Right near by, we came across the Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden, another spot we've never explored. Parking was easy, they've got a decent size parking lot. Being a sunny, and hot Sunday morning, the tree coverage over the walk ways through the garden provide a ton of shade, which made for a very pleasant exploration. The whole garden is so nicely maintained, with probably a couple of miles worth of paved paths. There are plenty of sculptures to discover, and lots of benches to take a sit, and just enjoy being outside and the well manicured gardens. I'd recommend this to anyone looking to get out of the house and do a little urban exploring. It's even good for older people, as the paths are paved, with minimal hills.

My wife has been watching their social media posts and activity and really wanted to check them…read moreout. The farm is located about 20-25 minutes north of Winston, close to Walkertown. We arrived about 1:30pm on a Saturday afternoon. The parking area had a dozen or so cars. We proceeded to the covered barn and were immediately greeted by the family. The young man was friendly and efficient, we also learned that veterans receive free admission which was a welcome surprise, very nice touch! We also learned they have swag including shirts, baseball hats, stickers and decals. They were selling Colts signature honey and Carolina Gold oils made from sunflowers. They were down to their last bottle of garlic oil so they set it aside for us. We grabbed a bucket which was already equipped with cutters for us to cut our own sunflowers. The back field was where we were headed and the casual stroll back was enjoyable. There are beautiful flowering bushes and flower fields along the way and I was able to capture several cool pics with butterflies as well. The sunflower field was beautiful and we immediately began taking pictures. We commented that we should have brought the drone to capture the farm. We ended up cutting eight sunflowers to take home and arrange. Once up at the covered barn area they wrapped the sunflowers up and we selected our various swag items. Very cool local family business. We asked and they told us this is their sixth year. Support local and enjoy the beauty of Dogwood Farms.

When we went to get our poppies, we were given 1 bucket and 1 pair of scissors (why wouldn't we get two since we paid for two?). Then, when we wen to pay for our poppies, they simply wrapped them in a paper and rubberband. I asked, "Could you put a wet papertowel on those?" The lady was curt and said, "They'll be fine til you get home." Well, they weren't fine. They were wilted and looked sick. I enjoy supporting my local community, however, these people couldn't care any less about you or your poppies.

Staff was huddled in the painting area. Kids were running around freely as to be expected. Just slightly disappointed with some of the zones. A lot of them were missing items that you would need to interact with and some just had a few items that looked like donated toys from goodwill. For what it's worth it's not a bad space to spend a couple of hours. But my kids got bored pretty quickly. Bathrooms were semi clean. But did have the tools needed for toddlers potty training. Overall not too bad. I wouldn't come here every week. Just once every now and then maybe.

One child chose to do it. The other child chose not to. I was disappointed as I paid thinking we were gonna make a cute little gift maybe a tiny bird house or something however, the children did have a good time and enjoyed themselves very for several hours.

There's ample parking, plenty of space around the ball fields, and accessible amenities. I really appreciate the built in canopies providing shade over the bleachers. Before COVID, my husband and I played with our kickball team here for several seasons where we won…read morethe championship one year and was runner up in all the other seasons we were in together. The field is well-kept, the games are overseen by the ref, Roger, who is a household name if you're a kickball regular, and you can even buy snacks and drinks at the kiosk they have available there on nights where there are games scheduled. The bathroom is also fairly clean. This sports complex has been a great place to get together for rec nights and I hope that one day, it'll be safe enough for all of us to play together again.

The Graham Historical Museum is located in Downtown Graham. There are free parking spaces out front…read moreand a parking lot next door that makes it convenient. The bright red door is easy to spot. The museum is just open Friday and Saturdays. No admission is charged and we couldn't find anywhere to leave a donation. The building that houses the museum was built in 1911 and where a fire station once was. A 1930 firetruck remains in the building. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and given a notepad and pen that we could use to sign into the guest book. The souvenirs were a nice way of keeping us safe from COVID. The staff wore masks as did all visitors to the museum. The director gave us a personal tour of the museum that we did not expect but provided a lot of background information of the town from photos to exhibits. It is nice that the town's history has been preserved. There is a North Carolina flag that was flown at the county courthouse. Other items show everyday life including the ledger register for payments made and receipts. One exhibit recognizes a hometown celebrity that was Miss Carolina and has many of her awards. The Coca Cola sign from the soda fountain shop is also displayed. I was most excited about the 1930 firetruck and equipment. I'm always amazed what these firefighters could do with so little available at the time. The second floor recognizes the athletes in the area and there is also a small library. The second floor can only be reached by going up stairs. The museum is a great addition to Graham's history.

We ran into several other folks ranging from ages 20s to 60s and even dog owners. Nice piece of Greensboro History. This is the only place in Greensboro where you will find one of almost every tree in this location. Each tree is tagged with its description. We also located the Oldest Grave as well.... born Dec. 25, 1810. Any movie goers - The Grave dancers was filmed here in 2006. (Hint - I hear this place is beautiful in the Spring with flowers adorning the graves...) If you're ever in the downtown area - go take a stroll here and grab some history while you're there.

Green Hill is by far my favorite cemetery in North Carolina. I've visited and reviewed quite a few,…read morebut none are as nice as this one. The tombs have varied stones and the location is in a quiet neighborhood. The rolling hills give the graveyard an peaceful look and the regular committee who cleans it has done a great job. I often enjoy a stroll during cooler months to visit and peruse the stones.

They suggested we come check out this art center. I'm so glad they did! You walk into GreenHill and see gallery rooms and children's art exhibit through the center hall. Walk past the info desk til you come to the studio. They have books and a fun art installation after passing through the first room. Keep walking and they have markers and colored pencils and paper to draw. In the back they have an easel wall - string and clips with color paper to paint. There were tables for clay and one attendant was setting out mirrors for the kids to do self portraits. All this was free when we went On Fridays they have story time and art for a nominal cost.
