    Strawberry and Melon Gelato

My friends told me that Florence has some of the best tasting cheap gelato and I found it here! Pros: - Very unique flavors - I just ended up getting fruit flavors bc that's what I like - 2 euros for small (two scoops) - Very friendly worker Cons: - Place is small but you can either eat your gelato near the river or on your climb to Piazza Michelangelo

    Great outdoor seating

I think I may be the only one who may not like this Gelateria... or too picky with my gelato tastes? I have eaten here twice and today's flavors were coconut, mint, and peanut. All the flavors were too sweet and the coconut did not even taste like coconut with strange cookie-like granules mixed in. I know it's blasphemy, but I actually threw away half of my gelato! Who does that?! No matter how much I tried to like the gelato, I just couldn't eat it. Maybe I'll come back and try the granita. The gelato prices €2, €2.50, €3.50, €5.00 & €6.00. The portion for price is comparable to other gelateria shops in town. The two stars goes to the really nice decor, comfortable indoor and extra outdoor spaces.

NOT HERE FOR ICE CREAM ONLY While this place should be reviewed for its gelato, I actually don't find attractive their flavors. But, the place itself is brilliant and cosy. At the entrance, ice cream desk, but you can read they can make also granita, crepes, donuts, local cookies with traditional liquor, different kinds of coffee, with different kinds of milk. In the fridge there's quite the selection of frozen gateaux you can order and take away. Behind the scenes, you wouldn't expect that, a large living room with sofas and tea tables, rounded tables and a free wifi! So yes, this place is a gelateria, but I actually suggest to spend your time, study when it's rainy and you don't know where to go or sunny and you enjoy the outdoor space facing the Arno. Thumbs up for this place!

Amazing cafe and perfect service! The ambiance and setting is cozy and feels cam/peaceful. We ordered caffe, panino (sandwich) and a sweet. All were perfect and was served to us in the back. Great music, comfortable seating and a great way to rest after a long walk (especially in the pouring rain). We recommend and will try to come back for the gelato!

    Strawberry & peach gelato. WOW

My girlfriend and I were strolling through the center of Firenze when we decided to cross over the Ponte Vecchio Bridge to see what was up on the other side of town - Little did we know we were in for such a treat. Upon crossing the bridge and gazing back at the beautiful city, we stumbled upon this hidden gem right nearby. I first tried the hazelnut & pistachio gelato. Oh my god! It's like there was a party in my mouth. The texture & flavor was amazing. Pistachio was fresh -maybe a tad too sweet-but nonetheless amazing. I was so blown away that as my girlfriend was eating her strawberry gelato, I decided to go for round 2 and picked up a strawberry & peach gelato. Perfect taste and fresh. I have to say that this is by far the best Gelato in Florence! Gelateria Vivaldi small size will run you €2 and the medium will cost €2.50. The gelato shop is located in a great spot. There are plenty of tables with shade and you can just eat your gelato and gaze at the beauty that Firenze has to offer. Saluti!

Looks like poo, but it's the BEST chocolate gelato I've had in Italy. Best part is that it's vegan. Lactose intolerant people, rejoice!

R E J O I C E DELICIOUS VEGAN GELATO Italian gelato for folks who can't have dairy or just prefer to be vegan! I've been in Italy for a week now and have just been disappointed by the gelato I've had thus far. I stumbled onto this gem while looking for a place to sit while waiting for our dinner reservations around the corner. I saw the vegan sign for lunch, but didn't think they actually think they made vegan gelato. I sampled both the dark chocolate (vegan option) and chocolate (dairy option) and actually preferred the dark chocolate option. The gelato is so creamy and rich. I'm a huge fan of rich, dense chocolate cakes and this was the jackpot for me. It was my favorite cake, but in gelato form. The small size will run you €2 and the medium will cost you €2.50. You probably won't need more gelato than that. Just come back tomorrow to try more flavors! The cafe is very cute and plays awesome music. The vibe is very relaxed and a great place to study or catch up with friends. I'll come back here everyday to try all 6 of their vegan flavors.

    Pistachio and Oreo ;)

This is a cute little ice cream shop right next to the Arno river. There is a fairly large variation of ice cream and it's all very fresh! I had the Oreo and pistachio flavors which went really well together. However the reason why this place earned 5 stars is because of the hidden cafe behind the ice cream shop. This beautiful cafe is an amazing addition and is very quiet space which i can imagine is a great work space and better yet seems to only harbor Italian customers! Clearly making the cafe a more desirable location. Back to ice cream, the pistachio is great, the Oreo is great, almond, yogurt and stracciatella are really really nice. Those are the ones my group tried, I'm sure the rest are also good too!

Best gelato in Florence!!! Great drinks as well, if you don't speak italian very well its ok because some of the servers speak english. There is also free wifi and its air conditioned.

If you're heading to Piazzale Michelangelo from ponte vecchio, you won't miss this cute little gelateria. The consistency is creamy and flavors use natural ingredients. Grab a gelato and head to the Michelangelo terrace or the Rose garden.

Coffee and lemon: best gelato I've had in my life.

Best gelato in Italy so far. Legitimate gelato. Real deal. Strong flavors. Delicious. I'd leave a pic but it's gone...

Would definitely suggest for a nice stop near the Arno river in a more quiet area of Florence.

If the espresso bar side is closed, you can go to the gelato side and they have the pistachio and orignal there as well. The full menu is only available at the espresso bar. I ordered the hazelnut and it was delicious. I still dream of this affogato. Smooth, rich, perfect mix of sweetness and bitterness. I do think this is worth a stop if you are in Florence.

The seed was planted, so I made it a point to check out Vivoli when I was in the Saint Croce neighborhood. There appeared to be 3 queues at Vivoli: one for the cafe/bistro, one for the gelateria, and one specifically for affogato. I think it was possible to get the affogato from the first queue, but I stood in the affogato only line just to make sure. The queue moved pretty quickly. I probably waited around 15-20 minutes to place my order, which I did on a self-serve automated kiosk. I gave my ticket/receipt to a barista after paying, and then she started working on my drink right away. The process of making the affogato was very fast, and it was fun to watch. I noticed that unlike a regular affogato back in the USA, which is typically one big gelato scoop, Vivoli fills half a cappucino sized cup with gelato and then adds scoops around the edges to form a square shape. I got pistachio, so the gelato gets dipped into chopped pistachio bits. (The pistachio bits did add a nice texture.) Lastly, fresh espresso was poured in. Vivoli had a counter that could fit about 3-4 standing persons. Other than that, there's no where to sit inside the affogato storefront. Mostly everyone else tried to find a spot outside to enjoy their affogato. Although I did enjoy my affogato, I didn't find it particularly different than one I've tried back at home. It was just the prettiest.
