The parking and getting there is a bit bizarre since there's an underpass bridge that the mall…read moreitself goes over I think? It reminds me of a smaller Del Amo Fashion Mall if anything. Parking and driving around looked quite busy in the front where you can see that tiny Trader Joe's that's overshadowed by the giga Whole Foods and what I think are protestors against Uniqlo, I think. Never seen protestors for that brand in particular, but it is what it is. There's LOTS of college students (near SFSU apparently) and Zoomers since it was, I suppose it's after school on a Tuesday. Parking the back was no issue. Also a decent selection of shops that I would go to normally, like Daiso or Miniso, as well as a Round 1. Neat that they have a Quickly's that looks like it's untouched by time (portraits of cute Ulzzang style workers enjoying the drinks and food there), there's charging tables, and a good amount of eateries and options to get boba and snacks. Completely incomprehensible unless you're specifically from the 626, but this mall reminds me of a mix between the Santa Anita mall and the West Covina mall (during it's prime). Pretty bustling and lots of businesses that actually interest me. I think my only qualm is that everything is at a smaller scale and smaller store, like their Pop Mart and Miniso are markedly smaller with a smaller stock, so keep that in mind.

I visited Hillsdale Mall for the first time in decades!…read more I wanted to drop by and survey the parking near Palette Tea Garden. I decided it was best to park on the roof and take the escalator down to ground level.....right to the restaurant! While I was there, I walked around to see what the indoor mall was like. It's a nice shopping mall with a variety of shops, restaurants, and services. The North Mall has a huge "Dining Terrace" which includes an outdoor patio with fire pits. I like the hand washing area. I heard stories that the owners of the mall want to tear down the enclosed mall and build a mixed use open air mall. The plan is yet to be approved. I like Hillsdale Mall the way it is.

I really love the new look of the recent expansion; the modern touch gives the space a much-needed upgrade. However, it is a bit sad to see so many stores closing. While the new section is beautiful, the original building hasn't changed much and feels like it's lacking the same level of improvement. Despite that, I still enjoy walking the floors and window shopping. The food court is decent--not a ton of variety, but the seating is comfortable--and the other restaurants and movie theater are great features. I have my favorite go-to stores, but I really hope they attract more tenants soon to bring back that busy, vibrant energy!

At this mall there are construction workers on the grocery corner of Lucky and Starbucks who are sadly enough ,LOITERING. It is unappreciated for the public to see loud men or even soft gentle words from adult males in orange vests as you enter a store. It is unwanted by many and not appropriate. It feels imposing. Stop this idea here that hanging out and watching over/ gawking at women is fine to do. Honestly folks, it doesn't look appealing and it also causes young kids to wonder why adults act this way. PLEASE stop the loitering in this area of business. The women who run the Starbucks store have to put up with this constantly as if it's part of a social hour to have their customers standing around just talking and holding the door open as if its a nightclub. It's just not funny. Kids need to walk through there and it puts a certain impression on children as to how working class adults behave in the day time hours & it's not even close to being funny or cute. Not acceptable. Stop loitering.
