Gelati is a glitzy, upscale ice cream shop selling delectable ice cream with a steep price tag. Arriving on a Tuesday evening, my child companion and I shared two scoops - a cotton candy and cherry. The cotton candy was fully unremarkable (expected for a choice that relies on aesthetics over taste), but the cherry was an absolute stunner. Rich, creamy, yet not too heavy, this was one of the best cherries I've had in my ice cream career. The shop was clean and upscale with a nice grassy backdrop and neon for photo ops, although the multiple drink cases sitting outside their refrigerators in the sitting area ready to be reloaded was somewhat off putting. The associate who helped us was very friendly and allowed us to sample multiple choices before we selected our final two. The price - $10 for two small scoops in a plastic bowl - was very sharp, however. Despite the amazing flavor of the cherry, this small quantity of ice cream doesn't command such a high price tag. Perhaps it is because the gelato(i) is imported? While tariffs are the flavor du jour in Feb 2025, I doubt we can fully attribute this price to current events. He's very knowledgeable about the shop items, and was very friendly, helpful and patient with me as I decided on what to get. I love that the shop stays open late, is clean and in a nice area not too far from home. Gelati just opened in West of Hollywood today. I was getting in my car after I finished with my TraderJoes shopping and noticed this new place just under TJ on Santa Monica Blvd . Since it was a very hot day I decided to stop by and get some ice cream. The place looks amazing and they display so many different Italian ice cream flavors & they even have ice cream without sugar .. Also I noticed lots of cakes and sweets on a different display .. Since I am 1/2 Italian I had to have the Pistachio gelato .. Diego helped me telling me how the ice creams was made and gave me different samples to try . Coming in as a first timer looking for a late night snack it was honestly pretty cool. The workers were super friendly and very patient. They also gave us really good recommendations and the snacks were really good we got the raspberry ice cream with sicilian lemon like the worker david recommended and some mini pancakes. I've been to this location about a year and a half ago and it was okay... I went today with a friend he tried to the Dubai chocolate with pistachios and phyllo dough sprinkles and the strawberries were horrible they were either almost about to be spoiled or there were hard as a rock... He only ate three strawberries and threw it away... I got a rum chocolate and a fig mascarpone gelato... And the fig muscar pony had freezer burn on it and tasted old and the rum chocolate wasn't better... I think it changed ownership or there's a rebrand... Also $30 is over price for subpar ice cream and the server was not very friendly... read more

This was our first time trying this place considering I have driven by so many times and never stopped. The customer service is amazing and the desserts are top notch. We got the signature crepe for free actually because the server wanted us to try it but we had ordered a different one so that was a huge plus. The gelato here is really good, probably the best I have ever had. I tried the taro one which was really good but ended up going w the baklava one. The tastes are spot on. Thank you it was amazing ! Food always amazing. But the newer staff member with the weird bangs bowling cut is extremely rude. Acts like you need to hurry it up, no thank you nothing. I asked for it something non dairy and he basically mad dogged me. This guy keeps staring too and making weird faces. His service is horrible and it makes me not want to come back.
