The staff at Southampton Dog welcomed us with open arms and special attention. My dog was nervous at first but after several staff stopped by to meet her, she relaxed and went off for her new adventure. My dog is special needs and several staff members had experience with her condition even though most people have never heard of it. I recently filled out the online questionnaire for a puppy adoption and received a prompt message that all was fine with my application and that all required was a call from them to my veterinarian. Two days later contacted ARF to get an update. The cold reply from ARF is that they gave the puppy away already. Never a courtesy call back or message to share the news that my application had been tossed because someone showed up while ARF awaiting callback from my Vet. Happy the puppy found a home. Very disappointing client relations with ARF. People who fill out all those questions on the application are already emotionally vested. Terrible community relations. Maybe ARF should get the veterinary part of the interview process done first so this kind of BS doesn't reoccur.

The dog was completely uncivilized, having grown up on the streets of Kosovo her whole life. Within several training sessions, there was a noticeable difference and Corinn was able to start transforming my foster into a special dog any family would be proud of. I since went on to adopt a rescue of my own and I once again sought out Corinn's expertise and enrolled my bernadoodle, Hannah, in Corinn's Puppy 2 Class. My sweet girl learned patience, obedience and how to listen to my commands while being distracted by other dogs in the room. I believe my relationship with Hannah has deepened to a mutual respect of each other because I acquired the skills and training to raise a well-behaved and happy dog. I tell our trainers Katie and Nicole all of the time that they are life savers. We brought our puppy here at 1 years old - a small wild, energetic Jack Russell who knew every time I was on a video meeting to bark his head off and embarrass me EVERY TIME! Walks were out of the question since he would pull on the leash to the point he would choke himself... sitting on the deck was a nightmare in our own backyard because he would bark at the wind (yes, the wind), the leaves moving, the birds and obviously the neighbors. Does this sound familiar? I questioned my decision of getting a puppy and then I found Max K9. We did a 3 week Board & Train where I was super hesitant of dropping him off (because no one wants to leave their baby anywhere), but they were so good with sending video progress and pictures and including my husband and I in the process. I joke with everyone that I think they implanted a program into his brain! Lol! The transformation was unreal. We were instantly able to communicate with him and actually go on a walk.. outside in the real world. What a breath of fresh air, literally! Max K9 has given us the ability to live an active lifestyle and have our pup enjoy it with us. We were having trouble trying to help him adjust from living in the south on a large property to living in a one bedroom apartment with cats and a smaller back yard. We were set up with our trainer, Jim, he educated us on how to handle Keiko properly (from basic obedience to different enrichment), build a better bridge of communication and help with his confidence. Our last session Keiko even decided he was going to try one of the obstacles from maximum K9's agility course (no prompting from us) shocking both me and my fiancé. Safe to say Keiko loves Maximum K9 as much as we do . Since our training we have been able to do so much more and get Keiko better involved in our activities (which we know he loves). They also have so many great treats, toys, and training tools for those at varying levels in their store portion.
