I bought a new car, I was so excited but that was short lived. State Farm doubled my insurance, so I went shopping. I called several agencies for a quote, Auto Complete represents Geico, they had the best price, supposedly for the same coverage I had at State Farm. It was not the same. A few months later I had a broken windshield and realized the agent Nick Fallano, did not include glass coverage in my policy. I was pretty upset I had to pay $500 to have it replaced. I asked to have this added to my policy, he quoted just shy of $29. This started a hellish nightmarish chain of events that you would not believe! I started getting emails stating my credit card was going to be charged $945, then $6,855, then $770, then $733. I freaked! I called the agent, he said I needed to talk to Geico. I called Geico, they said I needed to talk to the agent. Then to add insult to injury they canceled my policy!!!! ON A SATURDAY, I got an email. I have going round and round, I have finally received some of the money reimbursed, they still owe me $107, and a big, big, big apology!!! TO DATE I HAVE RECEIVED NOT ONE APOLOGY!!!! I purchased a vehicle on Saturday and tried to get an endorsement for rideshare driving so that I had the additional coverage and being transparent with the insurance company. I was transferred around on Saturday while at the dealership, but was still being avoided until Monday when I called back, and was summarily hung up on because I needed to get the insurance and was willing to pay whatever, but because I said needed this to happen within the hour I was hung up on. This is not exclusive to GEICO, as this happened with 2 other insurance companies I tried to get a quote from but certainly signals a dangerous precedent from large corporations that we NEED to pay attention to. I have been with Geico for at least the last 7 years. Have been paying them around 500 for a 6 month auto policy on my Dodge Caravan. 0n 06/16/25 Geico decided that my policy rate should increase from $500 for a 6 month policy to 1,690 for the same policy. Why the big increase, well to make extra money I decided that I would Uber a few hours a day. Guess Geico thought I was a bad person for doing so, My subscription went from 500 dollars every 6 months to 1,690 for the same auto. Not sure if they just don't like Uber or the fact that I was making extra money in this tight economy. If Geicos objective was to shut me down, Congratulations! because I am not able to handle a rate increase from 500 to 1,690 so naturally I have to let Uber go, mainly because you need to have your vehicle insured to drive with them Although Uber has there own insurance in case of an accident while driving. I received no notice of the rate increase or reasons behind it, just one day someone at Geico decided they would just change my rate and tell me to eat it. read more

My family spent many trouble-free years paying thousands to Geico for our auto insurance. We will never do so again after they refused to take any accountability for a home policy issue that ultimately cost us $10,000 to repair a roof. Geico was partnered with Hartford then and did the phone intake for their home policies. We hadn't lived in our house long enough to know the roof age so the Geico agent arbitrarily keyed in an unverified "1999" date at the point of sale. A year into the policy, and three weeks before our wind-damaged roof claim, Hartford automatically inserted a clause that reduced our roof payout to about a quarter of replacement costs, based on the roof age as calculated by Geico's "1999" guesswork. Geico twice referred my objection to their "complaint team", which never contacted me directly and quickly parroted what Harford told them. Hardly unbiased due diligence. When I asked to hear the recorded phone call with the original intake agent, Geico stated it no longer existed. I spoke with Geico executives, submitted matters to the BBB, and filed with the state insurance department. At each stage, Geico dodged responsibility. After falsely speculating I provided the "1999" estimation at intake, Geico pushed the notion that I should have noticed it buried in their "business packet" documents. Assuming I had, what actions would I have taken, since I was unaware of the actual roof age? Having never been advised at intake that roof age had consequences, why would the date have concerned me? If I knew, we could have opted for an upgraded or different policy, perhaps with an alternate insurer. Dear Geico: YOUR agents gathered information from potential clients, guided callers through policy options, and essentially set up home policies between customer and another carrier. As paying policyholders, we were entitled to an explanation of the process used by YOUR agent to select a conjectured roof installation date. You refused to provide that, instead deflecting this singular question, which implies you acknowledge the process was flawed. When invited to dispute this, you never responded. Geico agents I've since spoken to on the phone could not give a definitive answer as to how a date is chosen when neither party knows a roof age. YOUR failure to properly document the roof age upfront, or even propose I research it, set in motion a predetermined process with financial repercussions for my family. Trying to shift fault to the client or fall back on your now-divorced partner is despicable. What Hartford later said or did externally is irrelevant to YOUR internal procedure. Had a date of "2000" been randomly entered by YOUR employee rather than "1999", our claim would have been uncontested. I am a senior, this was my first-ever home claim with anyone and the last policy we will arrange with you. Your company earns billions and finances an animated gecko. You should care more for your long-term clients than for furthering the negative stereotype of insurance companies. It's now been five years...but my family won't forget. Geico is definitely a ripoff. The original quote included their Drive Easy program. Since my husband drives very few miles and doesn't always take his cell phone, he was charged additionally for inadequate data. Then when he cancelled Drive Easy, his premium increased. When he went to cancel the policy after 5 weeks, his refund for 5 months of insurance was equal to about 3 months worth. Obviously, he is cancelling and returning to State Farm. read more

