Then I called them on the phone. I spoke to a young gentleman named Phil. Who immediately hooked me up with the right membership. Ever just meet someone and know you are going to like them? That's Phil! And as I later learned, everyone I've come into contact with that worked there. They were all so friendly, they immediately put me at ease. And made me feel welcome! They turned a seriously nervous newbie into a less nervous Novice... From Heather who worked with me before going into the range. To Mike that helped me with the waiver process. And Joe who kept me from making a mistake with my poor grip. And really made me feel more confident. I can only hope all of my future visits go as well!

Firstly, I encountered what I believe to be racially motivated incidents, which included delayed background checks and invasive personal inquiries. This alone was enough to make me reconsider my patronage. But what truly crossed the line was RangeUSA's refusal to initiate a new background check after 30 days, a policy clearly stated on the ATF's website. This, in my opinion, is an active prevention of my Second Amendment rights, which is unacceptable. Transparency, fairness, and respect for constitutional rights should form the backbone of any business, especially one dealing with firearms. Unfortunately, it seems like RangeUSA falls short in upholding these principles. I am left with no choice but to boycott their services until they address these issues and treat all customers equally and fairly. If being black is good enough for the ATF, it should be good enough for RangeUSA. I am filing a complaint reporting RangeUSA to the ATF for not complying with Federal Law which grants the right for a background check to be resubmitted after a delay and creating store rules that allow them to discriminate. I urge potential customers to think twice before supporting a business that seemingly disregards their customers' rights and treats them differently based on race. There are plenty of other firearm retailers who respect and uphold the principles of fairness, transparency, and constitutional rights.

After a three hour ordeal with the border patrol on both sides, the gentleman at Dearborn Outdoor offered to store it for us while we finished the last leg of our family vacation. Our kids were so depressed when I mentioned we may have to change our plans. So grateful for the save!! PS Canada was great just don't try to bring a handgun for protection.

Westborn is a sort of old school gun shop in an old school strip mall of a building. You won't find a plethora of tacti-cool widgets or the hottest new AR15 pistol (who needs this anyway), but you will find a respectable selection of shotguns, hunting rifles, AR's, and rimfires. I bought a rimfire rifle here and found it to be a quite respectable price. Good chat from the folks, too, every time I've been in, and I agree with a previous comment about this being a welcome exception to many gun shops these days-- that feel a little bit too much of an aggressive mixture of tinfoil hats and thin blue lines. Handgun selection is modest as well and includes a respectable range of 1911's and your quotidian striker-fired, a couple revolvers and the odd, one-off silencer. Great selection of mags, holsters, gun cleaning supplies and tools, reloading accessories, and ammunition in most calibers, including lead-free .17 and .22, which I've found super hard to find.
