We've been in Foley for 4 years and really haven't tried many of the local restaurants. So my friends and I have decided to try different places on our ladies day out. #LDO. When we walked into Sunflower it was bright, clean and smelled delicious. The menu was posted above the counter, they make poke bowls, crepes and have ice cream and yogurt. They have paper menus for u to make ur selections and give to the cashier. Much easier to do this than try and remember all u want in ur poke bowl. My poke bowl had fresh tuna with sushi rice and mixed vegetables with Yum-Yum sauce. It was excellent. My friends had the Southwest Veggie crepe and loved it. The service was quiet and efficient. The restroom was clean. The light fixtures were doors, hung horizontally with pendant lighting. It was a nice place, with excellent food, for a LDO. This place has really good, quality tea. It is very authentic. I lived in Taiwan for 2 years where I was introduced to Milk Tea with Boba (we called them pearls over there). Don't let the lack of reviews for this place scare you. It's actually a hidden gem and (I think?) newly opened. We made the short drive a bit north of the coast because we were tired after 3 days of eating fried food. Wanted to try something different and not necessarily deep fried shrimp and fries. Enter Sunflower. It's a cute, unassuming restaurant that you could miss if you're not looking for it. Our family of 6 entered and found a spot right away in the back. The menu isn't terribly vast but there are enough options that you could go with a poke bowl or crepe and satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. I got the Salmon poke bowl, my husband got the beef teriyaki, and we ordered our kids the chicken teriyaki to share. While I enjoyed my poke bowl, the hot teriyaki bowls were where it's at! The chicken was fine but maybe a bit on the dry side. I think the winning dish, however, was my husband's beef teriyaki bowl. I think they used a cut of steak because it was tender and very flavorful- kinda wished I would've gotten that. We got some boba to share as a family and I would say that those 3 entrees were more than sufficient for our family. This place is good we have tried others but this one has the closes to Hawaii poke that we found in the area. Next time we plan on trying the crapes well maybe not since we are big Poke fans. The spicy tuna is spicy so if you can't handle a little kick don't order it spicy but if like really spicy then you'll need to add it as this one is spicy for me but mild for the son.
