Dolce in Waikiki... Since I was in Waikiki which is quite rare these days I wanted to explore some local biz just right outside the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center and had a great time exploring around. As the afternoon heat gets intense I just couldn't pass on this tiny kiosk just outside of the shopping center. Gazing in the display case filled with various flavors the color explosion along with matching fruit to intensify the visual aspect was quite intense along with various flavors including a reduced sugar chocolate sorbet and reduced sugar free strawberry sorbet which I was thinking of getting but after much thought it was the "Lilikoi Sorbet" since I do love Lilikoi and gosh I regret that and not trying a sample of it...it was SWEET just a hint of Lilikoi as it was stunning with bits of seeds in it I couldn't get pass the sweetness of it and at $6.50 for a small single flavor I was sad. They do have a priced friendly $4 scoop flavor of the day which was the reduced sugar free strawberry sorbet my first choice...but they do have some fun toppings that got me tempted but a cute spot with friendly service that you shouldn't be afraid to ask for a sample. It's actually a chain and I think most of the flavors are actually available at a lot of different locations, but I did end up getting the mango yogurt and the chocolate covered strawberry. There were a couple nice kids working the in-the-rush-of-traffic kiosk: they were friendly and seemed genuinely delighted at a $5 tip. Surprisingly (but not that big of a deal), there was a hair well integrated into the bottom scoop of my two-scoop - I didn't mention it to my wife, who would have had a heart attack, even though she wasn't eating any of it. Stopped here for their happy hour special! $4 scoop and I got the reduced sugar chocolate in a chocolate dipped cone. It was so good! Very rich chocolate, can't even tell it was reduced sugar - not only that but it's vegan friendly and halal certified. Friendly customer service from solo worker that offered samples. I tried the following samples: Yuzu with Passion Fruit Sorbet was too sweet and similar to sucking on hard candy for my palate. I changed my mind about ordering this flavor. Pumpkin Pie executed a lighter taste with hints of pumpkin. All gelatos tasted much heavier and creamy very similar to ice cream. Salted Caramel Dulce De Leche was the best match in terms of flavor. Ube tasted similar to consuming lavender ice cream. Not what I expected. Cons: Definitely need a larger size cup to fit three scoops. Each scoop is on the larger side. Very disappointed that gelatos immediately dripped like crazy on both sides when it arrived in my hands. I had to eat half of three gelato flavors before it stopped melting over the rim. Kiosk position outside Royal Hawaiian Center on sidewalk next to Building A and sun striking in that direction didn't help. read more

This kiosk location is conveniently located on the strip, in a small kiosk, on Kalakaua, right in front of Tiffany & Co. I always wondered how they get all the gelato out here but I'm assuming they make it off site and transport it here early morning before the kiosk opens. The space is relatively clean and well kept. They provide samples that allow for you to try out the flavors before purchasing. There was 1 guy and 1 girl working at the time that we went and they were very patient with our indecisiveness. As for the flavors itself, they weren't as strong as I had wanted them to be. And the sizes are rather small, so it left me wanting more in the long run, which accounts for the rating that I provided. If the flavors packed a bigger punch and the serving cups were a little bigger, then I would reconsider coming here time and time again for an afternoon treat. To each their own! read more

Great gelato! Love the flavors! Location was only a block from us. It's a little stand up shop fyi. We went after dinner and surprised there was no line. I always see a line during the day in the past. There were soooooo many flavors to choose from. They had- ube, salted macademia & dulce, hazelnut. Pistachio, piña colada (seasonal), wicked brownie, lime, coconut, guava, cookies and cram, strawberry and more! I narrowed it down to the salted macademia and dulce, and hazelnut. They let us sample the flavors but those two I liked the most. The salted macademia wasn't overly sweet but it did have the caramel or leche swirls in there. I did taste a bit if macademia but needed more!! Hazelnut for me is always a classic! Service was quick. Staff were friendly. Reasonable pricing. Will come again. read more

