We decided to stick around anyway to see if we would get seated. Thankfully, one of the owners came by and asked if we had been helped. She offered us a spot in the pub area, we just had to wait 5 minutes. The pub area looks like something out of my childhood. It was a bit dated, but I think that was the general theme of the restaurant. Kind of reminded me of an old golf clubhouse. Once we were sat in the pub area young man helped us from behind the bar. He was by himself with quite a few tables, but he was very prompt and helpful. I ordered the strip steak that came with mashed potatoes and green beans. I also got their French onion soup to start. Our food came out fairly quick and everything was pretty darn delicious. I would say the initial interaction with the hostess was the biggest drawback for this experience. The waitress told me the gratuity was added because the bill was over $100. That policy was not posted anywhere on the menu or on the chalkboard. As a result, the server was tipped twice. This lack of transparency is unacceptable, and I will not be returning.

I believe his name was James. I explained the errors to him. He did not apologize at all. I told him that putting cold salads on top of hot pasta is their common practice with my orders, he said nothing. I said to him that not putting cold salads on top of hot pasta should be common sense. He replied with, "I'm not going to have this discussion with you. You can take it up with DoorDash.
