I brought my items in over two weeks ago. I requested two shirts to be dry clean immediately for my husband business trip. We dropped them off on a Friday afternoon. Came in Monday morning at 10 A.M. like instructed and he was told they were not ready. He let them know that it's for a business trip that he needs to leave for in the next two hours and they said give me a second and handed him one shirt which was still damp. I came in on Friday afternoon, a full week later, and they handed me the additional shirt that my husband did not get, to find out. It wasn't even the correct shirt! I went right back in and handed her the shirt and said this isn't the right one. She told me. Oh I'm sorry. Can you come back in two days for the correct one? I had just finished dropping off more items of my husband clothes and when I told him he said go back and immediately get all my clothes and tell them to hand you the shirt. I don't care if it's clean or not. I want all my stuff back. I don't trust this place. I had also dropped off two jackets to get zippers fixed, which it is now going over a week and it is still not done. The did seem very apologetic. When I walked back in to tell her that I want all my items back and my husband does not want me to leave without his shirt that was supposed to be ready five days ago. after searching frantically through her store,she did locate the shirt and told me if she can make it up by having it dry clean and it would be ready within one hour at no charge due to the mess up. I was told my jacket would be ready by Monday and to come and pick it up. Then I gave an extra day and today is Tuesday and I walked in to see that the zippers were fixed. Yet she steamed one of the jackets last second as I walked in. Meaning, of course it still was not ready yesterday when it was promised. Sadly, I tried to give this place a shot, but there is no way I will be taking my clothes in there, especially when I walked in today and she was once again, frantically looking for someone else's items that she could not find. They need a better system here since it seems that they keep losing customers clothing! read more

So I gave this cleaner a second chance. First review dated 2/13/26. I dropped off a shirt the other week and they said it'll be ready Tuesday (June 30th) but because of my first experience I no long go the day its ready. So I went yesterday (July 6) and they could not find my shirt! After awhile she said something to the male that was doing the steaming and came back to me and said he's gona help me look for it. After another short while she said they'll look for it and for me to come back tomorrow! I asked what happens when you lose an item. Her response was, "Don't worry, we'll find it". NO APOLOGY WHATSOEVER. After work, I will be back to see if they found it. This experience sealed the deal for me. if I could give them zero stars I would. Regret coming here! I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt based upon the negative reviews and the fact that this location was/is convenient decided to give them a try. Oh boy....when my partner went to pick up my dress he had to wait and wait and wait as the staff was trying to help customers before him. Staff seemed to have difficulty finding customers' clothes then what sounded like a regular walked right in directly passing everyone in line and hung a shirt on the rod only to have an employee say "phew you saved my life"....he was returning the garment they gave him by accident! So my partner did get my dress after waiting (which the employee did apologize for) but as soon as he came home I quickly had to check if they gave him the correct dress which they did BUT I noticed two snags on my brand new dress! This place deserves 0 stars. This has been one of the worst experiences we've ever had with a cleaner. It's been almost a month since we dropped off an item that they apparently don't even handle, yet they've been giving us the runaround week after week. No one ever answers the phone, and there's been zero communication or honesty. If it was going to take that long, they should've said so upfront and let us decide. DO NOT BRING YOUR DRY CLEANING HERE !!! This place is the worst!!!! So unprofessional and will ruin your items!! I have a very special blanket. That means a lot to me and I bring it to dry cleaning because it has tassels at the end of them, but if not handled properly can get messed up. The first time I brought it there they kept it for over a week because they needed to fix the tassels at the end due to it getting all tangled up. The second time I brought it there they kept it for over a week again. But seeing as how I felt like my blanket was cared for properly I wasn't upset about the length of time...... however, this last time I was completely appalled by how I was treated and my blanket was treated..... this place is located in Brea and I live in Santa Ana, which is a bit of a drive but I make the drive because I thought this was a place I could trust...... after two weeks of not having my blanket I sent My Husband to go and retrieve it and he was told it wasn't ready yet. I was a little annoyed, but understood that with how delicate the blanket is it could take some time.... another week past and I asked My husband to check on it seeing how it's been three weeks it should be done. He went in and it was not done yet and that they still had to fix it.... At this point I'm panicked because I don't understand what needs to be fixed and why it's taking so long..... I told My Husband to please go back a few days later and let them know that it doesn't matter what the condition is, I just want the blanket....... He went to pick it up and tell them that he just wanted to take it home and he was told that their daughter took home the blankets to fix it...... at this point, I am upset at the fact it's taking this long and still needs to be "fixed" which is telling me that there is something seriously wrong with my blanket....... I tried to call the number on this yelp and on google but that number is not a working number. I knew someone who worked close by and asked after they were off work to get me the number on their door so I can call. I then called and told them that the daughter needs to bring back my blanket and I will be picking it up after work in whatever condition it's in....the lady who I spoke to then said that no, I can pick it up Monday.... I sternly said no that is not going to happen, I will be there after work and I want to pick up my blanket.... the lady then argued with me again about it and I sternly said that I was going to be there after work to pick it up and it needs to be ready in whatever condition it's in....... She then told me that I don't have to be rude( which after what is going on does she really think I'm not going to be upset?) and to pick it up whenever........ I go to pick up my blanket. I was not mean at all. I gave the girl behind the counter the number it was under she went to get the blanked which then she spoke to someone else in the back that I'm assuming was the lady I talked to since I received a dirty look.... I took my blanket and walked out and as I'm walking out, that lady started saying all kinds of disrespectful things as I'm walking out the door in front of her other customers......." Ever since the new owners took over, this place has gone downhill. They never answer their phone, no matter how many times I call or what time I call. My items are never ready when they're supposed to be and I end up having to come back. I need my clothes for work so I need them to be ready when promised. One time I had to go back 3x before they were ready. Answer your phone-this is what customer service is about. If a customer is calling to find out if their item is ready, answer the phone so they don't make a trip down to your cleaners only to find out that the item is not ready yet. read more

