    Grilled Lamb Chops

I used Yelp while in Flint, Michigan and it delivered again. I came across Cork on Saginaw and it was perfect. The staff was so accommodating. My party started out with 14 and downsized to 10 and they were able to seat us with no problem. The staff called me a day before my reservation so confirm and the day of. The space itself is soooo cute. The lighting is perfect for a cute intimate dinner as well. My food was amazing. No one in my party complained about the food, so that means they get an A+. Not one single complaint about anything. My friends are a tough crowd when it comes to food and taste. My lamb chops were cooked to perfect. I ordered mine medium and they came out like butter. Delicious. Everyone else food looked amazing as well. We even order dessert and everyone was pleased as well. I'm so upset I didn't capture all my food but I did get my lamb. We all ordered drinks and they were quite tasty as well.

Birthday Dinner - Cab Sav #ftw

Went here for my birthday dinner during Covid! We made reservations and had a great location for a group. We had enough room and were well distanced from the next table over. I was accompanied by a group of 5 Our service was nice. We started with wine which they have a great list. I did the Cabernet Sauvignon I think it was the $13/ glass one don't know the exact name. I ordered the harvest dip for the table which was squash onions and yogurt (spices too) pretty good but I've definitely never had that before. Served with pita. For my main dish I ordered off the featured menu. I had the NY Strip medium with a side of pomme frites and asparagus. Unfortunately the first time the steak was over cooked but the second they brought out was perfect and really appreciated the ease of switching out for my order. I'm from out of town so I did look at quite a few restaurants before selecting this one and I am happy I did. Had a great menu and a great wine selection.

Nice atmosphere, nice decor. Waitress was rude & burdened by questions but I wont base this review on that. Cheese & cracker board app was good with flavored hummus. Calamari was plain & bland. Croque Monsieur sandwich seemed the same & came with no side for a dinner entree. Just a bit overpriced for me for what you get, which was nothing extra and nothing that would bring me back.

Great wine bar with nice atmosphere and innovative food concepts. My wife and I stop in from time to time, usually on a Friday evening. The food has always been nothing less than perfect, although the portions are small and the price is a bit high, but it's creative and more in line with refined tastes. I can't imagine anyone who likes coneys really taking a genuine liking to Cork or vice versa. I'm not a Coney dog kind of guy, and with a background in the culinary arts from way back in the day, I prefer this type of restaurant in town because I think I have a more refined palette, so obviously, I want something worthwhile when I dine out, especially when I'm going to drop good money on a meal. It's not an everyday kind of place. It's perfect as a date night hot spot or splitting a very nice bottle of wine. They have the Enomatic wine machine in the back. To me, it's a great value, especially if you are a wine snob or are just curious about trying a variety of good wines. The value adds up if you are going to use it, but not if you aren't a wine drinker. It has started getting pretty crowded lately and if your party hasn't reserved a table on the weekend, you will have a tough time getting seated if there are more than two of you together. You'll probably have to sit at the bar so long as doing so doesn't faze you. I recommend calling ahead for dinner if it's Friday or Saturday just so you don't get disappointed in being turned away at the door or having to sit at the bar with a stranger between you and your guest. We had to walk out the last time because it was simply too busy and it was only 6 p.m., but that a party of 12 was seated at reserved tables already. The atmosphere is quiet and intimate, perfect for date night dinners or a quiet drink. I wish they were open for often for lunch, but they usually only serve lunch on Fridays at this point. There was a time when they were open on Thursday for lunch, too, but not anymore. Best on the menu are the cheese board, salmon sandwich, baked macaroni and cheese, and Pomme frites, but the menu changes throughout the year. What you had a few months ago could not necessarily remain on the menu during your next visit. It's happened to my wife and I. We were looking forward to one dish and it was gone, only to reappear again on the menu later. I've had the best dry martinis and Manhattan's here. The craft beer selection is decent and and the choice of wines is mind boggling. The service has never been anything other than courteous and polite. If there has been a problem with getting seated or waiting for our order, the manager has always come to the rescue. Quality food and service in an upscale location.

