This review is only based off of my experience/ first impressions and this business may work amazingly for your dog! Once I found Walk ATX it took me a while to get in contact with someone, called a couple times, left a voicemail, sent a couple emails -to no avail! Sent a dm on insta as a last resort and finally got in contact with someone! Yay! Erika helped me set up my account and went over daycare. Dropped my pup off for his first day! First impressions matter to me and as someone who is nervous I would have loved to see them greet my dog. Instead the woman at the front ( not sure her name - mullet - immediately went into a quick " take off the leash. What's his name? You'll get an update at 11" And then I watched her usher him straight to the backyard. No saying hi to the dog, no convo with me, no easing his nerves, no questions about him, no petting him, no introductions, nothing. I didn't love that, especially since it was our first time and it made me much more nervous to drop him off there. Around 11:00 I started to look for updates, none. Tried to call 3 times, no answer. Again this is his first day so not hearing anything on how he was doing and getting no photos - nerves then rose to an all time high. People are allowed to have bad days so will update this after a few more times. Just know the first day is not as informative or warm may not be as warm as you'd expect.

It is difficult to find a doggy boarding/day care that provides such well rounded, holistic approach to pet care. We have used Walk ATX for boarding, day camp with pick up and drop off included, and for in home check ins with walks. As well as their add-ons like baths and fun photoshoots. Mo is a party animal - we are constantly training, working with him and we fill all of his needs. Yet he is an energetic, happy 2.5yo rescue from Austin Pets Alive. He is a foster win actually. He's always soooo excited when he realizes he's about to get dropped off at Walk ATX and he's welcomed with big smiles and a huge "Hi Mo!!!!!" by the passionate and hard working staff. Walk ATX does pack walks, outdoor playtime in their yard with staff assigned to different groups of dogs. I love that there's constant supervision and a structured day. Including rest/down time, which is just as important as to not overstimulate the doggos. It seems as if Walk ATX has only gotten better over the years. They've incorporated training, special add-ons, and cool adventures. Last time Mo stayed with them while we were in Costa Rica, Britton and the team were super attentive (Mo was on limited activity for the first few days per our vet), and even called to give an update, in addition to their daily updates via email and on their app "Time to Pet". I know Mo is cared for and looked after by a group of caring animal lovers.

He couldn't stop scratching, and his ears were bothering him. This wonderful staff worked me in without an appointment on a Saturday. Dr. Ryan and William. The vet tech were amazing. They prescribed some allergy meds, cream for his eyes and ears, and the dog was a different animal the very next day. This staff is amazing. I highly recommend them!

I was anxious to take them to a new vet and this was their first car ride since the move (cats and flying :/). My boys did great and everyone from the front desk, to the vet tech, and Dr. Kemnitz were so warm and welcoming. They were thorough in their care, weren't rushed, and listened to all my concerns. I appreciated that Dr. Kemnitz's style was more conservative and avoiding tests and traumatizing my boys if it wasn't necessary. I'm happy to say that I've found a new vet here in Austin and highly recommend!

Sometimes I've boarded her, which usually causes her to be reluctant the next time we go for day care. Not at Pups and Pals! She is so excited every morning! The daily schedule allows for group play and indoor rest. The staff evaluates the dogs' personalities, size, and energy levels before putting them in a group. Playtime includes best friends, lots of cuddles and kisses, pools in the summer, and always playscapes. They go out anywhere between 6-8 times a day, with breaks in their air conditioned suites. The building is super nice, very new, and the play areas have K9 grass that keeps their paws nice and clean. I especially like that it is hosed every night. BTW there's a groomer onsite! Just a heads up -- it's hard to see the marquis from the 1st street entrance. You really need to know what you're looking for! April and I give Pups and Paws 4 paws up!

Today was the second time that our golden came home with a gash on his face. This time it's bad…read moreenough that I'm sitting in the lobby of an emergency vet to get him cleaned up and stitches up. In both instances our dog was injured because a staff member ignored him while he was in their kennel. He heard me at the door and got excited. Like all dogs. But instead of trying to get him calmed down or out of the kennel all together. Instead he's now getting about a dozen stitches. The owner wasn't there at the time. She called and told me that they should have him come in any more. IN OTHER WORDS...ITS THE DOGS FAULT! Are you kidding me. DO NOT bring your pet to Train My Dogs! Period RESPONSE TO OWNER WOW! So if I understand what you're trying to say, this is our fault for continuing to bring him there. If he did pass your "test" you should have said so day one. Don't try and excuse your mistakes by saying you took Walle in in spite of risks. That's not only one of the dumbest things I've ever heard, but it clearly shows you wont claim ANY RESPONSIBILITY for the fact that your staff knew of the risk and ignored it. Stop trying to make yourself feel better at our expense.

They have four different modules that the pets cycle through--school, outdoor playtime, pool/water fun, and naptime. They pair dogs by personality/temperament and size. The people who work at this business actually REALLY do love dogs. They understand them, they like them, they treat them like individuals by helping them where they're at and what they need to work on. We have been super impressed with this place. I love the fact that we get dog obedience with dog play time all in the same day. Our puppy comes home super happy and exhausted! We've tried most of the dog day care locations in and around the downtown Austin area and we are most happy with this place. They are super accommodating for their clients, they have really well-trained staff and they really do what they say they're going to do with your dog.

My experience with Care.com was Horrible! When I signed up for the 12-month plan for dog sitters,…read moreI was charged $140.59. This is the only fee I was aware that I'd be charged. On top of that amount, I was charged $194.85. When I contacted Care.com about this charge, they reported that I selected a background check on the caregivers initiating that fee. I would never knowingly have selected a background check on their caregivers if the cost of $194.85 would be added to the already $149.59 charge to my card. When I contacted them, they made a blanket statement that they don't offer any refunds. Somewhere in their supposed fine print is a 3 day cancellation policy,... something else you don't readily see or know you should do. On top of these fees, you still pay premium pricing for the actual service! I wasn't able to secure a sitter for the dates I needed. All I received from Care.com is a very large bill!! I would give Care.com a negative 10 as a review on their scamming policies towards their new clients!!!!! I have to rate this company for my review to post. It is not an accurate rating, it was below "not good" When you try and rate care.com, it pulls up Pawstin, not the same company I'm reviewing.

They always text photos and a brief description of how our two dogs are doing. I would highly recommend their services and continue to use them whenever we need our pets taken care.