I have never received worse service from a dry cleaner in my life. Drop off brand new suit for wedding, tags and stitches still on it. Asked them to make sure to take them off an have it ready to wear. Not only was every single tag still on it, and the vents were still stitched together, they actually punched a hole through my coat to put their tag on it... you couldn't attach it to the many tags that were still on the garment when you pressed it? You can straight up see the outline of the tags from where they were pressed to the coat. Took the coat to have it ready for a wedding. Now it's ready for Goodwill... read more

Awful awful awful. I've been to this place on 3 separate occasions and had terrible experiences each time. First time I went there I brought in a brand new comforter to get cleaned, when we received it back there was a huge tear in it and no one had told us that it happened. We took it back to have them repair the mistake but the comforter just didn't look the same. Second time I went I brought in another comforter to get cleaned and this time it wasn't ready in time and had us come back days later. Now the last and final time I've gone I came in for a zipper repair on my sons sleep sack. Brought it in on a Monday was told it would be done by Saturday. Came in on Saturday they told us item wasn't ready and that they haven't even ordered the zipper. Told us to come back Wednesday that it would definitely be done. Came back Wednesday same thing, they still didn't have the item ready and told us to come back Friday. Now I wouldn't mind the delays had they called us and told us instead of us wasting our time coming back when they say it's gonna be finished. Finally picked up the item after waiting over 2 weeks! Owner was far from apologetic and instead of saying he was sorry for the inconvenience had the audacity to say we underpaid when they quoted us $16 for the repair and we should of paid $20. Give me a break! I told him I would of happily paid the $20 If they had it done on time! As I left he was mumbling stuff under his breath. Unprofessional! I don't recommend them at all. Where do I begin, I went to go pick up my jacket at 1st I was concerned because I didn't look like mine she assured me it was mine so I started walking out. When I finally got to my truck I noticed something weird about it my jacket. It had a white liner and my jacket has a black liner I went back in and told her this wasn't my jacket she then tried to tell me that they didn't have my jacket she didn't try looking for it. So I said no find my jacket. Good they finally found it and wanted to do the cleaning right then and there I said I'll come back tomorrow and I did. I pick up my jacket then she has the audacity to tell me make sure it's my jacket next time. No how about you not mess up my dry cleaning order next time. The absolute WORST customer service ever. Came here to drop off my son's dri-fit shirt that just needed to be re-stitched along the bottom as the thread started unraveling. My husband dropped it off and was told it would be done in a few days. He went to pick it up, they said it needed a special sewing machine and needed a few more days. He went back a week later, still not done. Fast forward to this past Wednesday, I dropped off some pants for hemming. I asked for my son's shirt for pick up, still not done and they told me they advised my husband about the sewing machine issue and promised it would be done Friday. Went yesterday to pick up both items.... My son's shirt was still not done so I just asked for it back and told them it doesn't take over a month. My pants weren't done and instead of advising me, she ran to the side and I can hear her trying to do it as I stood there waiting and said the guy needed to steam it to get the wrinkles out. Came home and tried them on and the hem is completely uneven. I needed these pants for a wedding tonight. Never ever ever going back here again. There is also a language barrier and they seem to only speak Spanish and very little English. read more

