Unacceptable Experience and Concerns Regarding Hygiene and Billing I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent dental cleaning appointment. My experience was highly concerning due to misrepresentation regarding insurance coverage, questionable billing practices, and, most alarmingly, a severe lack of sterile protocol from the dental assistant. From the outset, I was informed that my routine cleaning would be free as the office was in-network with my insurance carrier. However, when I inquired about potential charges, the staff was evasive and unclear, which immediately raised a red flag. The most concerning aspect of my visit was the dental assistant. She appeared to be new and demonstrated a profound lack of awareness and training. She repeatedly failed to hear or respond to the dentist's instructions, requiring him to repeat himself multiple times. Her hygiene practices were particularly alarming: * She frequently put her gloved fingers in my mouth, then immediately touched the computer screen, and then returned her same gloves to my mouth. * She handled the X-ray gun with these same contaminated gloves, touched the screen again, and then put her fingers back in my mouth. * At one point, she put a pen in her mouth and then proceeded to put her fingers back in my mouth. This blatant disregard for sterile technique significantly increased my anxiety during the appointment. Following this, the dentist informed me that I had tartar and inflammation only on the right side of my mouth and recommended a deep cleaning costing $720. Given the previous issues and my knowledge of my own dental health, this assessment felt disingenuous. I immediately expressed my desire for a second opinion, as I was confident there was no such issue, especially confined to only one side. My insurance plan covers two cleanings per year at no cost. After leaving your office, I promptly scheduled an appointment with another in-network dentist, where I received a proper and thorough cleaning without any issues. However, shortly after my visit to your office, I developed a sore throat, which I strongly suspect was a direct result of the dental assistant's unsanitary practices and cross-contamination. I urge you to address these serious issues immediately, particularly the unhygienic practices of your staff. No patient should be subjected to such a risk of infection. I also recommend a review of your billing transparency and the accuracy of your dental assessments. To the smooth dentist aka Bollywood: don't have your staff lie and say you're in network when you're not. That's fraud. Scamming money from your patients will bring you nothing but bad karma ok Bollywood. So don't do it. Be honest you'll be a better person. read more

It's hard to find a new dentist but Dr Ray Cornay is amazing. I went to 3 previous dentists to have a partial made. 2 gave up after 2 tries, one lost my clay mold and told me the day before the appointment. Dr Cornay took a wax and clay mold and checked with the way mold before work completed. I can't even express how satisfied I am with the well-fitting partial. Wish I had gone to his office first. Great office, great experience. I will have more work done there. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Cornay for awhile, and he's amazing. He provides a balanced approach with his recommendations, and costs have always been discussed upfront and prior to any procedures. Most importantly, though, I had to take my child in for an emergency appointment after another dental provider canceled on us. Dr. Cornay was able to see us 30 minutes after we called and was able to perform the dental procedure. He gave us a good overview of the pros and cons of the procedure and what to look for during her recovery. He was extremely patient and gentle with my scared little one, who could watch a cartoon during the procedure. Even better- they charged us $1,000 less than the pediatric dentist had quoted us. It seems I was a bit hasty in my review, I thought I found a dentist who cared, boy was I wrong, they were no different than any other dentist I have gone to. Grant you my teeth aren't great but instead of helping me find a solution they ship me off to another Doctor, and that has been happening ever since my wonderful dentist retired, if you only need the basics then pretty much any dentist will do but if you have problems, you might as well solve it yourself one way or another, because they just don't care. The sadder thing is, when I went in, I asked him to treat me like he would his mother, I feel sorry for his mother. read more

This dental professional failed in the minimum dental service . as I had an extraction and needed a new evaluation they wanted to charge a new fee and have divided the dental service to right or left side of the mouth. This practice wanted to charge me for each side of the dental. I had an extraction on the lower right side on August 2022 and recently had an issue on the left side. I was told that the left side is additional charge just to review the issue. They never tried to evaluate the problem. MONEY is their number one priority. So if you need a good dentist do not visit this practice unless you do not mind been over charge. Buyer be aware!! read more

