I deal with Dave Smith at Gattos. He is highly competent and not out to rip people off. Another mechanic in town claimed I needed $2000 worth of work on the car and Dave was one of the mechanics who took a look at the car and confirmed that was not the case. I stopped in to ask about a problem with the dash AC on my 2012 I think last year about 152,000 class C Sunseeker. I described to the technicians what I was experiencing and they seemed to know right away what the issue was from my description. I made an appointment the following week dropped the RV at 8 AM and by 3:30. They had diagnosed the issue with the AC and had completed the fix and had totally gone over the air conditioning system which needed a recharge. They did an oil change and recharged the AC system, checked all the fluids belts hoses and checked the tire pressures. The bill was very reasonable and the AC is working great and my RV is ready for a trip. All the gentlemen that I speak with are very knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. I've used this location several times over the years to get oil changes and various small work done to my cars. Recently, one of their lead mechanics, David, helped point out the misdiagnosis of another shop (not Gattos) that could have cost a lot of unnecessary money. For this reason, I'm compelled to leave this positive review. Staff and management in these places come and go, but I can recommend this place at least in regard to this individual. read more

I drive an older car and asked them to do a "Road Trip Special" on it before I left town. See the photo of the coupon attached indicating that in addition to an oil change they would top off all the fluids, check the brakes, belts, and hoses, among other things. When I was paying the bill at the counter I asked how everything looked. The fellow looked confused but then said that everything was fine and had been checked out. Something just did not seem right so I had someone else check the car out later that day. It turned out that the power steering and brake fluids were low, there was almost no washer fluid, and a brake light was out. They had not checked anything. The real problem is that they told me that they had. I called Gatto's to see what happened but no one would addressed my concerns. What a shame. read more

It is very difficult to find trustworthy auto mechanics. As a breed, they're not trying to save you any money -- just the opposite. When I arrived, I told him I needed a new battery. Even so, they charged me $19.95 for a system diagnostic test. When I called them to complain, the guy on the phone said he needed to test the alternator. Which is the only electrical component readable in the dashboard at 14.5 mV. The AAA guy told me I needed a new battery and I told the guy at Gatto's that I needed a new battery, and BAM! There's a system diagnostic test now that I had to pay for. Wouldn't it be nice if the mechanic was trying to save me some money? You know I still paid $200 for the battery. Which is even high as batteries go. He was talking up the three-year warranty, but most batteries last four years. I guess for a few weeks, I have to light my cigarettes with ones instead of hundreds. Gonna be rough. I will never go back there. I cannot believe how difficult it is to find a trustworthy mechanic in central Florida. Can you believe it was easier in South Florida? If only they knew how many times I brought my lunch to work to scrape together the amount they stole from me thoughtlessly. read more

I write this review with a heavy heart. For the past two years, we have been using Gatto's in Cocoa for repairs on my older vehicles. Up until this point, there were a few things that should have triggered something but being loyal, I kept going back. This was the last time they will get a penny of my money. The very first time, I was charged and paid $400 for a tensioner repair and got in the car and it was still broken. They kept my car for another entire day and fixed it correctly. The next time, I brought it in for a headlight repair on Honda Civic, you have to remove the clips from bumper and hood, which they did but didn't put back so the plastic was flapping in the wind. I also brought in my other car for repair with printout with what the code was for check engine light. I was charged an additional $85 for them to tell me again what was wrong with the car when I literally handed them the paper with required repairs. And then this very last time, I brought it in for a power steering pump leak that they told me about a week before when I brought it in becuz I thought it was leaking oil. But they said it was the pump but they didn't have time to fix it that day and I brought it back a week later at 8am on a scheduled appt. They kept the car all day long and at 5pm called to tell me it was the steering pump ‍ I told Ron we already knew what was wrong, we were waiting for repair to be done. He then said it will be $800. I was done at that point with them and I would be there to pick up the car. I had the steering pump repaired for less then $200 so I'm not sure if he just wanted to be done for quoting me $800 or if they just overcharge these crazy amounts. Unless u have a ton of money and time to waste, I wouldn't choose this place to save my life. read more

Great service. I'm from out of town and needed my tires balanced. I had to wait a little bit because it was Saturday and there were lots of people in front of me but ultimately they got the job done and it was cheaper than what I was quoted on the phone. Seemed very nice and helpful. It turns out that one of my toyo tires which I got from an online dealer is defective and Gatto's offered to help in anyway they can with getting the defective tire replaced from the manufacturer. I called the online dealer and am now in the process of doing the paper work and getting all the numbers from the defective tire for to start the process. I'll have the online dealer ship it to Gatto's if I'm still in town. Gatto's did not install the new tires. That was done by a different shop and that shop did not find the defective tire issue. read more

I'm new to the area and chose Gatto's for my auto repair based on the excellent reviews I read. I'm glad I did. This establishment provided me excellent and trustworthy service. All staff were incredibly polite, knowledgeable, fair and courteous. I appreciate the fact that I can take comfort in knowing that when I leave my car here for repairs I won't be conned, overcharged or ripped off. There is nothing more important to me than the safety of my family so I was thrilled when Gatto's was able to diagnose and fix our daughters vehicle, which broke down on me with my grand babies in the car while I was visiting! I barely made it from their school to Gatto's and was thrilled they could take it in immediately saying. " we have children with children too and know how important a safe vehicle is". It's been twenty four years since I needed to take any of my vehicles to a repair shop. I've always been able to repair my trucks and cars, until this past month. I spend hours attempting to diagnosis and repair my 2004 Ford F-250 Super Duty. Finally, I had reached the point where it was beyond my ability, and after asking around, and reading many reviews I choose Gatto's Commerial Truck Center. I arrived late Friday afternoon, twenty minutes after they closed, but was able to leave my truck over night. I came back first thing Saturday morning, with three pages of notes. David with Gatto's listened as a explained about the issues I was having with my truck. I left feeling as if I had made the right choice, and hoped to hear back from them maybe Monday afternoon. However, I received a call from them the same afternoon, and not only had they diagnosed the issue, but resolved it as well. In addition, the price of the repair was more then reasonable. I will highly recommend Gatto's to anyone concerned with getting a fair price and outstanding customer service. read more

This is not a good place to trust. I learned the hard way when I trusted them for an oil change and now I am giving you a word of caution. They overfilled my oil tank! I will never, ever trust this place with my vehicle again! This experience made me return to the trusted old backyard mechanic! Please be cautious with this Gatto's Tires.
