The only issue we had is that we had to wait 3 months for the dining room chairs to arrive but that did not inconvenience us much. David, our salesperson at the Westminster store was very honest and helpful. Ryan kept tabs on the delivery and so did Christina. Finally, Jose and Ray delivered all the dining room and living room furniture. This father-son team called ahead and arrived exactly sg 1 pm, as scheduled. They were gone 30 minutes later! Oh my - nothing sent me and my money to IKEA faster than the young, portly salesmen with the beads of angry sweat that accumulated upon his brow when I did not give in to his invasive and rude tactics. I also did not reveal how much money I actually had to spend, and like a rabid hound, he bullied me to buy a crappy couch until my child and I left shaking and confused. Then, less than 48 hours later, my email was bombarded (and has been, ever since) with spam that was initiated by the salesman using my email to contact other neighboring businesses along 140, and who sent me relentless emails in addition to Google alerts saying that someone was using my email to sign up for Spam. That was GAVIGAN'S. This kid knows who he is. I advise he get some ozempic and get over the fact that he is fat, angry loser couch salesman that people don't WANT to buy from just because he is SUCH an angry, spiteful creature. Yuck. I highly recommend Gavigan's! I had fabulous customer service, and will hopefully be back again with my kids. I'm really not sure why they only have one and a half stars... for me, they have five stars!! Danielle and Mike that I met this weekend are both fabulous. I called Gavigan's on Friday, I currently live in southern Utah. My mother has been in the hospital , Here in Maryland, for the past three weeks and very recently requested a recliner BEFORE she gets released on Monday... That's only three days and I didn't get in until Saturday, late! I called and spoke with Danielle on Friday. She sent me photos dimensions and kept in contact with me until I arrived. I did make it in there Saturday to see them in person. We Sent the photos to my mom in the hospital and I had her recliner in the house by 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! I would honestly give them zero stars if I could. My experience started off great, but that's how they hook you in. Wonderful sales and friendly people. What they don't tell you, is that their people are dishonest and sell you warranties for companies they know are going out of business. And this is just the start. I went into the store last year to buy a couch and some other furniture. I found a couch I really liked, and went through the process - paid over $3k for the couch, and another few thousand for some other furniture. About a week after the couch was delivered, I noticed that the couch was damaged. I called the service company and after 3 months, they finally came out to fix it. The guy took one look at the couch, and says, "It's a motor issue. We'll get back to you when the part is in and come back and fix it." Fine. A month later, I call and ask about the part, and they tell me to await a call from Gavigan's. A week later, I called back and they told me there's nothing they can do about it because the company is out of business, and that I'm free to get a replacement couch - for which I would be offered a new warranty (at a cost of $199), and have to pay the delivery fee again (another $199). I asked why I would have to pay for those things again, and they told me that because it's technically a new item, that it's a new purchase requiring a new delivery fee and a new warranty. I then asked why they would be offering a warranty on a company they know is out of business, and they said, "Because it covers motors and other items." I replied that the whole issue with my current couch is the motor, so why would a replacement couch (the same one) be covered when they couldn't fix my couch with the same one. At that point, the Manager, Johnnie, said that he couldn't do anything in the store, and that I would have to call the GM, Valerie. The Westminster, Maryland, Gavigan's Furniture store has horrible customer service and an incompetent ordering process. I will never shop this store again. On July 4, 2014, my husband and I placed a $500 deposit on a custom order Flexsteel reclining sofa, loveseat, and chair for the purchase price of $2,554.20 (before taxes and delivery) from the Westminster, MD, Gavigan's Furniture store. We were promised an eight-week delivery date. Nine weeks later, on September 5, I left a message with Gavigan's customer service number to inquire to the status of our order. After receiving no response, I left three more messages on September 6, 8, and 9h. Again, no one returned my calls. I then contacted Gavigan's delivery department, where I finally reached a "live" person willing to help me. After some researching, his response was that the furniture was scheduled to go into production on September 16 and should arrive approximately two to three weeks later. My husband contacted Gavigan's Westminster location on September 24 to check the status of our order, and we were told the factory was running behind and it would be another two to three weeks. At this point, it had been 11 1/2 weeks since our order was placed. After 14 weeks of waiting for our furniture, we visited Gavigan's Westminster location on October 10. The sales clerk was helpful, but unable to provide any answers because the offices were closed for the evening. However, she did indicate that Gavigan's no longer had a contract with Flexsteel and could make no promises when the furniture would be produced or delivered. She attempted to contact the factory the following day, but was unsuccessful in getting in touch with anyone. On October 13, 14 1/2 weeks after placing our order, my husband and I visited Gavigan's Westminster location for the final time. Two other