Now the same dog has come back from boarding needing stitches above his eye with ZERO explanation or acknowledgement from any of the staff. The staff is not trained and should not be handling peoples pets. My beautiful husky now has a permanent scar above his eye and the staff had no idea how it happened and never got him treatment so I had to take him to my vet and pay to get him stitched. I'm appalled at the lack of care these kids are giving the dogs in their care.

Sometimes I've boarded her, which usually causes her to be reluctant the next time we go for day care. Not at Pups and Pals! She is so excited every morning! The daily schedule allows for group play and indoor rest. The staff evaluates the dogs' personalities, size, and energy levels before putting them in a group. Playtime includes best friends, lots of cuddles and kisses, pools in the summer, and always playscapes. They go out anywhere between 6-8 times a day, with breaks in their air conditioned suites. The building is super nice, very new, and the play areas have K9 grass that keeps their paws nice and clean. I especially like that it is hosed every night. BTW there's a groomer onsite! Just a heads up -- it's hard to see the marquis from the 1st street entrance. You really need to know what you're looking for! April and I give Pups and Paws 4 paws up!

I appreciate the simplicity to their process and extremely reasonable pricing. Staff are always friendly and they do decent departure baths so our girl is fresh and clean on her way home! I will say they could improve communication at times--sometimes emails don't get answered too promptly or they've forgotten a bath before. I also wish they could give more photos/updates of how our dog is doing and what her run looks like, but understand it's more of a no-frills place and she always come home doing just fine, so not a reason to avoid at all. Earlier this year, my pup Ryder was viciously attacked by two large dogs who slipped out of loose…read moredog collars as we passed them at the park. Fortunatley he healed well after two weeks of dedicated TLC but the trauma of the experience remained with both him and me well after Ryder physically healed. I reached out to Matt for virtual dog training appointments to help us through that, and his guidance and great wisdom around dog psychology and behavior and deep empathy for Ryder and in general made such a huge impact. I learned from Matt how to help Ryder through his fear and trauma and how to recognize when he was experiencing trauma (for example, he developed a new and strong fear of rumbling engines). By applying Matt's empathetic practices, Ryder has become much less fearful, is no longer afraid of rumbling engines or playing with other dogs and he's back to his old happy, playful, super enthusiastic and friendly self!! :) Matt also greatly helped my dog Ellie through the excessive anxiety that resulted from my marital separation and helped us learn what an impact the breaking of that social bond had on her and how to address it! We now give her the extra attention she needs when doing hand offs to switch between homes. Thank you so much, Matt working with you has made a WORLD of difference in Ryder and Ellie's quality of life!! :)
