This is a good old fashion buffet with home style cooking. We have always seen this parking lot packed and wanted to see what was it that drew in an over flow parking lot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm reminded of an older homey diner, plenty of seating, plenty of staff assisting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Pre-pay, get seated, order you drinks and choose from so many southern dishes. The presentation was that of a cafeteria mixed with mix n match buffet equipment, I think this played part on how I choose my food. They home style choices were numerous so definitely something for everyone. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What I did love about this restaurant, it was definitely serving the local community and based on the number of larger, multi generational families seen together it was truly heart warming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I think this environment is much better than a stuffy environment and great to see a community supportive of the locals. Cozy little place packed from opening to closing everyday. Great food you order off. Buffet neal & they deliver to you. Was a change they made from traditional buffet during covid. They come by often to ask if you need another dish. Only thing I did not care for was nanner pudd'n was dish of soggy Vanilla wafers about a tablespoon pudding & could only find 2 slices of banana. Will not order that again. They do cornbread the right way NO sugar. That's how I grew up eating cornbread & I love it. My Dad is from Virginia he said if it has sugar it's corn cake not corn bread. It's an all you can eat buffet for lunch and dinner. Epic fresh vegetables, best I've had in a long time as homogenized food service industry has taken away the fresh prepared goodness of most meat and three type establishments. The fried chicken was excellent. read more

This is the best buffet I have ever eaten, All of the food is home made and delicious. You will not find a better home-made style restaurant or buffet restaurant in this area. To be honest, I found Home Folks to be a little disappointing. I am from the north so I was excited to try what I thought would be authentic, comfort food. Instead, I felt like the food was just a average and didn't taste homemade or special. Sadly, the creamed corn had little to no flavor, the Mac and cheese tasted like it had nacho cheese in it, and simply the dumplings weren't anything special. I did really enjoy the service and overall I was thankful for that I tried it. I think it is more of an all you can eat style place, instead of an authentic southern experience. read more

Great little gem. A lot of locals so I knew we were in the right spot. All you can eat but not a buffet, they bring it out as you order. My group had everything from chopped steak, ribs, chicken 'n dumplings, chicken livers to country fried steak and gravy. Great variety of veggies and the absolute best Mexican cornbread I've ever eaten. Homemade potato salad was a star and if you leave without trying the pecan cobbler shake on you. This place is hard to get into in a wheelchair. The thresholds are too high, plus the fact the person in the eheel chair has to try to hold the door open while you lunge with a wheelchair to get it in the door. Plus going to the restroom in a wheelchair is about the same experience. My spouses oxygen was running out so I asked if we could get his dessert to go (plus the fact we had not finished eating) and was told No we do not allow that !. Very rude. If they had of said yes but we charge if it is more than one serving , I would have been ok with it. Will not go back ! The food was ok but not the best country cooking. read more

It's all you can eat, you order off the menu and they bring it to you, I know that sounds like a regular restaurant but it's not. Just go try it and you'll see what I'm writing about. If they are "known for their chicken" we wouldnt know since they forgot to cook ours and never got it The food wasn't the worst but it's not old fashioned cooking. Almost all of our food was bland ; and I'm not a big seasoning person. And it's a weird kind of buffet where you order everything you think you'd want to try at once from a menu and they bring it ALL to your table. It's not a usual buffet, which I feel is a big waste of food. They had a SMALL soup salad buffet. I have more of a salad spread at home than they had. I love the atmosphere, the servers are very friendly, and the owner is very kind, but the truth is the food is not that good, especially since they've switched away from the buffet format (I know that sounds crazy, but it's true). The fried chicken is seasoned well but the breast are very small, I thought I had gotten a wing by mistake based on size, order another because there wasn't much to the first one and got the same tiny breast. chicken livers are on the menu but they have not had them the last 4 times I've been there.
