For other homeowners considering a bathroom remodel, here are a few things I learned that may help. Decide on your trim pieces and colors early, especially tile edging. Choose grout colors carefully and have your shower and sink fixtures in hand ahead of time so you can confirm finishes match, especially with gold tones. Ferguson Home was the best showroom I found for selection and knowledgeable help, but you do need an appointment. If you are considering a smart bidet toilet, do your research, some models are larger than standard toilets, though compact options do exist. If walls are open, consider relocating outlets for best placments, and make sure your vanity light will be centered if your new vanity size changes. Also, you may need bullnose tile that you did not originally order, so plan for that. After returning a shower door to Home Depot, I spent a little more and used Legendary Glass out of Moorpark for a more custom, premium, amazing shower door. We needed to find someone to restart the project, and based on many 5-star reviews in Yelp, we chose Modern Tile. We called Garik, and he came by that same evening to give us an estimate. We hired him immediately. The next day, Garik and his father started the work. They leveled and framed all the sides and covered everything with backer boards. They then cut and installed the tile we had purchased. The job was finished within 3 days, and the results are amazing. Everybody who has seen the fireplace totally loves it. We are very pleased, and highly recommend Modern Tile.
