The worst. My sister's prom corsage was horrible. Flowers were limp and browning, on top of itchy fake grass. I brought the corsage to another florist and asked them if they could make an emergency corsage (Prom was that day). They took one look at it and said any decent florist would never present flowers in that condition. I will never be back. And I will tell all my friends and family about our awful experience. I called to get an arrangement for an open house. Laura was terrific to work with, I explained what we were looking for and how it would be displayed, we collaborated on color scheme and type of flowers to use. She also did a lovely orchid in a clear container with moss and pebbles that turned out beautiful. This was all done in a matter of hours. I usually get flowers for clients at Big Apple Florist in NYC which is very top of the line. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality and design I got from Gefken here in our town! read more

Omg!! My daughter and I received our Valentine's Day flowers from Gefken's. They are the longest, most beautiful lavender roses I've ever seen. They smell amazing and are blooming beautifully. Gefken's delivered them to my job early (so everyone got to see them:)) and even gave me a box to bring them home if I wanted. My husband was super impressed too! Absolute Incompetence I placed an order online on February 10th to be delivered on February 21st. They charged my card on the 13th, and then tried to deliver the bouquet, to the wrong address mind you, on the 14th. They called the recipient to tell her they delivered it to the wrong address and she called me to say thanks. Unfortunately, it was also the wrong day. I called to straighten it out and the man I spoke with explained they must have overlooked the date in the Valentines Day rush. Why they keep orders for the 21st next to order for the 14th is beyond me, but they assured me it would go out on the 21st. So, on the 21st I called to confirm and the woman who answered initially said they were supposed to be closed the 21st so I couldn't have placed an order for today. After explaining that I had, in fact placed one since they had already bungled it once and charged my card, it took half an hour for the woman to search through her records to find the order they had already charged me. This has been an excruciating experience and I would not recommend that anyone try Gefken if they want anniversary flowers to be delivered on the correct day. read more

Very disappointed....I love sending flowers to people and do so often. I recently ordered flowers for my sisters birthday and what she received was no where near what the picture showed on the website. I realize flowers can be substituted but this arrangement was clearly thrown together cheaply, the vase and ribbon also not as pictured. There was no creativity or color scheme. The arrangement cost $80 and I probably could have done better at Wegmans for a 1/3 of the cost. Unfortunately I will never order from this florist again. read more

As soon as you walk through the door and smell the incense you can already feel the experience of this shop! The greenhouse is serene with a beautiful array of potted plants and you feel as you just step inside of a tropical escape! The flowers were fresh and the owner's expertise was amazing! I also love the diversity of flowers not only roses but beautiful orchids, gerber daisies and exotic lilies. I ordered a mixed bouquet and it was designed better than I imagined as the owner added her own touch of flair. I buy flowers weekly for my home and business and usually go the cheap route and settle for a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's generic array of flowers but I have found my new flower home! I agree with the real reviews that would give this business no stars. I ordered an arrangement through 1800flowers and they were the local florists that were to make and deliver the arrangement. Delivery date was supposed to be June 13. I gave all contact info of the recipient (as required). They never received the arrangement. I called 1800flowers back on Saturday(since I ordered through 1800flowers, I had to call them) and was guaranteed that it would be delivered on Monday. Monday afternoon, Gefken (the local florist chosen by 1800flowers) calls my cell looking for my recipient. I re-confirm the address and phone number (which I provided in the order) and ask them what happened on Friday? The assistant responds that she guesses they called my cell on Friday and left a voicemail confirming someone would be there to accept. I tell her that I never received such call nor voicemail on Friday and that she shouldn't guess. She goes on a tangent about how I'm not right or wrong and she's not right or wrong..I stop her and ask for the owner. The owner gets on the phone, frazzled and argues with me that I should call local florists in the area next time. She blamed 1800flowers for choosing her business to make/deliver my arrangement. At this point, I still don't get an apology but ask if the arrangement will be delivered, to which both owner and assistant said yes. I told them that I don't really need excuses, just apologize for the mistake and deliver the goods, to which she hangs up on me. I had to immediately call 1800flowers and told them what just happened, to which I was told they'd contact that local florist and make sure the flowers were delivered. Monday night, after 9 pm, no delivery. Gefken is rude and unprofessional. Deal with them at your own risk. There are hundreds more florists out there that are professional and won't steal your money. read more
