I was in the market for a new dentist. The one I have gone to for years has proven over and over that he is in the business of upselling and recommending unnecessary procedures. I recently joined the app Next Door. While browsing I ran across a post about locating a good dentist. Several neigbors mentioned that Dr. Gavric was amazing. I value reviews and made the decision to check out this dentist. I submitted a request for an appointment online after hours. to my surprise, I received a call early the next business day. The staff member obtained my insurance information and scheduled me for an appointment with no problem. A few days later I received a text with the paperwork I needed to complete. On the day of my visit, I received another text message to advise that I should call the office upon my arrival and the staff would let me know when I could come up for my appointment. The office is located in a great location. Its in very close proximety to the Braves Stadium and located on the 2nd floor of the building. You do have to grab a ticket when you enter the gate to park, however the parking is free for up to 2 hours! After arriving and making the call to advise I was present, I received a return call in less than 5 minutes indicating I could enter the office. I was greeted by friendly faces when I walked in(after having my temperature checked at the door). I had a very small wait to see the dental hygenist. I am going to take the blame for the wait- I forgot to complete the Covid pre-screen and had to complete it in the waiting area. Amanda was my dental hygenist. She was very engaging, friendly, and informative. She explained everything to me in layman's terms. After getting x-rays, and having my teeth cleaned I was seen by Dr. Garvic. She had a great bedside manner. I felt like I was talking with a friend. It was very refreshing. I had a small concern with a filling that was done by my prior dentist. She was eager to check it out for me and did a quick adjustment. She even let me know that if I continue to have the symptoms I was experiencing I can call back and she will do another adjustment if needed. At my old dentist's office, I was always given fluoride that I had to pay $30 for at each visit. I asked Amanda about it and she advised that fluoride is not typically given to adults unless they are prone to cavities! She let me know that if I wanted it they could give it to me for a fee. I love the fact that she was honest! It looks like I am going to be $60 richer over the next few years! My first visit was a success and I do see this being my dentist for years to come. I appreciate that every staff I encountered was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Additionally, I love the fact that there was no upselling and that my service was rendered promptly. I have been a patient of Dr. Alvarez for 20+ years. He is absolutely the best! He is warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. When my daughter turned 18, she became a patient of his as well. She needed several small fillings, and he explained each step of the process to her. She is a fan now as well. His office staff is amazing! They solve scheduling and insurance issues with no stress. First, my crown that I received here is faulty and I will choose to go somewhere else to get it fixed. It always hurts and has a gap in it. Second, I was charged a no show fee even after I explained that my daughters whole class, my sister in law and my husband tested positive for Covid. To be sure to note: I have great dental insurance and I have never been late for a bill or payment. I actually recall being late for my first appointment weeks postpartum and my appointment was cancelled because of it so I guess the signs have been there all along. I had a wonderful experience here! My hygienist, Amanda, was very helpful at explaining everything to me. From the x-rays that had to be taken to the gum evaluation she explained why and how she was doing everything, which I had never had anyone do with me before. I had a chip on my front tooth that I wanted to get checked out and when Dr. Kerr came to see me he said I didn't have to do anything about it but also gave me options as to how we could proceed if I wanted to fix it for cosmetic reasons. I had to go in today for my first ever tooth extraction. My wisdom teeth never came in, but I had a badly damaged tooth that ended up developing into a pretty gnarly infected abscess due to pandemicrastination. It wasn't exactly what I would call a pleasant experience, but they certainly did everything they could to put me at ease and make me comfortable, and I'm glad to have gotten it over with. They have you fill out forms which is normal but it's so they can use high pressure sales that is awful. They pressure you to show up a few days later. And if you dont show or cancel prior to 24 hours they hit you w $25. All about money. Then they nickle and dime and try not to give you a toothbrush. On top of that when i moved to California and changed phone numbers and couldn't cancel they still made me pay the fee for not being able to cancel. Laura told me i should have wrote the appt down. I have never liked going to the dentist and have really bad experiences the past 24 years with dentists in the lawrenceville area. I relocated to atlanta and needed a new dentist and they were close and in network so I figured why not try? I was so so nervous because like I said, I don't like the dentist BUT my experience at this practice was phenomenal!! Everyone in the office from the front desk to the dental assistant to Dr. Alvarez.. they were all amazing!!! They take their time and will do what's best to help you. It really pains my heart to give them two stars because when I was a patient - I loved, loved, loved them. I found that they actually seemed to care about my dental health and unlike a lot of the filtered reviews - they never tried to upsell me or suggest unnecessary treatments. In fact - they talked me out of a teeth whitening. The office manager / receptionist was sweet & charming (and funny). Both dentists were funny and pleasant. Unfortunately - all my warm & fuzzy feelings came to a screeching halt earlier this year. I didn't change insurance - but my plan benefits changed. I went in for a routine cleaning and unbeknownst to me - they were out of network so I wound up paying and arm & a leg for a routine cleaning and X-rays. I get that the office is very busy and if I'd dropped in unexpectedly - I would be a little more understanding - but since I scheduled this appointment weeks / months in advance - I would think that it would be SOP (standard operating practice) to call my insurance company to confirm that my services are covered. In fact - I know most doctors and dental offices will ask you during the check in process if your insurance has changed. Apparently not at Kerr & Gavric. As my nephew would say, in double fact, when I called to schedule an appointment with the dentist I used before them, I made the appointment and the next day they called me back to let me know that they would be happy to do my cleaning - but that they were no longer in network so I would have to pay $165 for x-rays and cleaning. I don't like wasting money. They do a good job - but at the end of the day - who's going to pay for cleaning or any other wellness visit when they don't have to?! I felt that the least they could have done is offer some sort of discount - and I don't mean the self-pay discount. So I've taken my business elsewhere. read more

