We have been debating eating here for a couple on months and..... disappointment is a understatement, Super expensive for microwaved style dinner. Chicken breast was somehow dry while simultaneously undercooked, pasta was raw, bread was stale. Calamari was nothing special. Lobster soup appeared to have fake crab inside.

This restaurant is a best kept secret. Great Italian food and deserts are out of this world. A in my book. If you're a fan of bread pudding don't miss the blueberry bread pudding.

This was my favorite lunch I've had in a while! First, a shoutout to Heather -- my amazing server who was attentive and helpful. She provided outstanding service during a busy lunch hour. Next the adorable dining room was busy but not overly loud. I was lucky to be able to choose from one of three tables left. I visited after the dentist (because this is my life now) so started with their amazing, now crave-able, lobster bisque. This bisque was rich and creamy without being heavy. 20/10 and Heather tells me they sell it in quarts! Also, my panini was served on homemade focaccia and had loads of turkey and melted cheese. I visited the dessert cases to ogle, and afterwards was told by my college daughter that I missed out on the cheesecake. Hmmm.... I guess I need to return ... soon! Their tiki deck had loads of fans and misters with some fun drinks I have included and daily drink specials.

Gelato. Need I say more. Actually a full service Italian restaurant, with Tiki bar patio and all kinds of Italian deserts. Large dining room and outdoor patio. Service is quite good. Our server, John, was very attentive. The appetizer plate was large and had a nice variety. We had a special of the day, meat lasagna. The portion was large. Great taste and best of all the pasta was firm which is always an important aspect of quality lasagna. It was a nice surprise in the area that is filled with so many seafood options. Seemed to be popular with regular locals know by the staff.

The dinner for 2 is a bargain! The service was great and we loved the stuffed shell lasagna. Be sure to save room for a chocolate cannoli!

Food, service and ambience was underwhelming. Much better Italian restaurants in the area.

Had the appetizer trio, and the rhuban with fries. The fries were the only thing that was hot. Not worth the $17 for a sandwich.

Great food. Fun atmosphere with a tiki bar out back. Not your average Italian tiki bar...... Will be back and the service was fantastic.

Sweet Victory at Yumm Twister & Ice Cream!…read more After an epic dinner at Pho-Mo (seriously, go there), my sweet tooth started throwing a tantrum. Lucky for me, right next door was Yumm Twister & Ice Cream, just waiting to save the day! I strolled in, had a nice little chat with the server (because ice cream decisions are serious business), and what did I land on? A milkshake. Because honestly--who doesn't crave a creamy milkshake while cruising on a Harley? Yeah, I did it. And yes, I had a drink holder... safety first, friends. My flavor of choice? Salted Caramel Pretzel. Sweet, salty, crunchy--basically a party in a cup. Do yourself a favor and order it; your taste buds will send you a thank-you card. Meanwhile, my better half went for a sophisticated gelato cone (because she's classy like that). Of course, I had a bite... and yup, it was as good as it looked. Smooth, rich, and worthy of its name. So, if you're anywhere near Gulf Shores and your sweet tooth starts whispering, head over to Yumm Twister & Ice Cream. You'll leave happy, sticky-fingered, and maybe a little addicted. And hey, if you stop in, tell them "The Harley Rider--aka 1/2-Time--sent ya." You won't score a discount, and I won't get a kickback--but at least they'll know I kept my promise and shared the scoop. Bottom line: This place is dessert heaven. Don't miss it!

Rolled up here for a dessert after a long day of conference-ing. I'd had this spot bookmarked for…read morea while and I was excited to try it. It's in a small shopping center that has lots of dining/dessert options. I only managed to make it about 45 minutes before close, so parking was easy and it wasn't busy. It smelled nice inside and looked clean. They offer a lot of different gelato desserts; the main draw I think is the twister cone, which is a baked cone that seems to be a donut-like pastry. This looked really good, but I was still too full from dinner to want anything quite that large. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. Two employees were there; one was a friendly young man who was clearly new as the other employee was teaching him how to ring up orders; the other was a surly older woman who seemed annoyed that I'd stopped in. I'm somewhat sympathetic since I did come in a little close to COB, but I don't think ~45 minutes is too unreasonable. I asked if they could make one of their signature cones in a cup instead and they agreed. I got the tiramisu variety, which is tiramisu and coffee gelato with coffee syrup and a ladyfinger. It was made in a reasonable time and I was rung up and headed out to my car to bring it back to eat at my hotel. The price was a little high but the portion was absolutely massive. You could easily split this treat. I certainly was unable to finish it. Overall, I thought it was only okay. The texture of the gelato was lovely, but the flavors were just kind of muted. I thought it should've been a bit sweeter, but not because the coffee was too strong; indeed, the coffee flavor was also just sort of light and unobtrusive. The syrup had an artificial taste that I wasn't crazy about and I was relieved when I'd eaten down past it to just spoonfuls of gelato. Lastly, the ladyfinger was sadly very stale, and even an attempt at ice cream rehydration didn't help it much. If I were to return, I'd definitely try one of the twister cones and would probably opt for a different flavor. Curiosity sated, for now!
