Where to begin, my wife found it while looking for a place to eat. Before a show we had tickets for Thursday. Good reviews so we decided to try it. Best decision we made in a long time. Service was perfect . The food came out timely. And they insured its what you ordered. My steak was over cooked. No mess no fuss. Corrected on the spot. Manager delivered the replacement. Perfect. Perfect perfect. At the end he comped us desert. Not asked for, not expected. I'm sold This will be a regular dinning experience for us. Great atmosphere, excellent staff. Attentive but not pusshy. Excellent food and service. I was surprised that we were told we could take home any wine left in the bottle. And they do have a large selection of wines. Hubby had a wedge salad with wonderful fresh made blue cheese dressing. He then got the Shrimp and Grits which was delicious. I ordered the scallops. The server said that it comes with three but I could get 4 or 5. That was hard to judge as I didn't know how big the scallops were but opted for the standard three. Good decision as the scallops were large. And they were cooked perfectly! The best part was the crème brûlée cornbread the scallops were served on! Rich and decadent, the bread complimented the scallops. Thankfully the dish also came with a "salad" of peppers and other things in a tart vinaigrette. The food was 5 stars. Everything we got was top notch and was worth the fairly high price. It was truly a culinary experience. I got the BBQed shrimp appetizer and the house dry aged steak and it was all wonderful. The scallops were excellent. The fried green tomato appetizer was to die for as was the crab and crawfish dip. We were full but managed to share a creme brulee because it was also good. The only thing that kept this from a 5 star review was the service. First off, super cool building and the story behind it. Feels like we were stepping back in time. We were a group of 10 and were seated at a large table in the back. We started with appetizers of Jesse's BBQ Shrimp and Fried Green Tomatoes. I had the House Cut Ribeye, Medium Rare topped with Bone Marrow Butter, along with Gouda Grits and Sautéed Green Beans. My wife had the Pan Seared Red Fish. Both were excellent. Several at our table had the Shrimp & Grits topped with a Crab Cake. They said it was wonderful and it definitely looked great. For drinks I started with the Old Fashioned and finished with the Smokey Chocolate Old Fashioned. Both were very good. Wow, we were so happy to see that they are open for lunch. Looks small from outside but nice ambiance and rather large on the inWe started with blue crab and Tasso dip. Well that certainly did not disappoint. My burger was absolutely the best burger I've ever had and the fries were fried in beef tallow. My husband had the French dip with Gouda grits. Outstanding. Candace our server was very attentive and knowledgeable with the menu and made several recommendations. This is a must and only about an hour drive from Pensacola. I went to the Magnolia Springs Jesse's Restaurant with a friend and had the She Crab Lobster Bisque Soup with Rum on top , that was burned off of the top of my Soup with a torch at our table. I also had a small steak with my Surf and Turf Lunch and the steak was medium rare and perfectly cooked. This was at lunch time, so this was not as expensive as the night super menu. We both had left overs, that was packed up for us to take home. The waitress was very attentive and nice, so we gave her the maximum tip. The atmosphere/ambiance was really good and enjoyable all through our meal, so I will give Jesse's Restaurant a 10 out of 10 or Excellent. If you want really good Seafood and very tender Steak ... The porkchops had absolutely no flavor except the chop itself was spoiled. The conecuh gravy was tasted nothing like you would think. Walking in we did not need a reservation but this is the type of establishment you would want one at very quaint outside, very elegant inside. Well let's get to it... the food, the food!! We started with the Lollipop Chicken and what an appetizer, perfect size and so yummy! We had been to Jesse's on the Bay in Gulf Shores for a sunset anniversary meal on the back deck overlooking the bay and discovered that the food was as memorable as the view, so we jumped at the chance to visit the original Jesse's in Magnolia Springs who live nearby and sing its praises. They are not wrong! The atmosphere, an old house with numerous rooms and quaint historical components like the former post office mailboxes along one wall, is cozy and inviting. The service was first class - attentive and responsive, informative, yet unassuming in a way. And the food? Outstanding! We had two different salads - burrata and Baldwin Baby Green - both of which were full of fresh ingredients that were great flavor/texture combinations. For entrees, we had the pan seared redfish entree on brisket and fingerling potatoes with tasty but not overbearing sauce...and the Waygu tenderloin special, which was one of the best steaks I've ever eaten! Ordered it medium rare and every bite basically melted in my mouth! Some unique cut (?) as only 3 oz was a ribeye on one side, the large center area a tough gristly, fatty uneatable area, and the remaining 3 oz opposite edge was tough and chewy like a sirloin. My medium rare was closer to a med well, which was ok, but it was dry. I paid an extra $16 for one (also overcooked) scallop that had a really funky taste. I wouldn't go back. The dessert was really good, though. Key lime pie. The ambience was not what I expected. We had a 2-person reservation made well in advance and they seated a 12-person party with multiple children right next to us. First visit I could barely give it three stars but friends wanted to try it again and second visit much better. First time it took forever to get meals. Like over an hour. We were outside and roof had rain leaking through and dripping on our table. Server forgot to bring a drink and also one of the dinners was missing so while we politely waited for the last plate to be delivered our food was getting cold. They had to make the entire plate over as they said it went missing. So we ate and the last person got started when we nearly finished. Delicious! Traveling here and found Jesse's on Yelp. Did not disappoint. We arrived around 3PM and learned we were in between services. Even with a limited menu, we were more than pleased. In tapas style, we shared Jesse's Style BBQ shrimp, baked brie, and the crab and tasso dip (served with cheddar drop biscuits). DELICIOUS and more than enough food. The key lime pie was just like we like it - tart with a little sweet and a delicous crust. We got an extra slice to take back to our hotel room. We got a couple appetizers, the standout was the calamari for me, it had a nice Asian sweet sauce. I have been going to Jesses for over 14 years. I like the location and the ambiance. Unfortunately after two successive visits I found serious faults in the food. Some of the side dishes like corn spatzle was so over salted that I couldn't eat it. My Atlantic Scallops unfortunately tasted like ammonia, a sign of old fish. The boutique oysters were excellent and the martini but when I spend more than $250 for a dinner for two I expect better. Sorry I'll be eating at Big Fish. read more

I know this is a fantastic place. Geat reputation and ambiance. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there last night and had high expectations. To be honest, it was not a great experience from a food and table service (long waits) perspective, but from an overall customer service perspective , on a scale of 1 - 5, it was a 7. They had a bad night with service due to it being busy and they were behind, unfortunately. Additionally, while my wife's filet was excellent, my Dry aged ribeye was not up to their standards by far. They went above and beyond trying to make it right, from offering to cook a new steak to comping the steak I had. Their Manger, Clayton, took me from a place of not going back to now I will absolutely go back!!! Clayton is a superstar. Came here on a visit for my mom's birthday. Everything was great from the salads to the desserts. They are best known for the steak, and it is truly delicious. Shout out to Dalton who was extremely friendly and made our dinner an exceptional experience. We ordered the divers scallops, brussel sprout and parsnip soup (one of their specials), turnip the beet salad, and filet mignon. The filet was hands down the best entree, but the scallops were also cooked perfectly. Don't forget to try one of their cocktails. We had the rosemary martinis and peanut butter old fashioned. Both were so good, especially, and maybe even surprisingly, the peanut butter old fashion. It was so tasty with a delicious peanut butter finish. Yum! Finally, we received a complementary bread pudding for my mom to celebrate her bday! They also had a chocolate cheesecake which sounded amazing but we were stuffed.
