I had a problem with the split unit being clogged and the emergency pan overflowed. The first technician, EJ, came out and added two clean out ports and got some debris out. He was pleasant, explained what he found, and got the AC working again. The unit was also serviced.
A few days later I went up to add a chemical to the line to dissolve any build up, and water to flush it out. The water backed up to the emergency pan. I called Geiger and they sent out the service manage, Tom, at no charge, and vacuumed out the line.
When I was up there I noticed the primary and emergency pan were connected to one line out. There were too many 90 degree turns in my opinion. The house was older and the HVAC plumbing had been there many years. I planned to discuss this with the service manager, but he brought these issues up first. He said normally there are two lines; one from the primary unit, and the other from the emergency drip pan. These lines run a straight line out to the eaves. They usually have emergency float switches to shut the unit off if there is a clog. They worked up an estimate and did the work today.
Ryan and Seth show up as scheduled and put two lines and emergency float switches in. They explained what they were doing, why, and answered all my questions. They check the unit to make sure it was working correctly.
I am very happy with Geiger. They are professional, knowledgeable, listen, and give you pros and cons of options. They show up on time normally, if delayed they gave me a call. They were never more than 15 minutes late. I sent up a maintenance plan so they will come out two times a year. I believe in preventative maintenance and I am happy I choose Geiger Heating and Air. read more
