Love the food but the customer service just gets worse and worse. Tonight we were told that the kitchen wouldn't allow us to order appetizers with our drinks; we had to submit our whole order together. All delish once it arrived but every time I visit it's a new rule - no appetizer orders, no separate checks, if our group of 10 wanted to have brunch all we could order was scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. We arrived on a Thursday evening for a nice meal. I was 9 months pregnant. We stood in the restaurant for 30 minutes and they did not acknowledge us. I felt awkward. Generally, I'm not a lover of gnocci. It's good, but I prefer my pasta in strings rather than dumpling style. This place made me change my mind. We went with my aunt-in-law for a quick lunch and I was so glad we decided to stop in. Hubby ordered the gnocci and it was amazing. I had to force myself to eat off my plate instead of his, so that he would have something to eat. It's funny b/c he ended up liking my food better than his. I got the caprese salad, which was so fresh and light. The basil was powerfully flavorful and complimented the fresh tomatoes perfectly. Auntie had a salad that was big enough to serve a family of 6! She gave us each a huge sample and still had plenty for herself. I don't even think she was able to finish it all. We also shared the gazpacho which had a beautiful pink color and was so crisp. The only blip was the waitress adding cheese when Hubby specifically asked for no cheese. We didn't have time to wait while they brought another plate, so she was gracious enough to remove his meal from the bill. We have been eating at Gathering Together Farm Restaurant for over 10 years, so we were very excited to have dinner on their first Saturday opening on April 8. As usual, the food was very good, but I can only give them a 3 star due to the horrible service we received. None of the former servers were working that night and the ones working seemed to be struggling with servicing the tables. Perhaps there was a shortage of kitchen help, but it took forever for our order to be taken and for our food to arrive. Requests for water and other beverages took forever too. We had an out of town guest with us, so we were sadly disappointed with the evening dinner experience. We are hoping this was just a glitch. read more

I loved the idea of this place, so my husband and I visited a few nights ago. We were left waiting by the "please wait to be seated sign" for quite a while then the waitress asked if we had a reservation. When we responded no, she acted like it was a lot of trouble for her to go find out if there were any spots available. She found out there were and she did seat us promptly. I got a fresh squeezed lemonade and my husband got a beer, we got 2 appetizers: a goat cheese pear thing and a salad, then we shared a pizza. Overall the food was a little bland and the prices were very high. Portions were small and the menu was quite limited. More importantly, I felt the waitress was judgemental of our choices and I noticed that she definitely spent more time on the tables that were spending more money. Maybe it would be better for lunch or breakfast but we actually left hungry enough that we stopped at another restaurant on the way home, which I have never had to do before. read more

We've only ever had 2 menu items from there so comment on those. The fresh made doughnuts are fabulous. The best around bar none. These doughnuts kick Voodoo Doughnuts in Eugene's butt. The other items we tried were the wood fired pizza. We thought the pizza was terrible. So, go get some wicked good doughnuts and skip the pizza. read more

Hands down the beat pistachio french toast ever! But then this place has the most creative and fresh menu I had seen in a very long time. Coffee was amazing, seating is not large so come early or expect to wait. Fresh, wonderful and priced well. Best place around. I love it! read more

This is a gem of a place outside of Philomath. Since it's a full-time working organic farm you can expect to see the crews driving in and out all day bringing the freshest produce to the kitchen. We love to sit on the outdoor deck and watch the farm in action. The food is fresh and healthy and their menu seems to change every week. The soups are great, homemade and delicious. They have a whole pastry case of homemade goodies, including our favorite, potato donuts. The donuts come in plain, cinnamon and sugar and chocolate dipped. They also have a earthen oven outside to cook pizza. I've never had the pizza, but I have to assume that they're just as good as everything else. I just signed up for our first wine dinner with them, really excited. They give you a tour of the farm, then dinner served with wine from a specific winery. Can't wait! As an added bonus you can buy their produce right there almost year round. Everyone is friendly and you can tell that they really enjoy what they do. Go and try it, then spread the word! read more

Went On a Saturday around 12.00. They were out of both soups. Had 1 entree left. We ordered eggs instead. Had to wait a long time. The temperature in the restaurant was cold, making our wait verylong and uncomfortable. When we did get our food, it was cold! Would not go again. Took a scone to go, and was not impressed. read more

The atmosphere was charmingly rustic, and the food was quite good. The experience was only hampered by our waitress who clearly had issues with men. She was curt with me, and all her attention was directed at my wife, whose derrierre she checked out as we departed. read more

Had a very disappointing dinner at GT last night. I have been many times for lunch and always enjoyed it. I had made a reservation for 2 and specifically asked for a patio table and mentioned it was a special birthday for my husband. This was confirmed 2 times. When we arrived, there was no table. After complaining to us that we would have to wait while she "rearranged the whole dining room" by the hostess, we said we would sit upstairs. Oh, she said, we have a table under a similar name here for 3 people, are there 3 of you? The lighting was awful, bright spot lights and absolutely no ambiance. The food wasn't bad but not great. I have had much better at lunch time. The salumi starter was thrown together, piled high with doorstep sized chunks of bread and one had already been spread with one of the patés (which wasn't nice actually) No care had gone into the presentation. The bacon pizza was extremely salty and even though I had requested extra garlic, I couldn't detect any. It was also soggy in the middle. I took it home and tried to crisp it up for hubby's lunch. The lamb ragu wasn't bad but a bit gamey. My husband ordered a glass of wine which was nice, but I could not believe how small the measure was! Two gulps and it was gone. He later ordered a glass of red which was slightly bigger but still a very small portion. If you want wine, buy it buy the bottle or take your own for $6 corkage. The next table had folks with very loud voices explaining in great detail how to row a boat, including lying on 2 chairs to demonstrate. Not a very romantic evening for sure. We left within an hour very unhappy. When you exit the patio, there is not a single light on the stone steps, unbelievable! Then the parking lot was pitch black. Difficult to find your car and then stepped in a big puddle and soaked my foot and got mud over my pants. read more

Would have liked to give this a five star review but there was some glaring flaws. We went here for breakfast. The environment is really nice - loved the beautiful wood table and the fact that everything wasn't perfectly matched and symmetrical. The food was quite good - the veggie omelet was tasty. The service was incredibly slow - we were one of the first people to arrive and waited 15 minutes to get coffee and our order placed. It seemed that one additional food server would have made all the difference. The hubby went to the store/counter and bought a baguette to munch on while we waited for someone to take our order. He didn't like the baguette so much - it was really really dry and burnt. Baguettes with a little brown and lots of outside crunch with soft middles are bread perfection - we did not get that this time. We may come back with out of town friends who are a little pretentious. If we could only find a breakfast spot where everyone walks away happy... read more
