My favorite ice cream here is the scarpetela white ice cream with chocolate chips! They give you big scoops of ice cream. My cone came with 3 scoops! This place is 5 minute walk from the Miami Beach. This Gelateria wasn't necessarily fresh gelato, but it was very good! I would recommend trying a milkshake. The milkshakes are a lot creamier then abnormal ice cream shake. The cookies and cream milk shake was a big hit in my family. They enjoyed the milky taste of it. You also can mix up to three flavors in the shakes, so you can choose many options. This is by far one of the best tasting Gelato's my authentic Italian husband and I have had. We were both impressed with the flavor and texture light and smooth. We had the sour cherry and nocciola. We tried a small because you can mix 2 flavors (the bigger the size the more flavors you can get). We tried the pistachio and the Oreo. Really creamy, really flavorful ice cold goodness. Oh I left here yesterday and I was unamused. Now in fairness, I was here once before and it was fine. Lovely. So unfine yesterday. My friend and I stopped in to grab gelato for my bf. I let the girl know it would be to go and told her it was for someone else. I mentioned twice that it would be to go. She attempted to upsale me it seems and described/offered a larger box. Not sure why bf would need a gift box looking container of gelato, so I politely thanked her, but no. So she scoops the ice cream into a small cup and hands it to me with a spoon. I reminded her that it was to go, for someone else and asked if I might please have a top. A cover. Something to contain the item. She looked at me as if I was the fool and said that of course they don't have any!!! Silly foolish Lou! I was like...ummmm...I mentioned three times that it's to go. She stared at me and we both sort of stood there. I can't even believe I stayed as long as I did. Another woman comes out from the back (seemed like a manager) and the counter girl tells the manager that I want a cover. The manager is unfriendly and annoyed (??!!) as she tells me I can buy the Macy's gift box looking container, but no cover. I asked if at lest they can cover it with another cup. Again the manager became annoyed and reached over telling me they don't have covers. I told HER that this was swiftly turning into a Seinfeld episode. They stare. I then ask for a bag as I have a bit of a walk, it's warm and therefore barely covered gelato will probably melt. How about she practically threw a bag at me and walked away. I just wanted to thank the blonde associate who was working tonight (Sunday 22) after being out of town for 2 weeks I didn't realize how humid and hot it got. I took my dog on a walk and he was super hot. I was afraid he was overheating so I went into the shop ordered a scoop (that I only ordered to ask to get him water). She was so nice and brought water and even though he spilled it and then proceeded to lay in it because he was so hot she didn't mind. She went and got him more. It really showed her compassion and although I offered to mop his mess she told me it's not a problem. It's hard to find people who genuinely care when you are in a tough spot. I visited the store at 670 Lincoln Rd and had the passion fruit and yogurt flavors. The gelato was amazing! The passion fruit was perfectly tart, yet sweet, and the yogurt really balanced it out. A but expensive, but delicious. read more

I am a resident of South Pointe where 4D Gelateria is located. 4D is the 3rd Gelato store located in the same location in the past 5 years. The first place was great but sold to the 2nd owner. It went downhill and closed, and now 4D has opened. The Gelato is very good. Lots of fresh fruit, quality ingredients. The attitude, policies and service is terrible. Examples: Price of a small (2 scoop) is $5.90. There is no kids size. Price for a large is over $7 probably $7.90 but I can't recall. If you don't ask, it comes in a cup. I was recently in with my 4 year old son. After we got a small for $5.90, gave the girl a tip - so paid $7.00 all together for one order of Gelato, my son said "I wanted a cone" I asked for the empty cone and the girl said $.50 please... I asked if the price was the same for a cone or a cup and she said yes. I said, if I got a cone and asked for a cup would you charge me? She said no. SO if you don't ask for the cone first, you need to pay $.50.. that is on top of the $7 I just gave them. The 2 scoops were good size but not huge. Then, my son dropped the cone. They didn't replace it. The son of the owner said basically too bad that is our policy. SO, in an empty store at 1:30 pm on a Saturday afternoon, you would rather give a local resident/repeat customer, with a child, an attitude than a free empty cone? 3rd store in 5 years. Lets just start by saying that the name 4D doesn't mean anything in the gelato business or at least doesn't awaken your taste buds. Let's add that the colors ( brown, gold) don't really inspire to a fresh gelato on a sunny day......but i didn't judge a book by its cover so i went in and ordered....the choices are very classic, nothing special and the selection is kinda of limited.The flavors are ok, nothing to make you go out of your way. The kick is the price..... I know we are on Lincoln road, but there is no need for the F*** you price. $8 for 3 ridiculous scoops which doesn't even fill up your cup. I imagine that the new owner had to pay a crazy price to buy out the previous owner....but you are selling ice cream not pastry from Fauchon..... I missed the old gelatoria that used to be there, I used to pay $5 for the same size ice cream with way more flavor choices....it's the tourist season, let's talk again in September.... read more

Walked out last night without ordering when I saw a couple sitting at a counter eating inside with their 2 small dogs and picked one up and let it stand on the counter while they ate their gelato. While I was looking at the flavors, they set the dog back on the floor for a minute and then picked him back up and sat him back on the counter while they finished. Sorry, but I just can't eat anything in a place where a dog's ass has been on the surface where I might be eating... No one that worked there seemed concerned. read more

I'd first like to say the gelato is very good. However, with all the competition in south beach, the establishments need top notch service to have repeat business. I came here with my family, and the first thing I wanted to do was use the restroom to wash my hands. The door was lock, and thinking someone was inside, I waited for almost 5 minutes. No one told me nothing, then I decided to ask the cashier. She said the restroom was closed, and she did not have a key. I felt they could of put a sign up instead of making me wait for nothing. This place has a lot of business, and can make over 200.00 an hour easily. What would it cost to have a plumber come by and fix the restroom, 300- 500.00 on an emergency call. This makes me feel the owner is cheap and doesn't care about his customers, or the employees lied, and closed the restrooms so they don't have to clean them up after the place closes. Then theres a sign with a no-sugar added menu, and there was 4 flavors. Out of the 4, only 1 flavor was available. Again, they could of removed the sign, revise it, and just say what flavors they have. You stand in line waiting, then when your ready to order, you have to re-think what you want to get. read more