FINALLY a dentist that can do it all. In an age of specialization it seems like most dentists now can't do much more than teeth cleaning. Not the case here. Dr Patel can do it all. I recently had to go to an endodontist for a root canal(unsuccessfully) and an oral surgeon for an extraction. How I would have loved to do it all in one place. I really liked Dr Patel's approach, great rapport with you, professional and friendly. His staff is great as well. I need to get an implant to replace the extracted tooth and did some comparisons, the prices here are the most reasonable I've found. I found Dr. Patel on my companies approved dentists and I have to say I am pleased with my experience. The Hygienist Lindsey was great she made me feel comfortable and provided a thorough cleaning. We had a bad experience here. To make a long story short, they were basically billing our insurance with the wrong provider and overcharging us, even though we had made it clear to charge under the provider who was in our network whom we saw. They had nasty attitudes, thought they could trick us, and made us wait to get our money back. I guess they do this to see what they can get away with. I went to Marietta Dental Professionals for a few years but recently had to switch to another practice. I commuted from downtown Atlanta (30 min drive one way) but felt like the level of service and professionalism was always worth it. I'm only switching practices because I moved even further south, and with their recent move as well, the commute is now 45+ minutes. I've always looked forward to my dental appointments. Nothing beats the validation from a dentist ("Wow, your teeth and gums look great!"), and the people there just really great people. From Dr. Patel to the hygienists to the office staff-- everyone is so flippin amazing! One year, I went to get a cleaning a few days before my wedding... then sort of forgot to come back for a year or so (oops). When I returned, they remembered that I got married and even remembered where I was going for my honeymoon! Some of my own friends don't even remember that! It's nice to know they don't view you as just a patient, but they actually see you as a person and remember you and are interested in your life! I've gotten a dental implant, a couple root canals, and a few cavities fixed by them (don't judge-- I got weak enamel, okay??) all without any complaints or issues. I also love that they offer different financial plans to help you pay for the treatments so you don't have to drop $$$$ all at once. As for cleanings, now that they have TV screens on their ceilings, it seriously can't get any better. One episode of The Office and I'm outta there. I've got to say, I was skeptical at reading all these reviews, but this place really is solid. I had been going to a dentist at this location for years, but the practice was sold to Dr. Patel, the new dentist, over a year ago. I was disappointed my normal hygienist had left, but my new hygienists have been pleasant and competent. I had to make an appointment to see the dentist recently because I chipped my tooth (stupid hard teeth!), and they were able to fit me in the next day. First, I noticed a new addition to the office -- vibrating massage pads in each of the dental chairs, like the kind you see at Brookstone! For real?! Awesome! Dr. Patel and his assistant were professional but friendly, and I really appreciated the conservative approach Dr. Patel took with my chipped tooth. He was able to just grind the sharp edge down a bit, which was a cheap procedure. He didn't suggest anything expensive or drastic, which I really appreciated. It's not in the best plaza around, but I've been impressed with the practice. At least I can head across the street afterwards and get lunch at the Israeli Bakery! A couple years ago my wife, son and I changed dentists because our old one was in Buckhead and getting there from Marietta / East Cobb had become a hassle. I'm so glad we decided on Dr. Patel and Marietta Dental Professionals! While the exterior building is a bit dated, the office is well maintained and has continued to be improved since my first visit. I've never had to wait in the lobby more than a moment. They appear to do a very good job of keeping the dentist chairs full without overbooking. They are also very good at working with my schedule. You arrive to smiling faces at the front desk and that welcoming attitude continues the entire visit. The staff is warm and friendly. They set you at ease and make sure you are comfortable during your treatment. Each of the ladies who has performed our cleanings has been very professional, friendly and has done a wonderful job. They take dental care very seriously and help educate their clients on the best methods of caring for your teeth. They are also great with kids. Dr. Patel goes above and beyond. He's very personable and genuinely gets to know his patients. Yesterday I had to have two fillings done and it was the most relaxed and easy dental procedure I've ever had (and I've had several). Dr. Patel made sure I was comfortable every moment and performed the work quickly. After yesterday I can say he is extremely skilled at his job. In