Mahi Mahi Tacos. Could use just a little kick.

It can be. It's definitely not a place for riff raff. Check their social media, they sometimes have special music nights. Many FSO goers frequent here before the Saturday symphony. Make a reservation just in case. You won't be out of place…

So I brought a bread tag all the way from Lansing to the Soogy Bottom in Flint just to put it in a burger? That sounds ridiculous! I never even asked for my food to be comped. And the waiter even said, "no, they never asked. That was me." I didn't even expect it to be comped. I was planning on paying full price. Then he said, "good because you are. You are a liar." Then tried to say he never accused me. You just did, by saying I put it in my food to get my meal comped and called me a liar. It escalated into a extremely heated argument. He said, "I am a manager so it's my job to be a prick" umm no sir, that is NOT how a manager should act. I definitely can afford a sandwich and fries. He needs to be fired! I went here all of the time as a college student when it was known as the Backroom and later I dropped in once in awhile when it was called Kelly's, until it was sold and became the Loft. Yep, it's a dive bar, always has been and always will be, but the really good old days of the dive bar experience here are sadly gone. As dive bars go, I've seen better and I've seen worse. In fact, if look up the phrase "dive bar," you will probably come across a picture of the Loft. You can't order food here, the "dance floor" is tiny, the music is sometimes good, sometimes not. Don't let me get started on the parking situation- it's terrible and you might as well make a mad dash to wherever you managed to park your car when you leave! It's actually laughable. Some of the cocktails are a bit overpriced for what you are getting (sometimes weak or improperly made), but service largely depends on if you are regular or friend of a friend. Random strangers probably tend to get the short end of the stick. I admit, I've gotten free drinks here before, but that's because the staff knows me. Rodney, the owner, is a great guy, but sometimes the bar runs out of essentials, like premium spirits and mixers. I wish the bar staff would just get it together and make certain that the bar is properly stocked to avoid having to order something alternative because they're out of the appropriate ingredients. Beer selection is just average, but they do carry Stella Artois, one of my favorites, so the Loft has that going for itself. While I don't particularly care for most of their cocktails (either too sweet or extremely tart- so much for a happy medium), the bartenders do make a good mojito and a decent old fashioned, though. My preferred cocktail is a whisky sour, which is pretty easy to make and the last few I ordered kinda sucked. They just didn't taste right, too tart. More often than not, I haven't cared for the vibe, the atmosphere, etc. There are just way too many barfly types hanging around drinking draft beer all night. Plus, I often run into an ex or two here and that's just bad mojo all around...

We just bought round after round after round. They made our car bombs out of Bushmill's whiskey which was a huge plus! I love dive bars and I wouldn't call this one a dive exactly, but the atmosphere is definitely NOT one where you want to drink expensive specialty martinis and eat tapas while toting your designer bag around. It's more like the place that gets really cozy when you go there regularly. Torn jeans, comfy white T-shirt, your busted Cons. I definitely would go do some major chugging with my Flint town crew if I was back around there.

Excellent customer service and attention to detail, very nice array of wines, craft beer, seltzer waters, sake etc.. the wine selection is really something.. we've stopped in several times since they opened last year and it's a pleasure to patronize such a great local independent business. Apparently, the shop's theme was modeled after the "The Queen's Gambit," hence the name and the large display of chess boards in the lounge. They have a nice seating/dine in area for eating, drinking, relaxing and even playing chess on one of the many boards they keep around for guests. They have free wifi as well. The atmosphere is great for relaxing with friends over a glass of Merlot and cheese board and maybe even a rousing game of chess. I love the decor and eclectic, bohemian touches. They have 'build your own' or already customized charcuterie boards- and the cheeses apparently come from Hills Cheese shop in the Flint Farmers Market downtown. Prices are not the cheapest yet completely in alignment with the quality. The owner is super nice and very helpful in terms of helping select wine pairings and checking out hidden gems in the wine/beer display.