I went in for a routine cleaning and check-up. They did the required X-rays (all covered by insurance), then the doctor came in (super nice and friendly lady), saw the X-rays, inspected my teeth carefully and since she found no issues, she congratulated me and sent me home without anything else to it. Ttransparent and to the point - no weird terms or excuses on shady preventive care treatments, or fillings just in case - absolutely nothing. If you have nothing wrong with your teeth, they will not make up anything wrong with them. read more

They were very prompt and I did not have to wait at all to get in and started, unlike other dental practices I've been to where you need to schedule an appointment 2hrs before you expect to get in. I've been going to see Dr. Kerr for a little over a year, and the experience has been fantastic. He is very professional, as are the hygienists, and always answers any questions I have. Laura, the receptionist, is one of the nicest and most upbeat people I've ever met. She's more than willing to answer any insurance questions, and has even called the insurance company on my behalf to clarify coverage options. I've never experienced any "upselling" that one other reviewer talked about - I just receive basic maintenance. Routine cleanings are always super quick, which is nice. I'm always in and out in about 30 minutes. read more

They will bring you at clinic by giving you false information and they will charge their fee without giving any treatment and will say, We don't provide this treatment. we provides only basis treatment. I'm glad my Dentist joined the Gavric, Kerr office. A definite upgrade in as far as office decor, staff and location (loverlooking Suntrust Park!). I saw a new hygienist Joni (new to me) who was fantastic in explaining the overall cleaning process as well as in educating me how to better care for my sensitive gums. I had my first visit with this practice a month ago. My hygienist was very nice and professional and my cleaning went well. I was told by the hygienist and the dentist that no cavities were seen on the X-ray. The dentist examined my teeth after my cleaning and told me within a minute I had 5 cavities. This was extremely upsetting and unexpected because I don't have a history of cavities. In lieu of this appointment, I decided to get a second opinion from my childhood dentist of 20 years in Macon. My childhood dentist retook X-rays and examined my teeth only to find one small cavity. You know your history and teeth best. Be wary of this dentist because I believe I was taken advantage of. I'm glad I got the second opinion before I paid $300+ for unneeded holes and fillings in my teeth. read more

I'm surprised to see negative reviews about Kerr & Gavric. I have been going here for the past 8 years, ever since I moved to the area. Thankfully, knock on wood, I have good teeth and typically only go for regular cleanings. However, I did have Dr. Kerr replace all of my metal fillings with white ones several years ago and I haven't had any problems with my teeth since. Everyone I've interacted with there - which I guess is everyone by now - has been great. I highly recommend. read more

I went for my front tooth filling and it was horrible experience. There was a very small dark spot between my front 2 teeth but Dr. Kerr carved out large portion. When it was over, there was huge gap between the teeth. I was very unhappy and showed my displeasure right there. He redid the filling to correct it but but even then I am not satisfied with the final appearance of my teeth. I am really upset about this and will never go there again. read more

I love this place. I relocated to Atlanta and have had a VERY difficult time finding a good dentist and other healthcare providers, but I am extremely happy with this office. I wish I could find a Primary care doctor with the level of customer service and quality they provide here. I did run into a situation after being injected with Novocain for a filling where something went awry and I lost the taste on the right side of my mouth for about 4 months. But Dr Kerr and the front desk staff both followed up with me regularly to see how I was doing and offered several suggestions to speed up recovery. Also my dental hygienist ( sorry forgot her name) is seriously the sweetest ever. One last comment...Dr Kerr's wife bakes the best ginger bread cookies and brings them in for patients...I thought it was a little weird at first, to attempt to eat a cookie when I could barely feel my lips BUT even if you have to wait a couple hours...They're worth it. read more

I was very disappointed with my experience, and I agree with Lucy that they tried to scam me. They tried to sell me this deep root gum cleaning that was going to cost over a 1,000 dollars. I went for a two second opinions, and both dentists said that I didn't need any sort of treatment like that. I left there in tears because they told me my gums were so terrible. I soon found out that my gums were fine, and I will never go back there. Be careful if you choose this dentist. read more

I went in because I was experiencing jaw pain and spasms. I could tell as soon as Dr. Kerr came in that he was going to be less than helpful. In fact the first words out of my mouth were "I am actually not really sure why I'm here now." I told him my symptoms, he performed some sort of exam. I was in a lot of discomfort, which he remarked on several times. He told me that he could not do anything for me at the moment since my jaw was so tight, but to come back in a week and in the meantime to PUT BENGAY ON MY FACE. I felt this was absurd. I left in pain and in tears. I called my mom who runs 3 dental practices in VA, told her what he said and she insisted I go back in and demand they not bill my insurance. So I did. I was still crying. The next day I received an email from Dr. Kerr dismissing me from the practice. I replied "Dr. Kerr you lost me as a patient the moment you told me to put Bengay on my face." I completely agree with the previous reviewer, these are a bunch of scammers. I went for a simple cleaning but they tried to get me to do more that would require me to pay a lot of money out of pocket, and when I said I wasn't ready to do it at that time, they simply refused to clean my teeth. They act real nice from the outside as long as you agree with them and go with the treatments they recommend, but as soon as you say no, you will see a different side of them. I am glad I am not one of their patients . They deserve a zero star, but I guess I have to give them one. read more
