We love this place and always stop in once while we are camping. They did such a good job with the construction of this lodge and restaurant. Really well done. Great views from the windows of the lake, lots of variety on the menu that please everyone in our group including two teenagers. Big menu for the bar. Even on the busiest weekend in October, we were seated immediately at 7pm on a Friday night. Our server, Michelle, gave us great and quick service with a friendly attitude - the epitome of southern hospitality. My teen son had the southern buffet which he loved. my fiance and i came for lunch today, not terrible but not amazing. it took about 10 min from us getting seated to us finally getting our drinks put in, the sweetest girl was our waitress, she was great! i got the southwestern veggie flatbread, it was good! and their mac n cheese is !! my fiance got the surf n turf, quite pricey for 4 pieces of shrimp and a steak.. and they over cooked his steak as well :/ read more

After reading all the negative reviews about this place, we were a little hesitant about going, but it is the only nice restaurant close to fall Creek Falls State Park plus the views can't get beat. What we found was that we were quickly seated, our server Katie was very attentive, our order was taken quickly, and drinks and food delivered in a very reasonable (not too fast, not too slow) amount of time. My draft beer was ice cold and the wine appropriately chilled. The quality of food and the serving size for the price paid was very reasonable. We shared a margarita flatbread with sweet potato fries, which was very good. The table next to us had a Cobb salad that looked fantastic and the burgers and fries that came for our neighbors also looked good. Maybe we went at the right time of day, maybe it's the time of year to go, but our experience was one that we would definitely return for a future visit. Hopefully they keep doing well. Update.... Went back for a second visit and had the Cobb salad & fish and chips. Again the service was good, and the portions were plentiful. Well, this was certainly an unforgettable dining experience--mainly because I'm still trying to figure out how it went so spectacularly wrong. My food came out in a reasonable time, which almost felt like a mistake considering everyone else at my table waited between 1-2 hours for the most basic orders. We're talking kids' chicken tenders here--something you'd expect to be ready in, oh I don't know, 10 minutes? Apparently not. One poor soul waited an hour and a half for wings that looked like they came off a very malnourished bird. Meanwhile, I was lucky enough to never get a refill on my drink and had to remind them of the fruit and mashed potatoes that just... vanished into the void. But hey, who needs hydration or sides when you've got attitude? Speaking of which, our server was a real gem--hovering somewhere between apathetic and actively unhelpful. At one point, she refused to give food to another table because it wasn't "her table." I guess teamwork isn't on the menu here. The ambience was fine, if your idea of relaxing includes yelling over the crowd. At least there was a nice view through the windows while we waited and waited and waited. And to top it all off, the forced 18% gratuity was a fun little twist. Nothing like being required to tip generously for missing food, microscopic portions, and service that bordered on nonexistent. The restaurant at Fall Creek Falls service was really bad. We waited for an hour and 45 minutes for our food and not a single meal was made right. The serving sizes were very small despite the meals being 20+ dollars. The meals were basic and it was a good thing that the table had plenty of salt and pepper to compensate how bland the food was. The service was very uncooperative and kept not giving people in my group their food. 0/10 Would not recommend for my worst enemy read more

One of the worst experiences ever we came here at 5:15 and some people didn't get there food till 7:00 and one of the waiters had someone's food and said "That's not my table it's not my problem" and walked away with it.The food was mid and took forever to get.One person got the smallest wings ever and took forever to get.And we kept asking for refills and seconds of appetizers and never got them we had to ask twice for a fruit bowl that finally came. read more

The food was ok, kind of hit or miss. The service was extremely slow, waited an hour and a half for fish and chips. In addition, I ordered a second helping of pretzel bites and the waiter said ok and then never came back with them. I wouldn't be bothered by a simple mistake, but it happened to more than 25% of my group. The atmosphere was the only nice thing, it had some good views and was decorated well. read more

While there is room for improvement, this is not to say that you will not thoroughly enjoy your dining experience. The view and ambiance are the stars here but the cuisine will not disappoint. The menu is very basic and a little uninspired but what is served, is delicious. The ambience ultimately will make up for any shortcomings. read more

Beautiful outdoor seating, large portions and very tasty. Service was top notch. Definitely recommend.