sales clerks made several phone calls on our behalf, attempting to get answers for us, but they were also unsuccessful in getting in touch with anyone. They understood our frustration, refunded our $500 deposit, and canceled our order. This was at 11:09 a.m. We arrived home to a message left on our home answering machine at 12:30 p.m. that said, "Hello, this is Michelle with Gavigan's home furnishings calling to give you status on your order. I have spoken with the people up in Lancaster, PA. They are letting me know that it's getting on the truck today, so we should receive in the next couple of days as it's being shipped down here to us. If you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call. The phone number to reach me at is 410-609-2114 ext. 100. Again, 410-609-2114 ext. 100. Thank you." I returned Michelle's call the following day, October 14, to inquire about the furniture. She claimed the furniture had been sitting in Lancaster for two weeks, but because we had canceled our order the previous day, she had already rejected the order and it was being sent back to the manufacturer. I questioned the validity of her story and asked how the furniture could be sitting in Lancaster unbeknownst to anyone at Gavigan's despite all of the inquiries made by my husband and me. She agreed it was a lapse of communication and apologized for the mix-up. Frankly, I believe the story was fabricated to cover up incompetencies on the part of Gavigan's. There are serious communication and customer service issues in this store and with the ordering process. I am amazed that Gavigan's would let a $2,500 sale walk out of the door with no resolution or offer to rectify the situation. I have sent two letters to Gavigan's (mailed one to the corporate office and submitted one on-line through their website), with no response or acknowledgement. I want to make people aware of my experience before they consider making a purchase at Gavigans. I purchased a sofa and love-seat. The love-seat arm was broken...I noticed about a week after delivery. I immediately contacted the store and was directed to their service company-Servco. Servco informed me a technician would come to my home to evaluate the piece. He did-and agreed the wooden arm was broken. I would expect a broken, defective piece to be replaced-I was wrong. They tell me they will first attempt to repair. I told them absolutely not! I paid for quality furniture-not defective, broken furniture that required repair when brand new! I have been going back and forth with Servco...no resolution as of yet because they tell me they are waiting to hear back from the manufacturer to proceed. I am now a month and 1/2 in with a broken love-seat. I request to speak to a manager/supervisor and no one calls me back. I email corporate and no one responds with any helpful information. The right thing to do is to replace my love-seat. This is what reputable companies do to ensure good customer service. Be warned-if you spend your hard earned money on furniture with Gavigans and there is something wrong with it they will not replace it. You may not even get a call back...you may not even get your item repaired. I am out a lot of money on furniture I saved to purchase and now no one can even sit in it!!!! I am disgusted with how they handle and treat customers. While my sales person was very kind-the company overall fails to make the grade because of how they handle issues their customers have. DO NOT SHOP AT GAVIGAN'S FURNITURE! I'm sure many of you are aware of the horrible service I received at Gavigan's Furniture last weekend in the Westminster Maryland location where they stopped my transaction and sold our furniture to another customer and afterwards refused to make the situation right. Well after days of complaining and posting on social media, the Owner, Robert Gavigan, finally called me back. I now completely understand why his managers act the way they do and I am now completely shocked how this company is still in business. Here are just a few things Robert Gavin said to me during our phone conversation. Keep in mind that I purchased a $3k couch in this store 2 years ago, so he is talking to one of his customers. i was absolutely shocked how poorly and unprofessional he behaved during our 15 minute conversation. Once I told him I was recording our conversation he went ballistic on the phone. - He called me a liar and that he wouldn't sell me a chair if he wanted to. - He called me a $20 hack - He told me that I couldn't afford to purchase furniture if I needed to finance anything under a thousand dollars. - He told me that he had 8 furniture stores and that he could care less if he had my business or not, and asked me what have you built in your lifetime. He was basically saying he was so rich he didn't need customers. - He kept repeating to me "Are you threatening me". I said no, I'm just going to keep on spreading the word about the horrific customer service at his location and that ultimately would cost him way more business than this $500 chair. He than asked me if I wanted to meet him at the store and if I thought I was a tough guy. I guess he wanted to fight me or something. - He told that the 15 minutes I spent with him on the phone was the biggest waste of his life that he can't get back. - I told him I wasn't the only customer who felt this way, and to go back a read his reviews on Facebook / Yelp. It's obvious that he doesn't read them, because he doesn't care about customers. At the end of the day, anyone who acts likes this towards their customers shouldn't be in business. I have just a simple ask. Do not spend money in any of his stores. There are plenty of furniture stores that appreciate customers. If you are an employee of Gavigan's Furniture, get out now before Robert Gavigan shows you the meaning of Work Place Violence. If I could give a negative rating I would! We purchased furniture in March 2021 and signed a COVID waiver that our furniture could take up to 24 weeks. We call for an update as we are relocating to Florida and are advised that he is set to be shipped to the Westminster Gavigan's on NOVEMEBER 17th but from that point to when it would be delivered to us is 6-8 additional weeks. That is completely INSANE! We are trying to cancel our order and be refunded but cannot get anywhere with corporate or the local facility and it is supposed to be shipped in the middle of our move out of state. What options would we have? None... wait for them to get it and then change to a delivery in Florida but we would have to pay an additional delivery fee. No one has our order number because the furniture hasn't even began to be manufacturer. After visiting several over stores, we stumbled across Gavigan's Furniture in Westminster, Maryland. