Though it's not a huge space, there's a good amount of outdoor seating. Unfortunately for me, I found the base of the bowl to be way too saccharine. Could've been the particular base I chose, but it was almost sickly sweet and hard to get through, which was a bummer. So happy I found this build-your-own acai bowl place! Unlimited toppings, affordable prices, and there is a parking lot (LA hallelujah!). I cannot speak more praise for the staff. They were patient enough to answer all my questions (I had no idea what blue majik was) and even gave my friend who spilled the toppings in her bowl extra toppings free of charge. My partner really wanted an acai bowl, but we consistently experienced poor service at Naturewell down the street so we gave Roots & Rye a shot. It was like night and day. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, and patiently took the time to explain to us the different bases and give recommendations. She then said "ugh where did it go" then pointed and said "there it is" he rudely said back, "I don't see anything". They deleted another review on a different app so im going to repost it here because what I experienced was truly unacceptable and people should know about this but I was genuinely shocked by what I witnessed during my visit. The store had visible cockroach activity, which was extremely unsanitary and honestly unacceptable for a place selling food/products to the public. Even more disturbing, I overheard one of the employees casually using the N word multiple times and they're not even Black. It was loud enough for customers to hear and completely unprofessional. Recently revisited this place with some friends to catch up! It's located in a plaza that has a parking lot but it's pretty crowded. If you come at a busy time, you might need to circle around a couple times to find street parking. Service is great; the employees are clear, courteous, and most of all, efficient. It was by far the fastest I have ever received an açaí bowl, and I think it's because of the way they are set up like an assembly line. 3 people are working - one handling bases and granola, the next one handling fruits, and the last one handling various toppings. For the bowls themselves, I love that they have a variety of options. You can get açaí, and more. You can also get multiple, not just one. My friends and I, along with others in line all got half açaí and half pitaya for the base and it was so good! The granola, fruits, and toppings also have a variety and are all very fresh and tasty! My boyfriend and I LOVE açaí bowls, so we decided to try out Roots and Rye and were not disappointed. The shop is a small little store tucked in a plaza, and has a really small parking lot. The workers here were really helpful at suggesting different options for our bowls as well as completing some of our requests. Four types of granola, which you get a generous serving of both at the bottom and top of your bowl--I am obsessed with the Honey Almond flavor. Fruits are pretty standard; strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. The best part is, you can mix and match toppings until your bowl is entirely full.
