They're so called "contract" is just an email, and if your Wedding runs longer than expected, they will just TAKE the money out of your account. Upon called Mark, the owner, he refused to refund me the amount he over charged me for getting to our reception venue 25 minutes behind schedule. Not only did Mark not ask, email or notify us that he was going to do that, it was charged to our card as being 40 minutes behind schedule. Mark is a lying businessman, purely in it for money, not your experience on your special day. Save yourself the trouble, and invest in vendors helping to make your day special, not ROB you blind. read more

Gateway saved the day for my family yesterday. My sister was traveling from New York to Vermont and thanks to an accident in Midtown, the MTA stalled leaving her stranded, thus missing her Amtrak train. The rest of the trains (and buses) to Vermont were sold out through Christmas and she thought she wasn't going to make it home. Queue Gateway. My sister was able to book a train to New Haven and while she was doing that, I called Gateway inquiring if they could have a car in New Haven. I called them at 12:30 and the train was scheduled to arrive at 2:08pm. The lady was very honest, saying that she had to talk to dispatch and see if they could get a driver in to pick up a car and have them head out to New Haven in time to pick up my sister. After a short hold on the phone, she picked back up and told me that, while my sister might have to wait a bit, they did have a driver willing to come in. This was no small drive...the drive was going to take 2 hours from New Haven to Vermont and the driver would be on the road for over 4 hours. The fact that they were able to get someone in and send someone to bring her home for Christmas was awesome. The driver was 40 minutes late, but we were warned, so technically, I suppose - that's not late when we were told in advance he would arrive after the train's arrival. He drove my sister up to Vermont and delivered her safely to our family. For that, we are grateful! read more

I used Gateway Limo to rent a party bus to bring my family (about 16 of us) to Yankee stadium for the day as a birthday surprise. WING IT ON CONSUMER ALERT - NEVER use Gateway Limousine - Connecticut Wedding Limousines for ANYTHING. Wing It On! had a special party bus trip planned tonight for all of our hardworking employees which we booked back on November 26th. We called yesterday to confirm and to ask about what connectors they had for playing music on the bus. The response was "Oh, the stereo was broken the other week so there won't be any music on the bus." I thought that was really messed up that they were just going to give us a broken bus with no music (which is more than half the fun of renting a party bus!!) when we were paying over $1500 for the night...so we asked for a very small discount for our inconvenience. Not half off, or anything unreasonable, just something for our troubles. The owner of the company said they were not interested in giving us any sort of discount. Fast forward to today. we called at 430 pm to ask if we could move the 6 pm pickup back a half hour so that everyone could get there due to the inclimate weather. The response was "Sure, but we are going to charge you for an extra half hour (even though we were given no discount for the broken bus they were giving us). Later, I get a phone call at 5:35 pm when our pickup was scheduled 25 minutes later saying "Hey it's Gateway Limo, we are cancelling all limo's and buses for tonight.".....25 MINUTES BEFORE OVER 20 PEOPLE FROM AS FAR AWAY AS NEWTOWN WERE ON THEIR WAY THEY CALL TO CANCEL. If anyone knows any good, reputable limousine companies let us know, WIO would still like to take its employees out for a night on the town and use a company that DESERVES our business!! read more

