Right in the heart of that cute shopping stretch in Atwater village, this is the little Acai shop that could. I imagine if more than 5 ppl entered the shop at the same time it'd be a bit of a wait but otherwise , if you're ok to chill for a bit, you'll love it. The barista asked me if I'd had their lattes before and when I said I hadn't, he gave a brief overview of how the beans were roasted and said I was in for a treat. I'm a picky eater when it comes to Acai bowls, I prefer sweeter bowls rather than sour and this place was definitely really good. Unlimited toppings for no extra charge, decent prices, inside was a bit small but that's not an issue. I love their Acai with peanut butter, but it's chunks of peanut butter inside the Acai and not on top (my bf isn't a fan yet he loves peanut butter), they have all the topping you can imagine from fruits to seeds to spreads. I couldn't resist all their goodies, and ended getting: Acai bowl: this is a couple bucks more than your average acai place, but it's authentic, fresh, and delicious! It's hard to find a place that has a pure pitaya/acai base without added stuff in it, and there's definitely a difference. Both pitaya and acai are good, though I tend to prefer pitaya. Pao de quiejo: they make this to order and it is excellent! Chewy but crisp on the outside and packed full of cheesy flavor yum! This is a must get as a side with your acai bowl. I love the creaminess of the açaí and the contrast of textures with the toppings. I always get the classic bowl and add pineapple and kiwi to it with hemp granola. Hemp granola is less sweet than regular granola and if you want both they can definitely do that. The savory pastries are like empanadas filled with yumminess. I like the shrimp coxinha and the spinach and cheese empadao or empanada. They're frozen and oven reheated but they're worth the wait. I came by here after getting lunch. The guy employee working that day deserves some credit. He was very polite, professional and clean. The way he sets up the Acai cup, cuts the fruit, and puts on the topping is very precise. The quality of the fruit, acai and toppings all seemed fresh and was delicious as well! The only -1 star is due to the wait... There were about 8 ppl in line but one employee working. He was trying to serve each customer 100% that each person took a while so we had to wait some time. I usually go to Brazilian açai places because they always have something called pao de queso. I eat gluten-free and I love cheese bread so this is perfect!