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by Dee, one of Gavigan's top sales associates. We explained to her that we were looking to furnish our new apartment and in need of a couch, dining room table, and bedroom set. We told her our budget and she began showing us around. Unlike many sales associates, Dee never pressured us to buy or rush us in our selection process. She allowed us to take our time to browse but was always available when we had any questions. When we had narrowed down our choices, Dee and the store manager, John, took care of the rest. The check out and delivery process was quick and easy! We were so satisfied with the excellent customer service that we went back a week later to purchase an entertainment stand and second couch. Thank you Dee and John for such great care! Ordered sofa and loveseat January 1, 2021 sales lady was very nice we were hesitant about the 16-22 week wait for order and were assured that 22 weeks was longest wait that most received furniture before that so we payed 5000 for the set. Well middle of April we called inquiring when we could expect delivery and were told due to foam shortage it was taking longer. Middle of May called again and was told possible delivery around July 25th at this point a little upset and tried to cancel order and was told due to covid and paper work you sign upon purchase you cannot cancel and besides order was already place and furniture was being manufactured so your stuck and that this is normal for furniture at this time. If you ask me it's only this place we also ordered tables and a dining room set from another furniture store and they were delivered in the time frame we were told. So we called today 7/1 and found out that our furniture that we ordered Jan 1 was not even scheduled to start being manufactured until possibly July 25 and we may have it sometime in September again tried to demand my money back and to cancel order but received an oh well attitude your stuck waiting on this furniture forever! So beware of this place if you actually want your furniture go somewhere else because they will smile at you while taking your money and misleading you. read more

While the furniture was very nice and well priced, the service was absolutely terrible. I ordered just a headboard and a dresser from the catalog. It took them 6 weeks to inform me that the item I had purchased was discontinued. So, instead of getting my money back I chose something else. About 8 weeks went by, still no furniture. No updates and what was going on with my furniture. Nothing. So I called. They said that they would make a call and get back to me. Didn't hear anything from them for almost a week. So, I went in to the store to find out about the status of my furniture. They had to send an email out to the purchasing dept. And then call me back. They did call me back telling me that they were waiting on a headboard which would take an additional 2 weeks to Come in so they would send out the dresser and the bed frame in the meantime without charging an extra delivery fee. They schedule a delivery from 2-6. Delivery didn't show until 6:30 after I called to find out Where they were at 5:45. So after my dresser comes in, I will have waited a total of 16 weeks for furniture. All for just a twin sized headboard and a standing dresser. Luckily for Gavigan's, I'm a patient person. read more

When the chairs were delivered they looked horrible. Their was no way I could put them in my living room. Immediately called my sales person to have them replaced or my money refunded. She said I would have to pay the 30% restock fee and 149.99 delivery fee if they took them back but they would not. She said the fabric had been discontinued. I have been trying to contact the manger for a week and she will not return my phone calls. I ordered 2 recliners the day after Thanksgiving and i asked when they thought they would arrive for pickup and the sales clerk said she wasn't sure. I called 2 weeks after to find out when the recliners would be ready for pick up and was told 10 to 12 WEEKS. Since when does it take 3 to 4 months to get furniture. I am not sure if I am going to wait because now I have gave them my money that I had for the chairs or if I am going to cancel the order. opps I meant Gardner/Wolfe furniture. I purchased a bedroom suite from them and they could not have been more helpful until I had a problem with my CUSTOM made set. The night stand was not the correct stain, they did replace that, however the chifferobe back panel has a split in it. I called and had a tech come out and he assured me it would be replaced.. that was in February and I have made 9 calls and a visit to the store. This place is a joke. They keep saying they will get back to me and they don't. The last call I made was Saturday 6/24 and was told the owner of the company who made the furniture would call me today.. guess what.?? No call AGAIN. I spent a lot of money on my CUSTOM furniture and expected it to be perfect. My next step is to report them to the BBB and get my Lawyer on this.