Came up for a weekend trip and wanted to try eating at the restaurant at this state run hotel in the lake. Last time here there was a convention of park rangers so we were turned away. First we were able to sit outside overlooking the water as the day transitioned into night. It was wonderful to see the water view as people walked and lived their lives. Some walking dogs and families with their children. The waitress was incredible. Part of the reason is how much she enjoyed her life and the opportunity to work there. Her timing and care was perfect. The reasons why a 4 versus a 5. For the record the location and staff made it a 4 versus a 3. When we arrived at the front desk we felt for over 5 minutes after being seen as if we were invisible - no one even acknowledged us even when we said hello. The special was the catfish dinner - all I can say is WOW! There were 5 nice sized filets with a perfect coating. The fries and hush puppies were wonderful - the Cole slaw was good. My wife had the fish, I had the burger - it was OK but seemed to be a frozen patty. Definitely worth the time and will be back. read more

We arrived and told the hostess that an indoor or outdoor table was fine and the hostess, after a side discussion with another employee, said we needed to wait 10-15 minutes until a table was cleared. We understood and were given a buzzer and asked to have a seat and wait. We grabbed a couple of menus and while deciding what to eat, another hostess sat two other parties ahead of us! We informed the check in hostess that we decided not to eat here since they had sat other parties ahead of us. She offered no resolution or explanation. read more

This restaurant is now called the Lodge Fall Creek Falls Restaurant and is located in the same building as the Inn/Lodge. Food was better than expected for a state park. They were understaffed the night we were there, so the service was a little slow but still pretty good. Best food around, but of course there is no competition nearby. Definitely worth going to if you are staying in the park. read more

We've eaten here twice while staying at the lodge, and dinner was a pleasant surprise. Our first night, we got the smothered chicken and low country pasta. The chicken was dry and needed some sort of sauce. But the pasta was delicious. So good that we had it the second night, along with chicken tenders. The tenders were excellent as well, but were so large/thick. They could stand to be trimmed down to a smaller size so that the chicken/breading ratio is a bit more proportional. The pimiento mac & cheese was also really good. You can skip the spinach artichoke dip - it's below average. If you're staying at the Lodge and expect breakfast, make other plans. The breakfast is embarrassingly poor - cereal, toast, waffle maker, and then things like packets of oatmeal, apples, packaged pastries. No protein at all. Head over to the snack bar by the general store instead, and get a decent breakfast there. read more

Tennessee spent untold millions to update the lodge and restaurant at Fall Creek Falls resulting in a breathtaking, modern facility that is right on the water in the middle of picturesque Fall Creek Falls State Park. And then they took their brand new, beautiful restaurant and built a menu of government grade cafeteria offerings. The food we had was all fine - but that's all it was. We had good service both at our table and at the bar. But this place is dying for just a few simple, well executed local dishes. Seafood on the menu? We have deep fried cod. Why not some local trout? No steak except the ground and smothered kind. Burgers with frozen star shaped patty's. Everything here looked and tasted like it was picked off an Aramark menu. So sad for a place with so much potential! read more

Breakfast is continental- blech. Very limited selection and poor to moderate quality. Lunch and dinner are off a limited menu. Lots of carbs and fats in almost everything. A couple of good items but generally boring and uninspired. Very disappointing considering this place is more than $200 per night. But, they know they have you as there's nothing else anywhere close if you're hungry. Wait staff is nice but this place is a shadow of what it used to be in all other respects except the decor which is ok but doesn't really fit well with the idyllic woodsy setting. They seem more concerned with cost control. read more

Pleasantly surprised since I've heard it's overpriced. I felt the prices were actually quite reasonable. I had the fish tacos, and they were nothing short of Excellent! Husband had the fish and chips, also excellent and large portions. The menu isn't large but I understand they are still having growing pains. Highly recommend, especially if you like fish tacos. read more