Went to visit Gelatissimo on their grand opening day. I've seen the sign outside Royal Hawaiian Center for a while and really wanted to check it out after seeing the really slick logo. The workers were really cool despite the crazy crowd. The worker that helped me, Dom, was literally so sweet and was so patient with all my questions and gave me the best recommendations. I asked to sample every. single. flavor. and here were my thoughts: Salted Macadamia w/ Dulce de Leche was pretty sweet with a strong caramel taste. It's on the richer side, and the worker said it won the best gelato award in 2022, which I thought was super impressive! I ended up getting this flavor for my cone. NY cheesecake - one of the workers said this was his favorite and I have to agree that I really enjoyed it. It was tart and kinda of tasted like a plain frozen yogurt with a rich cream cheese taste, speckled with crunchy cookie bites and pieces of cheesecake. pistachio - super pistachio-y kinds tasted like haagen dazs cookies & cream - very light. If i had my eyes closed I wouldn't know what flavor I was eating ahaha Lemon - i'm not usually a fan of any lemon-flavored desserts but this one was really refreshing and tasted like a lemonade in sorbet form Ube - actually tasted like ube with some fruity notes, which took me by surprise Chocolate - SO chocolatey and decadent Boysenberry Swirl - tasted like a jam, or like a mellow sour patch kids haha Cookie Dough - had a caramel-y taste with cookie dough pieces tossed into it Wicked Brownie - I think this was one of their deluxe flavors and I can see why - it was SO chcocolatey and straight up tasted like a bakery brownie turned into gelato haha Cotton Candy - I usually hate cotton candy flavor but this one was actually so good! it kind of tasted like white chocolate with sprinkles Lilikoi - tart & sweet and I loved the crunchy lilikoi seeds Strawberry - a light strawberry sorbet, tart & sweet Mango - The worker and I agreed that this one tasted like the Trader Joe's dried mango haha Coconut - super coconutty it's like the dried coconut strips, but not so strong that it tastes like sunscreen, if that makes sense LOL Dragonfruit & Lychee - lychee flavor strong and light like a lychee juice Guava - didn't taste like guava but it's good haha it almost reminded me more of a fig? A new gelato spot opened up in Waikiki! It's part of Royal Hawaiian center and it's located on the street side of the shopping center, outside of Tiffany & Co. They also validate your parking for the Royal Hawaiian center if you spend $10 or more on a single transaction. They have a pretty good selection and you can sample before you buy. I'm usually someone who orders the smallest size, but it was pretty tiny here! I ordered a regular size and it seemed more worth the money. I sampled the guava gelato and it was okay - more sweet than anything. I think it would be better as a sorbet. I did get the strawberry and the mango sorbet. The strawberry was pretty good but nothing too special. The mango was SO good though - it had the legit mango flavor. My friend liked the cinnamon flavor they had today. I would definitely come again if I'm in the area. read more

4.5 Came here after lunch on Friday because we had the coupon book for bogo scoops lol. This place is like a little shack on the sidewalk in front of the royal hawaiin center. We tried a few flavors but we ended up getting pina colada and mango cheesecake. The portions were goood, it came in the medium cup size (pretty small lol) but it was overflowed on top alot which was great. Both flavors were really good too, really refreshing especially in the hot weather. I cant say the mango cheesecake tasted realllly mangoey but it was still good. Overall this is one of the better gelato places imo. It came out to 6$ even with the coupon which is a bit pricey but normal ig, but the gelato was good and alot better compared to other places. read more

Had the vanilla bean and mango sticky rice when i was there last Friday on vacation ! Loved both flavors so much; Tina and Frank both recommended the flavors and I was pleased by going with them. There were these two customers ahead of us and it was nice that the employee was delivering customer connections. Along with that, he was giving them extra scoops. When it was our turn, I said "hello!" but he kept a straight face. Not even a greeting of "hello" or "how can I help you". It's like he expected us to know our order. It's as if, we're the one selling the gelato. I brushed it off and looked around. I ordered the same size cup that the other customers ahead of us got. I noticed that he was basically putting half scoops in our cup when we ordered one scoop. I thought that might be the standard scoop. Come on man? Can't you speak? He just stood there again. My little brother ordered a sugar free chocolate in a cone and he proceeded to put half scoops. HORRIBLE. My mother ordered an ube ice cream. This time, it looked wayyyyy less than half a scoop. When it got to my order, I noticed he wasn't paying attention and guess what? He gave me a wrong flavored ice cream. I said "I'm sorry but I ordered the cookies and cream". What did he say? Nothing. Not even an apology whatsoever. So guess what? He put what looks like two tablespoons of ice cream in my cup. I moved to the side after ordering and observed to see if that's how they put ice cream in a cup. I realized that he would alternate how he put scoops in a cup. Some get less and some get more. I just can't comprehend why he would do that and more ever, why he has such a foul personality. IT WASN'T EVEN BUSY. I work as a barista and can confirm that it's busier making coffee than scooping ice cream into a cup. I'm sorry for being an inconvenience to you when you got my order wrong? I'm sorry for ordering ice cream when it's your job to serve customers? I'm not one to post reviews but this was a terrible customer service. AND very expensive for a small a** cup or ice cream. What we got should be $1 not $5+ It's also interesting how this business doesn't acknowledge their mistakes and the disappointment of customers.