Mark and team are professional, punctual, and provide a great service for a reasonable price. Our group of 15+ people was easily accommodated in their new and roomy bus. The interior was immaculate and well stocked with ice and beverages. Clean champagne glasses in special holders on the rear wall were a nice touch. The group loved the Bluetooth sound system which allowed us all to sing along to pandora or whatever our smartphones could whip up. We had booked the wine and brewery tour with Gateway through friends and can honestly say that the entire event went extremely smoothly and even my wife who gets carsick easily was fine on the highway and back roads. Maybe it's the lighting or smooth suspension in the bus, but we were very impressed even on the rough parts of I84 mixmaster it was smooth inside. After being stranded in NYC years ago by a different limo company, finding a reliable company became my top priority when traveling for fun or business. We could not recommend Gateway enough for your wedding transportation needs. We had a large gap in between our ceremony and reception and Gateway worked with us to get the best package possible and allowed us to update our times and destinations with ease. The scheduling and payment process was seamless as well. The driver showed up 30 minutes early, was very attentive while we were on the bus, and helped load/unload the coolers and bags we had with us. The 25 person bus was also so much fun to transport our wedding party from the church to the reception venue, it has lights, a TV and great sound system. Everything was incredibly clean as well. We used Gateway for transportation to/from a cruise in New York. We had a group of 14 family members and used one of their shuttle buses. The trip down went perfectly. The trip home had a few things happen that were not what you would expect from a limo service, but the owner Mark was amazing. When I called to discuss the problems we had, he was very apologetic and sincere. More businesses should take lessons on customer service from him! After flying for almost 16 hours my Gateway driver had no clue where I was at the airport even though I gave him a specific door number at Newark Airport. Then when he kept going on and on that he was where I was (he wasn't) then he became verbally adversarial (on the phone) . I said not one word to him on the over 2 hour drive back to my home in CT until it came time to give him local directions to my home. I will be hard pressed to ever use them ever again as they have normally been very good especially Art. read more

Everything from booking, to the day of transportation, ran so smoothly! The ladies in the office were so kind and personable when I called to book a limo for our wedding day. Were even kind to give us a discounted quote when we contemplated using a town car for my Grandmother, which we didn't end up needed. Our limo driver showed up early, was very kind and professional as well, and helped with everything - getting all our bags into the trunk, helping all of us in and out of the limo, he was amazing! He even kept us on schedule as we were taking our photographs before the ceremony to ensure we weren't late. He also did his research while waiting for us to get into the limo during photos, and noted that the highway was backed up due to an accident, so he took back roads to ensure we weren't late. For my bachelorette/birthday weekend, myself and 7 of my girlfriends decided to go to Atlantic City. The 4 hour drive to and from AC couldn't have been any better. Gus was our driver and was amazing. He took such good care of us. You could imagine how tough a 4 hour drive could be, but he always gave us ETA's and let us know when there was a rest stop. One of my girls HAD to go and Gus got off the next stop no problem. He always counted us to always make sure we got safely in and out of the limo. He was very personable and we felt safe with him! I'm so upset that he doesn't drive a party bus for my wedding day. If you need a limo driver, GUS IS THE MAN!! He even got us bottles of champagne to and from AC. This company is probably the worst that I've ever dealt with the driver was an obnoxious person with a with a nasty attitude and was not professional at all I spoke to the owner about having something done the driver got us to our dinner reservation two hours later than we made them and we were only in New York City a very common destination, he was uncooperative in figuring out how to get there on time and had an attitude the entire evening when I spoke to the owner in hopes of having something refunded to me because of all the inconvenience after paying $1500 for the night for my son to enjoy his 30th bday I would've expected the owner to at least help justify this situation in some way and instead I was dealt with a terrible attitude and a completely biased opinion! I work in the customer service industry and I have never dealt with anything this terrible. I do not recommend them if you are looking to enjoy your evening! This company should not provide party buses if they intend on ruining their guests nights! Use anyone else just not this company! Thank you read more

I booked a 6-person limousine ride with Gateway. I initially picked Gateway because their prices far beat anyone else out there. I was a bit leary by that fact assuming the service would not be that great. I was proved wrong. The price was amazing, the service was just as great! I highly recommend this company for our limousine touring pleasure. The driver promptly picked us up at our house, drove to our winery destination, followed by dinner, and back home. We had no problems whatsoever. The driver was attentive to time and provided input and suggestions on proceeding without being overbearing. His input was very welcome. Furthermore, the driver was conversational and told great stories to keep us entertained. We had a blast driving around CT. The only complains I had is it is a bit tight for 6 people. There are just two seats that face each other, so you have to sit 3 in each seat. It was still comfortable, but it may have been nicer to have seats on the side rather than just front and back. Plus, there was a hump going down the center between the front and rear facing seats, so the person in the middle had to put their feet to one side or the other. Again, not a huge deal, but it is not ideal. I still highly recommend it. read more