Do not trust them with anything of value. Worst Dry Cleaners Ever!! I brought my wedding dress here in October for cleaning, I was told it would take 1 month but they will call me when it's complete. December came and I had not heard from them so I dropped in to check. Neil told me, oh sorry we are backed up but we will call you. Few more months go by and it's February 11th, still no phone call. I love my dress so I decided to drop in again and pick it up, I didn't care if it was clean I just wanted it back. The young lady helping me looks confused, Neil comes over and says oh it's done in fact it's been done for awhile, but can you come back tomorrow so we can press it. I agree because again I just wanted my dress, but I knew the dress wasn't done, this was panic and they were going to clean I instead of loose business. I return February 12 to pick up my dress. Neil brings out the bag I dropped my dress offn, inzips and pulls out the bottom of the dress and says we did our best but some spots wouldn't come out. He zips it back up and rings me up. I load the dress in my car, drive home and excitedly pull out my dress.....oh wait it's not even my wedding dress inside, it's a strangers dress. I immediately drive back to the cleaners and walk in to tell Neil, this is not my wedding dress, it's the bag and has the info where I purchased it but this is not my dress. He says "oh really that's weird, are you sure? I will have to check with the cleaner but he's gone home. Do you have a photo of your dress?" Um hello its my wedding dress so I text him a photo. I return the next day and it's still not ready, Neil was not working and the ladies at the front were clueless. It now is Friday 2/14, I've worked all day and finally check my text at dinner and I have messages from Neil saying that they think they sent my Wedding dress home with someone else, but she doesn't get back until Tuesday, what's the label on my dress again?" My response Friday is to resend the photo, and tell him the designers name. Neil responds Saturday now and tells me "can you pick up your dress Monday". Such a cluster fuck, I send my husband Monday 2/17, to retrieve the dress he face times me to ensure that it is my dress, talks with Neil and asks for a refund. We were refunded $30, because "well we cleaned it". This whole time no one apologized, no one seemed to show any urgency, my wedding dress was "lost" and you couldn't even refund me $85. And to top it off I check my dress, and it's not clean, and it's still wet, so they suck at actually cleaning, and won't take owner ship. On my first visit their was a gentleman at the counter saying he brought in 6 items for cleaning last week, picked up a few days ago but 2 items were missing from the order. And while my husband was picking up my dress on our last visit, a lady was in with her husbands shirt saying that they cleaned his shirt but now it has spots that were. It on it before. And again no apologies, no customer service, they will happily mix up items and loose items without a proper credit or an apology. Please don't use them I would be mortified if this happened again to anyone else, but the likely hood it will because they sent me home with a different dress and wouldn't have noticed unless I did, I wouldn't have the. Box your dress because how can you be sure your dress is actually what they give you. This business is a shame and should be forced to close for good!!!! read more

Recently, my dry cleaners that I frequented for 20 years closed due to rent cost after shopping center upgrade. I tried this cleaners and was pleased until they lost the belt for my work pants. The disheartened part is the inability to take accountable for the loss or misplacement of my belt. The paying customer should not be treated as the person at fought. I encourage them to improve customers experience and handling of situations. This is the reason for my low rating due to dissatisfaction with the service. read more

I am the 9th person to rate this business and already the 4th one to rate this store with 1 star (worst rating possible). Almost half the customers ratings (4 out of 9) have had a significantly bad experience. I just moved to brea and wanted to find a cleaners that i could go to for all my cleaning needs. They messed up on alterations for a pair of expensive pants and when I tried to discuss it with the owner/manager (Neal), he was rude, said that he wouldn't do anything about it, and also said that I'm "NOT EVEN A REGULAR CUSTOMER". I just got off the phone with him and felt that I would warn anyone that is looking for a cleaners to look elsewhere. I took my ball gown in to get it cleaned before wearing it to the Marine Corp Ball in Virginia. They charged me double what they estimated over the phone (annoying but understandable). Somehow they managed to take out the zipper along the seam, continuing down about 2 inches past where the zipper ended. However, instead of telling me about it, they let me pay and walk out with it that way. When I saw it at home, I took it back and said that we had a problem... They offered to fix it for me but told me that I'd have to talk to the manager when I asked for my money back. I called the next morning and asked to speak to the manager, only to be told that he had "just left" and would be "in and out all day." Although I left my contact information and a message, he never called me back. When I went to pick up my "fixed" dress hours later, he wasn't there either. When I again asked for a refund for all of the stress caused, they refused to give me my money saying that THEY didn't rip it. I asked if they were telling me that I brought in a pieced dress for cleaning and then asked them why I would do that. Like very good politicians they responded that they weren't saying that I ripped it, but they didn't do it...so I guess that means that the seam-ripping fairies got their hands on my dress when nobody was looking. They pointed out that they fixed my dress (like they had done me a favor) and sent me home. Of course, the "fix" that they did left threads sticking out to get caught in the zipper, obvious stitching over detailed lace, and was a really sloppy job in general. After all the hassle, I sent my gown to a proper seamstress and wore a different dress to the ball. Luckily, we were able to catch the owner (after they thought they had gotten rid of me, I guess) and he paid for the fix. I will never ever go back there. read more

