about what the cost would be as my finances are super tight at the moment. He went out of his way to call around for the best possible prices on parts, he got me in that same day (I dropped my car off while I was on a break at work and picked it up during a later break that same day), and he gave me a deal on everything and he made sure I could afford it. It was still a lot more money than I was expecting to spend at the beginning of the day, but anywhere else it would have been much, much more expensive. I know absolutely nothing about cars, but a friend of mine who does know a lot looked up prices of all the parts that they replaced and considering what labor should have been and how quickly they did everything, my friend told me the price was unbelievably fair. As a woman who knows nothing about cars, I know I am easy to take advantage of when it comes to work needing to be done on my car. I really felt that Mike and his team had my best interest at heart. I feel like my own dad was taking care of my car that day. My car is now quiet and drives like brand new. This place has won my loyalty and I will be going there from now on! They are absolutely wonderful!

It started with them ordering the wrong part so that took an extra week to fix. Then they suggested some fixes that I didn't think the car needed so prolly trying to oversell me. But finally everything is all fixed and I get my car back. Within 15 miles the car is overheated and I pull over to let it cool down. Brought the car back to the shop immediately. They told me they checked the coolant, even had a report on how good it was looking. There was no coolant in my car. This shop is terrible. I spent $5,000 fixing my car with them and paid and extra $300 with another shop to fix the things they screwed up. Also they said they would call me this week to explain the situation to me and I still haven't hear from them. Don't trust them, go somewhere else... seriously

BEWARE- DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GATEWAY HYUNDAI…read more I brought my elderly mother's car in for service, and Gateway told us it needed a new engine. Even though the engine is under warranty, then Hyundai Motors DENIED the replacement of the engine due to "Excessive Maintenance Neglect." In response, I provided pages upon pages of maintenance records. The service manager Kyle Deikmann even told me we had more records than anyone else has ever given. I repeatedly asked for the exact photos, diagnostics, and a clear explanation of what specific "maintenance gaps" they were claiming. Gateway and its employees refused to provide all the photos and diagnostic documentation. When I went in to speak with the shop director Luke Bentley and two other shop managers (Kyle and Aja) , I was thrown out of the office simply for asking for the photos and diagnostics--after I filed a BBB report that Hyundai Motor America told me to file. Meanwhile, my elderly mother still cannot get her car fixed and is struggling to get to her doctor appointments, so we are now in a lawsuit. Gateway has been unprofessional, rude, and non-transparent. Consider this a WARNING before doing business there.

Flash forward: I'm 25, graduated, married, bought a house, with the same car. What stayed the same? United Automotive coming in clutch every time I needed them. The first time I had to bring my car in for an oil change, I almost cried because I was so worried about being guilted into unnecessary maintenance. I decided to bring it to United because it was close to me - a decision that would change my life forever. I had experience with auto shops attempting to milk me for all I was worth (which was literally nothing) for things like battery replacement, lightbulbs, etc because I went in alone, as a young woman, knowing jack about car repairs. I hated it. United took my car, had the oil changed in less than 12 hours, charged me $35, and APOLOGIZED for the "long wait". On my receipt they quoted me prices for three items of maintenance that weren't necessary but I could get in the future if I wanted. The tech explained to me thoroughly all the items and said none of them were necessary, but I could always come back and get them done later if I wanted. And then checked me out. It took a grand total of 5 minutes. I sent the receipt to my dad and he said that was the cheapest oil change I would ever find. This would begin my history with United and my healing journey with car repairs. Along the way I would get regular oil changes, a replacement oil tank cap within 24 hrs, a couple issues my brain fabricated because I was nervous but still got checked out, brake pad replacement, and a few other things I can't remember. Each time I got an apology for the "long wait" (nothing was more than 24hrs), quotes for 3-5 long-term maintenance items to keep an eye on, and the most reasonable prices I would be able to find short of my dad doing it for me (this last part from my dad, who lives 4hrs away).
