Someone tripped me and it chipped my front left tooth. Fast forward to 2018, my ex fiancé hit me in the face with his motorcycle helmet. I wasn't a candidate for oral surgery, and my face shape started changing. My jaw started slipping and I didn't know where to properly rest my teeth in my own mouth. My jaw was constantly inflamed. My smile which was once my greatest asset had became a burden to look at myself in a mirror. I struggled to chew, talk, or yawn. I felt angry all the time. I did pt for 2 years and became frustrated. I did emdr for the trauma. I got an idea from a person I knew to get braces in TJ in 2023 June. I had high hopes it would finally help with my tmj issue because they said so. Treatment meant for one year turned into two and eventually, the trust was gone. They claim to have lost my medical records and panoramic xrays I shared with them. All hope felt lost until I spoke to my dentist about everything. I was then referred to elite orthodontics, from my dentist who had formerly worked with Dr. Ehsani. My first appointment here was for a consult back on February 24. It was fast, and pretty straightforward. I was offered financing options as well. They took panoramic X-rays, dental mapping with mouth wands, and close up inspections. I was torn about how much the price was because I wish I had just gone to Dr. Ehsani from the very start, but we live and we learn, right? Before coming to this office, I developed some tooth sensitivity which my dentist identified as pressure from improper positioning causing enamel wear. Those dentists in TJ recommended something that didn't help, and I used it consistently for a few months. The sensitivity came back (because previous treatment gave a temp fix), which lead me to seek professional advice from both Dr. Ehsani and Dr. Freda. I trust them both, and appreciate that I can always seek a second opinion from either of them. They make a great team, and I feel welcome here. Also if anyone got this far, you should know the banter between the hygienists is worth witnessing. I always come before lunch hour due to my home location near Carlsbad- yes, they're worth the drive. So, if you want to, go ahead and fix your smile. Elite kept me well informed and even recommended me an amazing oral surgeon when I was having trouble finding one that worked with my insurance. The office is clean and has a section for all your braces needs like wax, floss, toothbrushes, etc. there are also three sinks where you can brush and floss before getting your braces tightened. Every visit felt efficient and fast. The techs who tightened my braces were always professional and gentle. Special shoutout to Ashley who always was so friendly anytime she tightened my braces. I saw both Dr Ehsani and Dr Sabet and they were both phenomenal throughout my treatment before and after surgery. The front desk was always responsive and answered all my silly questions via text message. I can't stress how friendly everyone is in the office!! My daughter came in for her first appointment 6 weeks ago after complaining of tooth pain. We came in for the procedure and he assured us that thankfully all her other teeth looked great, and after we discussed with the dr how to prevent a small cavity from turning into something this severe. He stated that a routine cleaning every 6 months could make the difference in catching something before it becomes this bad to need such a painful procedure. We then made an appointment for a cleaning in 6 months and asked if there was any follow up for this procedure and we were told no. On Monday my daughter complained about tooth pain on the opposite side of her mouth, and so I called to make an appointment. On the phone I was told she needed to schedule a first consultation and when I stated we had already been seen 6 weeks ago, the receptionist stated the first consultation we had was only to X-ray the tooth that was in pain. I then asked how the Dr could have told us all the other teeth looked great if they hadn't done X-rays on any other teeth, she left the phone and came back and said the Dr stated it was just a visual check and that cavities just pop up. Very concerned, and confused I asked why we were not told that our first consultation was not a first consultation and why we were never told to make that appointment. She stated they have a third party call center that makes appointments and it was a admin error. Concerned for my 4 year old I stated that because of this admin error we were told her other teeth were okay through what we assumed was an Xray, and not a "visual check" and that if we had known this 6 weeks ago we would have made the appropriate first consultation appointment immediately to prevent further pain and damage. She will now have to have a more extensive work done because of this error, and so I asked what we could have done differently and I was told to talk to the dentist about my concerns at the appointment. I then came in for my appointment today, and was told to sit and wait in the waiting room full of clients. A woman then came out and very publicly told me that because of the phone call the Dr would no longer comfortable treating my 4 year old. I asked her why I was not called ahead of time to cancel the appointment and she stated she did. I received no such call or message to either number on file, and was humiliated in front of my children and the entire office and waiting room. Another admin error? Needless to say I am very concerned for how this was handled and how they chose to deal with what THEY described as their admin error. She could have pulled me aside privately, or called and left a message to cancel but instead chose to humiliate me for what was described to me as an admin error. If you care about your kids read the other 1 star reviews and take your kids somewhere else for goodness sake. I was recommended here by a friend and after hearing about this they are also cancelling their appointments.
