Our waitress, checked in and asked if this was our first visit. It was and she excitedly explained the menu and some suggestions. It was wing night, so when in Rome! Wings are hickory smoked, rendering that fat and then deep fried for a perfect crust. She gladly split the order between sweet chili and the perfect heat hot (buffalo) sauces. We both opted for the two meat plates sampling the brisket, pulled pork & Cheese Stuffed Andouille Sausage along with our sides of Brown Sugar-Bourbon Baked Beams, Pickled Red Beets, Mac & Cheese and mixed vegetables. Let's start with the sides; these are not stuff thrown on the plate. They were tasty and perfect companions to the meats. Brisket and pork were moist with plenty of smoke. The sausage, crisp casing and plenty juicy. No rack full of barbecue sauces here, just the deep flavored house sauce that perfectly paired with the meats. Plan on asking for to go boxes, the portions aren't a joke. No room for desert tonight, but the waitress made sure we knew about the other weekly specials. We'll be back soon(and will post an update) for the Hickory Smoked Prime Rib. And I can't forget about the building and dining rooms. Charming, the scent of wood smoke as soon as you get out of your car. Lots of respect for the historic building.

This Hampton Inn was hands down the best. We stayed here while enjoying a weekend in the Poconos mountains. I'm a gold member and chose my room ahead of time and the room was ready promptly. After enjoying the mountains we headed to the hotel and went right up to the room. I chose a room facing the woods being a snowy weekend it was a beautiful picturesque view. The hotel pool is heated so it was nice to enjoy and get away from the cold. There is a beautiful view of the outside from the pool with an outdoor area for enjoyment during warmer temperatures. The gym was better than I had expected for a hotel gym. There are amble free weights, treadmills, bikes and ellipticals. I was also surprised that there was a peloton. The only thing that I didn't like was the tv signal kept turning off, but I had brought my laptop so I enjoyed watching a movie on there instead. The breakfast was what your would normally expect from a Hampton inn. There were eggs, potatoes, cereal and a waffle station. I would definitely stay here when in the Poconos again!

The toilet was not cleaned, there was a dead bug on the floor, and the bathtub was so dirty that we wouldn't even consider taking a shower in it. The bed skirt was ripped, and the condition of the hallways was also poor with mold throughout. When I brought these issues to the front desk, the housekeeping manager happened to be there. After I told her our room number, she said, "Oh, that room should've never been rented. It hasn't been rented in a long time, so it needed to be cleaned." Clearly, it was not cleaned at all before we were checked into it. For a hotel brand that usually maintains high standards, this was unacceptable. I hope management takes immediate steps to refund my money and ensure rooms are properly inspected and cleaned before being assigned to guests. I would give 0 stars if app allowed it.

They were warm, polite, friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. They're not only made me forget about the terrible experience I had, but the service which is so excellent that I would definitely come back here and stay. I don't understand why this place isn't rated five stars, but it's definitely a five star hotel from the perspective of the quality of customer service that you will receive here that you won't receive at some higher in hotels. I just left a resort in this community where I wasn't treated as spectacularly as I was here. I've had a five star experience here from start to finish.

We booked our recent trip through Expedia, which is something we've done before and never had any issues. The front desk worker had great difficulty checking us in and needed 2 others to help her complete it. We had pre-paid for our room and she tried to charge us again for the room and only stopped when I questioned the charges. It was also very difficult to get our room serviced; housekeeping occurs every other day, which is no big deal except when they never came on our designated day (we were out of our room by 10). We spoke to the front desk clerk who put us on the list for the following day, so we thought things were resolved. However, one of the housekeepers repeatedly banged on our door ~8 AM the next morning and would not stop until we came to the door. This was done to ask what time we wanted service, which is something that's never happened in all of the years that we've been staying in hotels. The room was clean overall and the shower pressure was good, but the poor service overall made for a poor experience and we won't be coming back again.

I'm currently staying at this Holiday Inn while my father is in hospice care, and although the property itself is new, clean, and nicely updated with decent amenities, my experience has been extremely disappointing. This hotel caters to large wedding parties, many of whom treat the building as a second party venue rather than a hotel. Despite being assigned to the "quiet floor" and being warned at check-in about potential noise, my first night included what felt like a full-blown frat party in the hallway. After a sleepless night, I suggested the hotel consider simple courtesy signage--similar to what some bars use--to remind guests to respect others as they return to their rooms. This is a reasonable, basic step, and it shouldn't fall on guests to propose it. An even more concerning issue was the front desk service. When I asked for matches to light a candle to say a prayer for my father, I fully expected a polite safety-related decline. Instead, the employee said, "100% no problem--promise you will burn this place to the ground." Whether meant as a joke or not, it was wildly inappropriate, unprofessional, and deeply unsettling given the circumstances. When I asked another staff member the following evening if I should expect another night like the first, the response was simply, "That's how people are these days." No reassurance, no ownership, and no sense of hospitality. Overall, the lack of guest control, poor handling of disruptive events, coupled with shockingly unprofessional staff interactions have made an already difficult time even harder. I hope management addresses these issues, because the property has potential--but right now, the guest experience falls far short of acceptable.

We love staying at a B&B rather than a chain hotel when we can. We took advantage of the Crayola Experience package, which is offered for either of the two-room suites that accommodate up to four guests. The main room has a King. The second room (more or less a sitting area on the way to the bathroom) has a twin with a trundle that can accommodate two kids. The package can be booked for a single night and includes admission tickets for up to four people, a Crayola gift pack for each kid, and a tray of snacks. Ours included some fabulous homemade peanut butter cookies! We booked two nights (the additional night was less than the first with the package). As a family of three we basically broke even on the additional package price vs. buying our own tickets, gift, and snacks. But this is vacation and to have that all taken care of plus the fun surprise for our daughter waiting in the room made it more than worth it. Lafayette has a comfortable, family feel. The wrap-around porch was a great place to sit (and run if you're a toddler) and everyone made my daughter feel welcome. By the second day she was calling it "our new house." The breakfast menu for the next day was posted in foyer each night. We had made-to-order omelets with choice of bacon or sausage each morning with different fresh fruit and homemade baked goods each day. Yogurt, cereal, and a variety of breads were also available. There were to-go cups for coffee along with mugs. Pastries plus coffee, tea, hot chocolate, whole fruit, and sodas were available all the time in the parlor. Having a DVD player in the room allowed us to have a family movie night. We brought our own, but the front desk also had lots to borrow. Only wish we had had some popcorn!
