Was driving by in the neighborhood and found this cute little spot. Glad we decided to give it a try. We were greeted by Arve, who was the absolute BEST. She made the most delicious crepe with strawberry ice cream.... Phenomenal! I also ordered the milk & cereal gelato. I've had some renditions of this flavor, but it is the first time I have found a spot that NAILED it. Amazing service and food. What more could you ask for? Gelati is a glitzy, upscale ice cream shop selling delectable ice cream with a steep price tag. Arriving on a Tuesday evening, my child companion and I shared two scoops - a cotton candy and cherry. The cotton candy was fully unremarkable (expected for a choice that relies on aesthetics over taste), but the cherry was an absolute stunner. Rich, creamy, yet not too heavy, this was one of the best cherries I've had in my ice cream career. The shop was clean and upscale with a nice grassy backdrop and neon for photo ops, although the multiple drink cases sitting outside their refrigerators in the sitting area ready to be reloaded was somewhat off putting. The associate who helped us was very friendly and allowed us to sample multiple choices before we selected our final two. The price - $10 for two small scoops in a plastic bowl - was very sharp, however. Despite the amazing flavor of the cherry, this small quantity of ice cream doesn't command such a high price tag. Perhaps it is because the gelato(i) is imported? While tariffs are the flavor du jour in Feb 2025, I doubt we can fully attribute this price to current events. I went to Gelati for the first time tonight, visiting my girlfriend in Glendale and started craving a crepe for an unknown reason and Gelati was first to come up with it being late (11pm) I was excited. As I walked into the store I was greeted by Frank and Diana with warm smiles on their faces ready to take my order. I asked if I could create my own crepe to which Frank was eager to start making. I got the crepe with strawberries, bananas, Nutella and Oreos! He was also nice enough to give me a discount and not put down the Oreos because it was my first time in the store. I was going to take it to go but he insisted to keep it for there. I sat down with my girlfriend at a cute table top for 2 and he politely walked out and handed us the crepe and gave us multiple utensils (even though I only have my girl a couple of bites) she loved it and I loved it as well. Gelati just opened in West of Hollywood today. I was getting in my car after I finished with my TraderJoes shopping and noticed this new place just under TJ on Santa Monica Blvd . Since it was a very hot day I decided to stop by and get some ice cream. The place looks amazing and they display so many different Italian ice cream flavors & they even have ice cream without sugar .. Also I noticed lots of cakes and sweets on a different display .. Since I am 1/2 Italian I had to have the Pistachio gelato .. Diego helped me telling me how the ice creams was made and gave me different samples to try . My hubby and I came by for a frozen treat fix. We were so impressed by the intensity and quality of the gelato here! The gelato is up there with the legit gelato we have in Italy! The owner was super welcoming, kind and offered us many samples. It wasn't easy to just pick one so we got double scoops (mango, blackberry and banana were all delicious and I loved the mascarpone and fig sample too)! Open late. Fully staffed on a Friday night. They seemed to have come out of the woodwork as it got busy. The young woman who tended to me had a bright personality. She offered samples and seemed pretty happy working. My crepe was just as expected. It does not come with gelato but you can certainly buy that separately to have with your crepe. The waffle cones are made in-house. They have a bus person taking the plates from the table and another friendly staff member at the register.
