This place is an absolute joke of a business. I ordered food at 11:24am. 8 cut cheese pizza, half hoagie, gyro & a slice of pie. $50! I Called at 12:33pm to see if food had left yet. They tried to tell me I never placed an order with them. Yet they took money out of my checking account. He said he would call me back. He ended up texting me saying they just received my order at 12:41 due to a printer issue. I replied with I hope we would be compensated for this. Considering how long we've been waiting. They replied with "we'll give you credit for your next order " food showed up at 1:13pm. Cold and soggy with a small piece of brownie with the writing on it saying compensation. It took forever to get the pizza. It was ordinary. Not awful but nothing to write home about. No atmosphere to speak of.

I pass Gavino's everyday and I always wanted to try it. Boy am I glad that I did! I got the Hawaiian pizza and it was one of the best I've had. Fresh, hot, perfect crust & great cheese! Delicious!! Super Friendly as well. I'm looking forward to trying some other menu items. read more

We ordered a pizza on the Slice app from Gavino's before a show at the Roxian the other night. We lucked out with a free parking spot right in front, too! The pizza was ready when it was supposed to be and it was really good! Only downfall was we got 1/2 sausage 1/2 mushroom and there was barely any sausage on it. First ordered the pizza from this place and the pep was mediocre, but for ~$3 and for a miniature slice... awful. Then went back to get a ~$22 calzone and half of the calzone was still raw dough. They have the audacity to charge over 20$. I could've crafted and cooked this with a blindfold and made a better meal than this. I tell you what... I've had a lot of pie in my day and I was getting tired of the pizza places around the Rocks... Decided to try Gavino's pizza, and I have to say it was pretty d*** good.. We gona an XL supreme pie.. We will be going back to try some of their other pies and probably some of their hoagies as well.. The person that took my order was a very personable person and when I went in to grab my pie they were right on it.. I was thinking because it was dinner time I would have a longer wait... but I didn't it was about a 25 min wait that's about what it is everywhere... We'll be back see you so I had to drop my stars from 5 to 3 for two reasons:first I agree now that the pizza almost has no real flavor, Since we didn't get the supreme pie (that was full of flavor because of everything that's on it) I can now taste the difference. Second we ordered a special with a plain pie, bread sticks, hoagie, and 2 litter... so we wanted pepperoni on the pie and they charged us almost 4 dollars for seriously 10-15pieces of pepperoni. Their supreme Italian hoagie is the best in the city. A bit pricey at $10.99 plus tax for a half a footlong. But you get what you pay for. I don't suggest their slices. Ordered tonight with an incompetent cashier who charged my card without knowing that she was out of pita bread and offered to refund me nine dollars in cash without the tax. She then cancelled the order and told me I had to wait 4 days for my money back. Like I have 100 dollars laying the fuck around to keep buying food for my family. The Pizza was not good! Very little sauce on the pizza and couldn't taste it. I wouldn't go back!! I gave a 1 star because the wings were ok. The people who work there didn't care and wanted to tell me that if you ask for extra sauce and they say do you want it on the side and you say no put it on the pizza just make sure it is enough it means they put very little sauce on the pizza. Several words and items had to be repeated multiple times for verification. Please have a native English speaker man your phone. -Delivery time was about 20 minutes longer than told. When called to check on my order, the employee was harsh and abrupt. Have someone friendly man your phones. -Food was very mediocre. Really lacking. My items were more dough than substance / flavor. First off let me state that my wife loves the Mediterranean subs here. I went for the Gyros platter. You know you are in trouble when a place cannot properly pronounce the food they are selling! It's Gyros " Year ros" or Yeros . I know Pittsburgh thinks it's the way it's said but it only makes people from outside of Pittsburgh think you are a ignorant jagoff. (See? I included Pittsburghese) Let's just say it's a good thing I was hungry . It was mildly average. I will break it down. The pita was actually the best part nice and soft. The lettuce was good. And the purple onions were crisp and tasty. But the sauce was a poor imitation of the standard sauce. As very little was in it making it more like sour cream . It would had been better also if there was more of it offered. Now the meat of the review. Since this is more of a pizza place it was your average put together out of a kit Gyros meat with a little flavor and just a bit over cooked. On the way back from checking out a house for sale, the smells wafting in from the pizzerias were overwhelming. We made a U-turn and parked on the street across from this spot. The Mediterranean pasta was good, just like the service. Not life changing, but still good. My friend really fancied the mild wings. We enjoyed some Doctor Oz ironically playing on their flat screen. My dish was big (it turned into 2-3 meals for me) and I was served a nice piece of garlic bread, sliced. They have a good selection of drinks, among the normal ever so mundane pop, Arizona tea, and gatorade. The reason for 3 stars is because the meal was just okay, but what you would expect from a pizzeria.