the last 22 years I have worked for a global airline and have lived up and down the east coast. With that said, I have had many, many dentists in my time and let me clear; Dr. Patel and his entire staff take the FIRST PLACE Trophy! First, as a guy myself, Dr. Patel is a young, cool dude. We got along like we were buddies and that to me says so much about his personality. Don't worry girls, he is a great guy and highly professional to all. I saw it first hand as his office was bustling with customers. Oh, speaking of that, you are a customer and a patient. Don't be surprised if they ask how they did. Every single step on every procedure is thoroughly explained in detail before any work is done. The entire staff is more than happy to answer any and all questions at any given time. I actually, for the first time ever felt like I was part of their family and not an actual patient! I have never experienced that on such a level, anywhere in any industry. They were highly recommended from coworkers and it is now no secret why. Let me be clear; I am normally not a "review guy" but I just have to let people know about this little dentistry gem in Cobb County, Georgia. I plan on moving soon and it will be much farther from Dr. Patel's office and the additional distance will not stop me from him being my new and permanent dentist. I can finally say at the age of 47 I am no longer afraid of the "Scare Chair" and actually look forward to my next visit because they have influenced me to take the better oral care challenge. Extortion. That's the new business plan for most dentists now, including Dr. Patel. When you just want a check up and cleaning, they now test your gum line by sticking a pick under your gums. Why? So they can use those numbers to justify $250 for a 'special' cleaning. You are not allowed to make your own decision about how your gums are treated, or what level of cleaning you want. They refuse to clean your teeth unless you agree to the special price cleaning. That's extortion. This is happening in all of the unscrupulous dental offices now. I won't be back. read more

Marietta Dental Professionals is an excellent dental office! Dr. Patel is very personable with his patients, keeps up to date with new dental procedures and all technology in his field, and never over books his office. His staff, Hanna, Leigh, and Claudia, are very well prepared for their responsibilities and provide very attentive and kind care to the patients, as well as good information about what to expect prior to a procedure or how to care for yourself after an extraction or an implant. Yesterday, I had an implant followed by a cone-beam CT to assess the position of the implant stem. Unfortunately, I fainted while standing for the CT, but Chrystal immediately caught me and insured that I didn't strike my head on the floor. Dr. Patel came in immediately and did all the appropriate things to insure that I was OK. I left the office 30 to 45 minutes later and have been fine since. If they recommend expensive work, get a second opinion. I went in for a checkup 3 years ago and the dentist told me I had six cavities that needed filling. I had never had a cavity before, and I hadn't changed my routine, so needless to say I was horrified! I had the work done, totaling around $500. I moved a few months later, and when I went into my next few checkups with a new dentist I was highly nervous, but she never found anything wrong. It wasn't until a month ago that my current dentist noticed I had a loose filling, and asked when it was done. I told her all of my fillings happened at the same time, and she immediately guessed that I had been scammed. I hesitate to write this because I can't prove anything--but my current dentist says it's EXTREMELY unlikely for me to have 6 (SIX!!) cavities at once, but zero before or after. If they recommend ANY kind of expensive work, do not take their word for it. read more

I wanted to write this review because I believe in the power of great customer service and sharing that knowledge with others! I was deathly afraid of dentists, for a very long time. I dreaded going to the dentist, making the bi-weekly appointment and hating the days when it got closer to cleaning time. However, my dentistry anxiety ceased when I started going to Marietta Dental Professionals. Actually, I have been going to this location for over 12 years since the age of 15 (I'm 27 now)! The front desk is always so nice and friendly, especially Carmen, who has been there since my teenage years. Now as a working young adult, I still make my appointments because of the location, it's literally right across the street from my town home, the friendly service and the hygienists are literally the best I have ever witness. The hygienists are so careful when they are cleaning your teeth, asking you almost every 2 minutes like clock-work if you're ok and explaining everything that they are doing even if you have not a clue of the medical wording. They tell you what they see, what they would like to see and even demonstrate how you should be cleaning a certain problem area. I absolutely love Marietta Dental Professionals for their professionalism and going above and beyond when it comes to absolute