I had two shirts that got destroyed here. The buttons came off and there were areas of the shirt that had strange holes that looked like the hangers had worn through the shirt. Be careful about writing yelp reviews for this business as well. The owners son retaliated against my business by writing a negative yelp review. He hadn't even been to my business. I had to involve yelp and attorneys. Weird situation that this company put me and my business in. They lost my $100 shirt in August and gave me wrong one instead - I returned it to them asking to find the original shirt of refund it. I made about 5-6 phone calls, took a while to get in touch with the owner, and he promised to find the shirt or refund it - but never did. I kept calling and also wen to the store twice but was never able to get this resolved. Regardless of how service is when you do get your items back, this is enough to mark a unacceptable. read more

A pleasure to do business with and will always try to honor coupons if you bring them in when you are dropping off items. I will continue to use Gateway as I have tried other cleaners in the area and none felt right to me. I have used Gateway for over 10 years now. Years ago I had a shirt go missing and weeks later the owner handed it to me, saying they searched their entire inventory knowing it was there. Truly something is never lost, just misplaced until the time is right to be found. They will sew buttons on for me at no charge and have patched many a ripped seam or tear at minimal cost. read more

Was searching for a reliable, quality cleaner in the area and have finally found them! I tried 3 or 4 and think these guys are the best. Work is top notch, they haven't missed a beat (always on time and never lose anything). Shirts are crisp and clean. Dry cleaning is awesome (I had to bring a down jacket and down pillow here after other cleaners said they didn't have the right technology/process to do them). Another thing is that their system is solid--they take my preferences and phone number once and never lose a thing. Oh, and these guys have no problem fixing broken buttons, and making minor alterations! Great. A little pricey, but definitely worth it. Hey how about this... You can get one of their dropoff bags for $6 and then drop your laundry off ANYTIME day or night. Your clothes will usually be ready next day! Update (January 7, 2014) These guys do quality work--they are still a little more expensive than alternative cleaners, but I think they are worth it. In the past several months, they have lost two shirts of mine (supposedly inadvertently given to other customers). Although I wish it never happened, the manager, Neil, is honest and forthright about remedying the situation. read more

I took my 300 dollar dress here after I wore it to a wedding. The dress was a type of material that picks up stains very easily and I was sure I would never be able to wear it again. I tried to take the dress to two different dry cleaners before I came here. Both the places turned me away because of the type of material the dress was. The two young girls that greeted me at Gateway were really friendly and assured me that it was no problem to clean my dress. They even called me the next day after they talked to the owner to let me know they could get out most of the stains but of course it was not going to be guaranteed. I've used this place about 10 times now for basic laundering and dry cleaning as needed for business attire and nicer casual clothes that I don't trust myself to wash. I've had nothing but good experiences so far. Prices are cheap to fair, the turnaround is very quick. I think he's the owner...told me I can get most things the very next day as long as I drop off by noon or whatever it was the previous day. Service has been professional and friendly. Clothes have come back clean and in the condition in which I dropped them off. I recently looked at their yelp reviews and was very surprised to see all the negative reviews. I am so grateful to the owner of this cleaners! At a time when I needed a helping hand he truly came through. The funeral home called us at the last minute and said they needed an outfit to put on my dad in preparation for his funeral. We thought we had a few more days to get it ready but they needed it NOW. Even though the equipment had been turned off for the day, the owner assured me he would get my dads suit ready for me in one hour. At a time when I had been crying my eyes out for days while trying to write an obituary it made all the difference in the world. Thank you Gateway cleaners for coming through for me! Owner charged us for a shirt that we had never seen before, even worse this shirt still had dirty brown stains that were not obviously cleaned or even seen the dry cleaning machine. When he showed us the video when we brought in the clothes, even though his cameras are extremely dated and very clearly do not show any of specifications on the shirt that is not ours, it was always his word over ours and he continually insisted that we were in the wrong because his employees would have not made any mistakes because "the tags tell the whole story". As if he couldn't just stick a tag on an old shirt that was never claimed in the back and edit it so that we would have to pay another $14 on a COTTON shirt that would never need dry cleaning. His only solution was that he would check his machine and the back storage and "call us back in a few days", as if we would just forget the incident and he can carry along with his business. Mediocre Service, Terrible attitude that puts the business above the customer, and an owner that insists that his word is the only one that matters. Do not give this place your time or money because they will misplace it and insult you for insisting otherwise. read more
