We were a bit disappointed. We called to place a pickup order Saturday around 3pm to get our final fix before the upcoming closure of this longtime Pittsburgh staple and we were told that they were closed; although website stated that they were open until 8pm. We are super sad. Goodbye Vento's

    Pepperoni rolls

Stopped in for lunch! We ordered pepperoni pizza, pepperoni rolls, a small pep and sausage, & a side salad. Everything was so good! I know this place is under new ownership (I haven't been here since undergrad) and it was great!

I was in the area shopping and always have a craving for pizza. I saw Bento's and decided to give them a shot I had 2 slices of pizza with pepperoni. the service was a little slow. The place had a good amount of seating and there was plenty of parking. The pizza itself was ok I would not say it was anything more then ok. I Have had better. I found the slices to be very small and 2 slices was not enough of a meal compared to a regular pizzeria. All in all the pizza had a good taste to it and if I was in the area again I might stop by again.

I had a real blast from the past experience as I hadn't had Vento's in quite some time. I was in the area and had a killer craving for an Italian Army which needed to be satisfied. As soon as I parked I took in all of the familiar smells as I made my way to the door. Once inside it was just like I always remembered the decor was the exact same. I went in just wanting an Italian Army, but notice some older guys sharing a pizza so I needed so of their sicilian pizza too! I placed my order I found a seat and patiently waited for my food. Once it arrived about 10 minutes later I was instantly transported back in time to 12th grade at Peabody High School as the original Vento's was almost a daily after school stop! I started with the sicilian pizza. I ordered it with pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms. The crush was light and airy just like I remembered it. For those that havent been an Italian Army features chopped beef, fried onions, marinara sauce, provolone cheese, lettuce & tomato. It was legendary and just as good as ever! With all of the long time businesses closing in East Liberty lately really makes me even more happy that a gem like Vento's has stood the test of time and remains just as delicious as ever!

Food and customer service were excellent! I had unbreaded hot wings and pepperoni pizza. Highly recommend a visit.

Best pie in East Liberty. It's the same guys cooking everytime I stop in, so you know you're getting good consistent Sicilian square pizza.

It comes with vodka sauce, Lupe's meatballs, house cheese blend, fresh mozzarella, ricotta, and fresh basil leaves. Nicely charred crust. All cheese is blended together and piped in rosettes on top of the pizza. Tastes so good and looks amazing. Walk in the front door and give your name for pickup. To the right are a couple upright cold cases filled with drinks, salad, etc. Located a short 15 minute drive from Shadyside. Can't wait to return and try more pizza.

I cannot say it is the best pizza I have had because different styles are all amazing. This is a unique style and I love it. The sauce was amazing, the ricotta cheese was so delicious and their meatballs were tremendous. What I loved was the crust - it had some chew and some tug; there was a little bit of char on the outside and the bottom. The meatballs were delicious and that sauce! The vodka sauce was perfect. I would have thought I would have missed the standard cheese on a pizza but the ricotta was super good. I placed my order on their website and it was easy; I was able to pay using my Apple Pay, which was a plus. We arrived and it was ready but we stood talking to the men in the shop and they were so kind. They asked us questions about us when they learned we had, recently, moved here. You will not find a more personable greeting anywhere.

It's on a dilapidated brick road that you essentially have to drive up at a crawl speed to prevent your car from rattling a part, and there's rarely parking. HOWEVER, somehow, this adds to the charm. The journey makes the reward that much better, I suppose. When you enter the pizzeria, it feels like how a pizzeria should. It's small and noisy, and the smells are overpowering. The staff is too busy for small talk. They're making dough (see what I did there?). I love it. The sauce is sweet, which isn't how I typically want a pizza sauce to taste, but it's also what makes their pizza so unique. You won't find another pizza that tastes like this. A plain cheese pizza from here is worth its weight in gold. I cannot recommend them enough.

We were told there would be a wait, but our pizza was ready right when they said it would be. The staff was also extremely friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Parking was a little tricky because of the location, but it was definitely worth it! The standout feature of this pizza for me was the flavor of the cheese (especially when paired with onions) that combination was easily my favorite part. They use a very generous, thick layer of cheese, which creates a rich and indulgent pizza. The cheese is quite oily and can slide off the crust, so personally the amount of cheese and oil was a little heavier than my usual preference. However, the chewy crust holds up well to the toppings, and there was still something really addictive about the overall flavor and texture of that cheese. One thing that surprised me was how good it was the next day when eaten cold. I actually prefer this pizza cold. The cheese and onions complemented each other even more, and the pizza felt a little less oily while allowing the flavors to shine even more. Overall, this is definitely a top-tier pizza place in the area. If you enjoy a flavorful, cheesy pizza with a great chewy crust, I would absolutely recommend giving it a try!

I tried a black cherry ale that was delicious. My husband got a Vienna lager he enjoyed. He got the black and gold pizza with potatoes, garlic sauce, pepper, res onion parmesan, and provolone. It was definitely not traditional. The sauce was very thick and almost floury. They serve it with pork belly, which does not give the same punch of flavor to cut through the sauce as guanchali or bacon. The papardelle noodle were dry and clumpy. The dish was very heavy. Do not recommend. The place is chill. It is close to the theater. I might try it again if in the area.