As long as you pay your premium and never need them they are fine. As soon as you need them they become your adversary. We had a claim from a rearend at about 2 miles an hour with no damages to either car. We informed them that the passenger claimed he may wakeup with injuries. Needless to say by 11am the morning after(less than 12 hours) after incident, Geico called to inform us they filed a claim with injuries and damage(fraud alert) but at the end, Geico paid out 900 dollars for car damage and 5000 to two parties in car for damage. A few months later, our policy renewal included an increase over the next three years of 1300 per year. So much for having your back They suck. That is why Insurance fraud is up and premiums are sky high. Didn't even question. Moved on and will never go back. Their 97% satisfaction rate is BS. read more

I have been with Geico Insurance since 2016 when I had my first major car accident and my Farmers agent did nothing to help me and Allstate which was the insurance from the girl that ran into me was awful. The rental car agency told me that in their experience Geico treated people the best. I checked around with people I knew that had Geico and they all loved it. So as soon as I got my new car I went into the Geico office on Camelback Rd. and was greeted by an agent named Daran Davis. I switched all my insurances to Geico and my son was with me and he switched all of his too. Insurance is a necessity so I prefer to have someone that I know I can call and talk to rather than calling a call center. This office always greets you when you walk in the door and everyone works together to help one another.I am so thankful to know that when I need help I can call and ask for Daran and he will solve my problem with a kind, friendly attitude. Unfortunately there are somethings they don't let the agents do now but he gave me the numbers to call and what do ask for so when I got home I could get the rest done. I took it to an t approved repair shop. the shop sent quotes. they were approved by GEICO. once try w shop started dong the repairs GEICO denied paying for some of the items that were previousky approved. my car sat and I couldn't pick it up because GEICO wouldnt pay for the repairs that were needed. my rental ran out. GEICO refused to extend and I got charged for that too. I pay deductibkes and a very high premium for nothing. I have always been a GEICO fan. Have had GEICO car insurance for 30 years, dating back to when it was the Federal government's employee insurer. While you have never had a dedicated agent, their phone and online service were good And rates used to be competitive. But since they've gone public so-to-speak and their commercials have gotten better, their service has gotten worst. Not having agents is now a liability to getting attention, answers, customized service/rates. i have always been bundled(home, auto, everything). No at-fault accidents, etc. So I was shocked when the one time I did file a claim (minor damage to my SUV when I sideswiped my vehicle on the post in the narrow lane of a parking garage, which I could have--and now I see should have--paid for myself), I was labeled a wreckless, out-of-control and had my umbrella policy suddenly cancelled. Of course they offered me a policy with one of their partners (with whom imagine they get a commission?) for five times as much. I purchased a new home, cancelled my old house insurance 2 months ago I . I called to file a claim with Assurant (Geico's second party homeowners insurance) for a water main break under house. They did not have my policy on file. I was transfer 4 times and I finally gave up and got lucky calling another number to find out they did not cancel my old home insurance and never found out why they could not find my new policy number. I had to call yet another number to file a claim and was discounted twice. Called again a got through and able to file a claim. Then I received a text asking 10 questions and to add pictures of the damage. I had to answer this or my claim would not be filed. All of this was a terrible experience and looking for new homeowners and car insurance. read more

I am very happy to report that i am no longer with Geico. i switched to Root insurance and am saving $59 a month. Root bases your rates on your driving not on the people who cause the accidents like Geico does. They are so dishonest that they unbeknownst to me were reporting to other insurance companies that the two not at fault accidents that i was involved in were my fault so i would get high quotes and couldnt leave but continued to lie to me that it shows not my fault. They subrogated both accidents and were reimbursed in full yet everytime i came up for renewal afterwards they raised my rates $15.00 per month the first time i got hit and $20.00 per month after the second accident in which i was rearended by an unlicensed driver who fortunately did have collision coverage with A All ins. They allowed my car to be towed by a crooked towing company who took it to a storage yard and is now holding it hostage for storage fees. They are also incapable of getting me a rental car. My son sold his house in 2020, his escrow had just paid his home insurance to Geico two weeks earlier. Fast forward to Nov. 2021 and Geico contacted him to tell him of non-payment to his policy renewal. He informed that he had sold the house a year ago. They wanted proof. So, he sent them the closing documents and they decided to refund him about 288.00 dollars. He paid about 900.00 for two weeks of insurance. That is how much they decided he had to pay. I had to call in repeatedly and the claim representatives were extremely unprofessional and unknowledgeable of how to answer questions regarding my insurance claim. They sent me to a bad repair collision center which damaged my vehicle and the Geico claims department did not contact me to inquire and investigate. After a month a voice message was left by an adjuster, I had never spoken with, refusing to accept damages and no refund of my deductible was given. I have been a loyal customer of Geico Insurance Co since 2009 and I feel that in the last few years changes have been made to the company and it's a big disaster and a mess! The company does not acknowledge nor do they care about the customer who pays for auto insurance in order to receive protection when there is a collision or damages involved. Their staff stinks and they have no idea what insurance is if they feel they can boot "you out" and not explain anything to you!! They have no understanding of the law, and ethical standards for processing a claim!! The fail to contact you or have an adjuster involved who can make sure the job is done properly.