customer service. They call and text you to remind you of your appointment, especially with a very busy schedule that I tend to have, I appreciate the calls. Who remembers that they have an appointment in 6 months anyways? Everyone in the office is just so friendly, I couldn't imagine going anywhere else especially since my mother, brother and fiancé are all patients-- it's super convenient. I went for a filling and ended up needing a crown. After Dr. Patel did the filling I haven't been able to chew in that side because of the horrible pain. Now I have to pay $300.00 for a crown because he fractured the tooth when I just needed a small filling. He tried to redo the filling 3 times and still feel the same. There was nobody in the waiting room when I arrived and I didn't wait long but when I got back and began discussing my treatment plan with the doctor, he just didn't seem very confident in his words. UPDATE: After a wonderful 1st experience, I made an appt for the suggested deep cleaning on 2.6.2017 (the day after Super Bowl 51). Two possibilities sprung to mind for why I chose that date: If the Falcons won, I'd be so ecstatic not even a dental cleaning could ruin my mood. If they lost, I would be in a total state of despair & "misery loves company." The 6th of Feb arrived & as devastated as I was, a dental cleaning couldn't make things any worse. But, wouldn't you know it, MDP turned things around for me. Within 10min of my arrival, the dental hygienist (Debbie) retrieved me from the waiting room. She introduced herself & provided me with a VERY comfy neck pillow & a pair of yellow-tinted glasses to dull out the bright-ass light ALL dentists use. She then introduced me to one of the GREATEST innovations since the spit sucker: The Isolite System, a dental isolation device. It combines a mouth piece, a "spit sucker" and vacuum in one MARVELOUS 'how-did-I-EVER-sit-through-a-dental-cleaning-before-you-came-along' device. With fully numbed gums, she began the procedure: A deep cleaning that included cleaning/scraping/spraying my teeth, & underneath my gums, to remove years of plaque build-up caused by my neglect & my sheer, unmitigated aversion to previously mentioned ruthless dentists. Meanwhile, I felt a little pressure, but ABSOLUTELY NO pain! If it hadn't been for the soft roar of the vacuum, I would have fallen asleep. Needless to say, I was perfectly relaxed. The ENTIRE procedure took 1hr. And, from the sound of it, she was very firm, but, I was SUPER numb, so I couldn't have cared less. When finished, she reviewed the brushing/flossing basics, & advised me to come back in 3mos for a regular cleaning. Not one for wasting any time, I made the appt before I left. The procedure left me with super-clean smooth teeth, & I couldn't have been more delighted. Afterwards, the Dental Assistant (Tamara) transferred me to another chair for the next part of my appt: The dreaded (YIKES!) "Cavity Repair" (I had 2, one next to the other). As I've never had one before, I didn't know what to expect. And a Google search was just an ill-advised way, on my part, to find out. Tamara asked me what type of music I wanted to hear via Pandora or You Tube. Due to my eclectic taste in music, & because I was completely terrified, I had no idea how to respond, so, I just said "Rock". Next thing I know, Guns & Roses is playing behind me (YAY!). Tamara & Dr. Patel played a short video, on the wide-screen TV in front of me, describing the repair process. She then placed a Q-tip inside of my cheek, drenched in what was described to me as a heavier version of Chloraseptic, to numb the injection site. After about 5 minutes, Dr. Patel gave me 2 shots of the anesthesia, which again, I DID NOT FEEL! He then drilled/filled/cured/filed the cavities, checked my bite for precision/comfort, & I was ready to go.The left side of my face was so infinitely numb that I presented like a bad Botox procedure if I tried to smile. Dr. Patel advised me that everyone reacts differently to anesthesia, and the numbness would go away in as little as 30min or as long as 4hrs. It took me 3hrs, a small price to pay for an afternoon of pain-free dental procedures, if you ask me. I, genuinely, can't espouse the virtues of MDP enough! If I could shout their excellence from the roof-tops, without being carted off as Cray-Cray, I TOTALLY would! A reasonably priced practice, accepting of numerous insurance policies, staffed by experienced personnel, non-condescending, technologically-driven, focused on patient comfort & pain-free procedures equates to a PERFECT dental office to me! read more

I've been coming here since 2013 and haven't had any issues with the staff.They are always welcoming me and others with opening arms but somehow the miscommunication over the phone led me astray by a new staff member.Today I came in excited ready to finally get my procedure underway, only to find out time was wasted and extra funds were needed to start the procedure.As I could see the volume of customer were low and their attitudes was more like ''oh well sorry but not sorry''Next customer.The feeling of ill will,spin the next deal didn't sit well with me at all.I was truly hurt before I left for the first time at this office. read more
