    Spaghetti Meatball Gelato

great gelato place. Fresh & yummy. The store is tastefully design with very cozy atmosphere. Also great coffee. We tried the Spaghetti gelato this time which is very creative & tasty. The owner even add a meat ball in for us . .

Gelato picks was yummy! The gelato was creamy and smooth, and had a very authentic tasting flavor profile. We got the pistachio and the tiramisu. Both flavors were true to their intentions and I have no complaints about the gelato. On the other hand, my experience with the owner was a bit off putting. He had ended up scolding the little kid in front of me for spinning their flavor wheel, which I understand he can't have it spinning all day for fun, but at the say time, the kid was like 3 years old and there was no one else in the restaurant, let the kid live a little jeez. Also, he was pretty blunt and not smiley with us, so overall, it just made me and my party feel awkward and we left with a bad taste in our mouth. The prices were also pretty steep. Honestly, it's a 5 for taste but 2-3 star for the experience.

Fresh gelato that's consistently delicious, served with a super welcoming and friendly smile every time we drop by for a treat. I've tried several flavors and every one has been balanced and tasty, it's hard to choose a favorite but I find myself ordering the pistachio or salted caramel most often.

Just issuing a response for Dietmar's response. Of course the picture is Sorbetto. My kids ordered your 'gelato' and based my review on that. I don't claim to know the exact recipe between gelato, sorbetto or ice cream. But given my extensive travel to Italy throughout my adult life gives me the palate to tell the difference. This place does the job if you want something sweet and refreshing but still say it is mislabeled.

Perfect flavor, fantastic taste, nice gentleman who makes the gelato. Come and eat!!!!!!

this little gelato shop is tucked away across the street from first colony mall. The store was super clean and cute aesthetic. The service was great, the owner of the store was serving us. Will definitely be coming back to try the different flavors.

Absolutely amazing story behind Dietmar Neidhardt, founder/owner of Gelato Picks in Sugar Land / Houston. (You can see a video from Localish at https://www.facebook.com/localish/videos/retiree-proves-its-never-too-late-to-have-a-new-passion/1046059540367740/ about how he started his business at 74 and is now 77-78). He had a past life he retired from as an extremely successful Oil & Gas Executive and Petroleum Engineer (see pics) who, during the pandemic, attended all levels (beginner-to-advanced) of an online gelato-making class at an university in Bologna and started making gelato to share with his neighbors (when no restaurants were open). They loved his creations so much they kept begging him to open up a store post-COVID, and in 2021 he opened up Gelato Picks. In addition to gelato in scoop form, he specializes in the German-Italian fusion of "Spaghetti Gelato" or lemon-vanilla gelato shaped like spaghetti with a strawberry "tomato sauce" plus white chocolate "parmesan cheese" shavings on top. Crepes, espresso, mousse and other Italian delicacies are served at his shop. I got the spaghetti-flavored gelato - which is amazing - plus the guava and owner's choice (maybe a mix of macadamia nuts and chocolate). Nice stylish interior decor with an Instagrammable merry-go-round pig statue (he has an awesome story behind it). His store is an absolute must-visit if you are in Houston / Sugar Land!

Lemon sorbet is so refreshingly great with dark chocolate, pistachios, and Tex-Mex gelato!

Despite the long line, our drinks came out pretty quickly, and the cashier was very friendly. We ended up sitting outside, which was really nice on a sunny day. I got the moshi moshi latte, and it had a strong banana bread flavor that was smooth and not overpowering. My fiancé got a pour-over with a splash of milk. He said it tasted a little watered down, but overall still smooth and not burnt.

There are so many chairs and tables, it feels like you're in a massive well decorated living room. Ample space to spread out and work or study or read scripture. Speaking of reading scripture - if God made coffee on Day 6 it was because the two new humans made him exhausted. That's why he needed rest on Day 7 teeheehee. I had a matcha latte. My friend got a Texas latte & sausage breakfast sandwich. My friend said the latte was energizing & the sandwich was perfectly filling. My matcha latte was little too sweet and creamy for me so I'll probably just need to make little adjustments for my preference next time like almond milk and less syrup. The kolache was a very good serving size and only wish I had a stronger jalapeño taste. We definitely need to come back for another visit soon!

I haven't redeemed any rewards in several months because I've been overseas, so I wasn't sure whether I simply scanned the code or if there was another step involved. Instead of explaining the process, he repeatedly pointed at the screen and said, it's right here. When I asked for clarification, he continued to respond the same way without actually explaining what I needed to do. His tone and mannerisms made me feel as though I was being treated like an inconvenience for asking a simple question. Not every customer is familiar with the app, and some may be using rewards for the first time. A little patience and clearer communication would have gone a long way. The experience was made more frustrating by the long wait beforehand. There were only two cashiers working and the customer ahead of me spent several minutes at the register asking questions. Another cashier was also helping a customer who needed additional assistance. While I understand that questions happen and employees do their best, waiting a considerable amount of time only to receive dismissive customer service was disappointing. Good customer service isn't just about completing a transaction--it's about helping customers understand the process and making them feel welcome. Unfortunately, that was not my experience during this visit.
