I brought my cat (Cheddar) to this place because I believed he had fleas. And in fact, he did! This location is very small, but you can tell everything is handled with a ton of love and care. Mary (the owner) makes the effort to make your cat feel as comfortable as possible. I was very impressed that she took the time to greet Cheddar when we arrived. You can tell she loves what she does! We took Fluffy, a neighbourhood cat who is about 20 years old, to get groomed after a tenant in my building reported him as a stray. He was very dirty and flea-ridden, and he has a few health issues, but without being the owner, I did not feel entitled to intervene on his behalf until that point. Mary was so amazing--we came by accident on a day that she was closed. Still, she opened the door for us and spent over 2 hours patiently tending to Fluffy, who was afraid and sensitive, very non-compliant at times. This lady was MAGIC with my Sabrina! I am so glad that I came across her website last week. Sabrina does not have the courage of a lion though she's a big girl. She's a rescue and must have some maincoon in her as she is bigger and flooflier than all 4 of her older siblings. She STRESSES out easily and taking her for a sanitary trim is a big deal for us. Unfortunately, getting anything stuck to her backside after using the litter box stresses her out even more! The groomer was so sweet, kind and gentle to Sabrina. I usually have to hold her during her trim but this lady put some crazy spell over her from the first moment! She got Sabrina on her back and side and managed to do the trim with a few fingers resting on her chest. Under some magical spell Sabrina just laid there while the groomer did her work. As a crazy cat mom--stop your search here! This is THE ONE! At first, I was taken aback by the detailed requirements on her website. I thought, This lady might be way too strict--maybe even a mean Karen. But I couldn't have been more wrong. She's the sweetest little Korean lady, and one thing is certain: she LOVES cats and is absolutely GREAT with them. I may have lucked out because my cats were the only ones there, which is amazing. I have two cats, so I'm sure they kept her hands full, but I loved that it's just her running everything--no assistants or chaos. The place is spotlessly clean. I have diagnosed OCD, and trust me, if I say it's clean, it's immaculate. This was my first visit, and she immediately stood out from other groomers. Instead of barely glancing at the carrier and chatting with me like most places do, she took my cats straight to the back, placed them on the floor, got down on the floor with them, and gently opened the bag to greet each one. She took the time to get a feel for their personalities firsthand, which I thought was so thoughtful. After all, no matter what an owner says, you won't really know how a cat will behave until you interact with them yourself. My Persians are super chill, so they just peeked their heads out at her curiously--but I loved how she handled the introduction. She clearly knows what she's doing! The grooming process took about three hours for both cats, which was great. I waited in my car and didn't mind at all--I just scrolled on my phone. Next time, though, I'll probably head home since it's only a 10-minute drive each way. When I picked them up, I was stunned. She was holding my older, more skittish cat like she was the most relaxed, everyday lap cat. I can't even hold my own cat like that! She told me that my nervous cat doesn't like the grooming table, so she figured out that holding her and working on the floor in her arms and lap made her much calmer. That level of attentiveness and care blew me away--most groomers wouldn't bother to accommodate a cat like that, let alone think to try. She even noted it in her system to remember for next time. As for my boy Persian? No special notes needed--he's easy and was a breeze for her to groom. I can't believe I hadn't found her sooner. What initially drew me in was her advertisement for no anesthesia grooming. I didn't think anyone used anesthesia, but my last experience at a Koreatown groomer proved me wrong--my cats were strange and lethargic for days afterward. After today's grooming, my cats came home perfectly normal, happy, and hungry! No weird behavior or after-effects whatsoever. Pricing was very reasonable: $150 per cat, which is about what I expected since I keep up with their grooming regularly. I was worried she might charge more since it had been a couple of months, but she didn't. I tipped $50 on top of the $300 because she earned every penny. This groomer is the real deal. Her personality, skill, and ability to communicate with cats are unmatched. She understands that cats need to be worked with, not against--a huge contrast to those who handle cats like dogs, which only terrifies them. I've dealt with chaotic dual groomers that take dogs and cats at the same time, and I can't tell you how relieved I am to have found a calm, quiet, clean place where my cats feel safe. When we got home and I looked him over to initially admire the work provided, I noticed an overwhelming majority of my kitten's nails were not trimmed, and his ears and butt were still dirty. When I brought the missed nail care to Mary's attention via text, the response was defensive and argumentative. I sent photos to illustrate. Mary offered to "do it again" if I came back.
