This was a great experience. I couldn't come in with my first cat due to limited parking. But when I finally did get parked and came in, she was sitting on the floor with my cat on her chest, deshedding her belly fur. My cat was so comfortable with her! I wish I had taken a picture but I didn't want to spoil the moment. My second cat; who does not like being picked up was equally comfortable and at ease when I brought her the following weekend. Eliya is truly a cat whisperer. She loves what she does and that is obvious in the care she takes. I brought in a Persian cat that was really grumpy. I had only had him for a week and he had some matting that needed attention badly. I'm so glad I found the Gato Salon. She is so well worth it. She is communicative - I believe she's a one person show so text her and she'll get back to you when she's between clients. She was able to get me in same day luckily! She lets the cat walk around and explore. Her energy works so well with the cats - it's like there is a mutual understanding. I'm a new cat mother. I hadn't had luck clipping my cat's nails. I went with Gato Salon because of the amazing reviews for nervous cats and I can confirm that I agree after my experience there. Eliya is so calm and gave my cat time to relax before starting. She treated my cat as if she was her own. During the process I was shocked that my cat looked even sleepy! I liked that the space was very quiet, cute, and intimate so I could stay with my cat during the process. My cat is shy and nervous but was noticeably more calm on the way home after spending time with Eliya. Eliya is by far the best cat groomer in Los Angeles. We took our 11 year old persian cat to her after our previous groomer was no longer working. It was the best decision made for our cat. I had never been to a cat groomer before but my female cat Ro had a urinary issue about a week prior where she ended up peeing on herself. Even after getting a sanitary shave at the vet Ro still had some urine in her fur on her back legs and smelled a little off. I had tried to use a couple different "waterless shampoos" until I finally gave up and started research cat groomers in my area and came across Eliya at Gato Salon. I cannot say enough great things about my experience. I loved being able to text with Eliya prior to the grooming to really let her know my concerns and tell her about Ro's temperament (and I even sent her pictures of Ro's behind to show her exactly what areas were the problem !!) As soon as I arrived and stepped inside I couldn't believe how cute it was ! Eliya was so calming and gentle with Ro. I understood that it was a possibility that Ro might need to have even MORE fur shaved off to get rid of the urine smell and I let Eliya know I was okay with that. She slowly shaved off areas and even let me "approve" the amount before bathing her, which I greatly appreciated. The entire process took about 45-60 minutes and Ro emerged looking happy and silkier than ever !! I highly highly recommend Eliya at Gato Salon. What a great find this was! My cat, Chase, had been treated for fleas at the vet but needed a bath to get rid of all of the flea dirt that was on him. After googling "cat groomers", I found Gato Salon and what a blessing that was! Eliya was able to bathe, clip, clean, and beautify him without any sedation at all and without getting bitten (at least, that's what she said - maybe she was being polite?) which is amazing since he's a ferocious beast when he wants to be - I have the scars to prove it.
