I was involved in an auto crash in early May. I got my vehicle back yesterday. The main reason for the repairs was supply chain issues. The quality of the work performed was incredibly professional! They performed a top notch job. I was born and raised in suburban Detroit. I know cars. The professionals at Gautier's Auto Body are just that... professional! And it doesn't stop with the auto technicians. The office staff is just as proficient as the repair technicians. From handling the insurance "nightmare" to arranging a rental vehicle (to include returning the vehicle when the repair is completed) to insuring the bill is correct. I sent my Ford truck to Gautier's Auto Body after an accident. The staff there provided excellent customer service and results in dealing with closing out, what turned out to be, a complex insurance claim for that truck. The Gautier staff were always polite, very helpful and accommodating. One of the owners took time to speak with me personally several times and explained what was going on and why. Also, several calls were made to me personally to keep me totally informed concerning the status of their efforts. I have used Gautier's several times in the past and received excellent mechanical services each time. My customer experience with my truck situation has sealed the deal on continuing to do so. No one wants to go to an auto body repair shop. Yet the wait at a typical shop is much longer than you might think which is reflective of just how many accidents occur on a daily basis. In my case, I am particularly unlucky having had 5 accidents (all of them no-fault of my own) involving my personal vehicles in the last 6 years. And they have run the gamut in damage from a simple 2 day repair to a total loss. For a whopping 3 of those accidents, I had my car serviced at Gautier's. Each and every time I went to Gautier's I encountered excellent customer service. Every detail was explained to me, and I was treated with respect. They understand here that their customers are not happy about having their cars repaired, so they are very sympathetic to them. They even go the extra mile and clean your car inside and out, wax it, even give you complimentary touch-up paint, or most recently leave complimentary candy in your car. They really care about their customers and they strive to restore your car to its original condition. The craftsmanship is very impressive at this shop which is likely what has earned them their I-CAR Gold Class Status. They are also a GEICO Express Repair shop which can really expedite the time it takes to repair your car if you have insurance with GEICO. And finally, they are family-owned which I think really comes through when they treat their customers like real people and not account ledger entries. I have had the misfortune of having my former car repaired at a different auto body shop for one of my other accidents, and it was a horrifying experience. I wish I could give this business no stars. I understand that a business only survives by making money but gouging customers charging above and beyond what is fair is dishonest and poor practice. The staff is so rude!!! From the lady in charge to the son of the owner...won't answer calls and when you can get them on the phone they don't listen and try to pacify you with empty promises. I understand that it is an "estimate" of time for the repair but 2 weeks beyond is unacceptable. Especially when the car sat for one week before it was even touched. Then the repair was crappy. Panels didn't line up, the paint color was WAY off and there was drip lines in the paint. When taking it back TWICE they tried to say that some of it wasn't their repair work. Seriously?? Take responsibility. What ever happened to quality work and good customer service? You won't get it here. read more

I recently had a minor accident in the rear of my car. I took my car to this auto body shop, but I'm truly disappointed in the non-professionalism of one of the workers who claim to fame is that she's been doing this for 25 years. After receiving my car, I noticed my hood latch (which was not working properly prior was pulled) was not put back in the proper position; therefore I knew someone (other than myself b/c I just had got the car back) had messed with it. I then notice my running lights are not working on my car which were working when I dropped my car off for repair. I called and of course nobody wants to admit to being wrong, but finally the so called 25 years of service employee claimed to have been doing me a favor by attempting to fix my high beam light (which they failed at also). First of all, my damage was to the rear of my car, so why are you messing with the front or even going under the hood for anything???? So to sum it up, the favor that she was trying to do messed up my running lights and then she has the audacity to tell me that I will have to pay for any fuse or bulb needed to fix it. Prior to doing any other work than specified to me warrants a call asking can you repair something else that you noticed. I was not given the diligence of that, and I'm highly disappointed. I will NEVER recommend or use this autobody shop again. read more

this company is definitely on the ball....i went in and got a thorough estimate. then we sat down and all of my options where laid out and explained, plainly, to me. later i got a prompt follow up call to confirm the date and a rental car. the staff was so pleasant and professional.....i'd gamble and say that i'd use their services again. read more
