I was at the store today around 5 January 19,2016.and was checking on what to buy. I saw 1 plastic green gloves outside the plastic bag ( some one must have opened it already ) so I picked it up and there was an old man who came towards me and accused me why I opened it. I told him I did not open anything , it was already outside of the bag. I told him to check their camera to prove it. He started talking in Spanish with his other co worker. Even tho the store name is now 'Everything $1.50 or less', of course not EVERY THING is $1.50 or less. They sell fruits and vegetables, they go by pound or $ amount for how many. Many different items inside from candles to napkins, make up to picture frames, snacks to drinks, utensils to small gifts. Before coming in here today, I drove around SF & Daly City looking to buy helium for balloons. My cousin couldn't find any for her daughters birthday which was in an hour!! Walmart was sold out. Target was closed. I had called Home Depot, it was said they have them in stock, went there and none to be found. Started googling, and this store popped up. I called and asked if they have HELIUM TANKS FOR SALE TO BLOW UP BALLONS, the girl who answered the phone said yes they sell helium tanks, a tank for $8, bigger tanks are more. So of course I drove there. Went in and said told them I just called, can I see the tanks, and the girl (in a hijab) showed me a helium tank. THEIR helium tank that they use to blow up their balloons for sale. I said thanks and left. Did a lot of texting with my cousins and she was at Lucky's down the street. She waited FOREVER, so she asked me to bring the balloons back here and get them blown up. Each ballon was $3, we had 26, total $85 (+tax) They also have balloons for sale, they have a huge variety of balloons taped top of the wall for you to choose from, and guess what? They're $3/ea! Not $1.50 or less. I'm grateful they were open, esp on this holiday where stores were closed. Both girls were really nice and patient. I felt kind of bad because their line was getting long, and I was holding up the line because I was getting many balloons blown up. read more

Walked in to get balloons blown up the older woman has the worst attitude ever . She didn't speak nor greet us. She kept walking away from the register instead of helping us. Her attitude was horrible. She looked latino with highlights and about 68 with her nose turn up. The woman with the hijab was nice and sweet. I went to this store 11-11-22 around 6 pm and like other people, I had issues with the security guy. He grabbed my backpack all of a sudden without informing me as I was entering the store. I thought he was a robber and frightened me. Then he was watching and following me while I was shopping. He was acting like a creep. It was here that I got a Santa hat with a beard and a Santa hat with braids. Yep, you don't have to splurge for items for Christmas events and can "misplaced" items and not sweat over them. Actually, every item for sale at this store costs only one dollar (wanted everyone to know that in case the store's name was unclear). Well, they do charge tax so it's not exactly one dollar out the door. Still, the household, toys, bath and kitchen items are all new so it's all good. This place reminds me of those old Five-and-Dimes(sp?) stores so prevalent back in the '80s. At the corner of John Daly and Mission Blvds in DC, and even though there are metered parking right outside, those are almost always taken. Great staff, lots and lots of cool stuff for a buck. Got 17 items spent about $18. I am waiting for someone to come up with the 1.08 store...LOL I got 10 frames for welcome bags I am using for a baby shower (plan on taking a pic of the mommy to be's belly with a ribbon around it and print them out and add those in the cheap but very nice frames I got for a buck each). They also had a bunch of books, candles, just a lot of really nice stuff that you could find for 5-10times that anywhere else. Go check em out! read more

There are cockroaches everywhere!! It is disgusting, I moved an avocado and the cockroaches came all crawling out of the box then I went to look at the grapes and more cockroaches. Also the guy where the fruits and vegetables are is very rude. Does not let you pick the fruit you want and starts yelling at you. read more

They have party supplies, kitchen supplies, cleaning, sewing, hardware, groceries, closeouts, and more. Very well organized and tidy. Just stopped by Daly City with my niece and daughter they wanted to check it out . The store is actually called "everything 1.50" but everything in that store looks like it's from the 99cent store . Their 10 cent bag cost $0.25 . The cashiers are rude they would rather talk about their work schedule rather then help the customers in line. We went in to take a look at what they were selling since we had nothing to do so we were just killing time. Some stuff was ok but a lot of junk. The vegetables and fruits they are selling are awful. No, you're not in a strip club shopping store. LOL. At first, glance, I thought I was about to go on a bumper car (don't ask why it remained me of that) but it's for ppl not to steal the car, which is smart as hell. So you can't bring the carts outside the store to your car that if you can even find parking to get in the store. You more likely better off walking here, than driving... as it's in the corner of the top of the hill. Parking is like finding Where Waldo at a 4th of July event. You most likely not going to find it. There isn't much space anyways. In the front, there is everychanging large bins of stuff: such as clothes, hats, water, and Spanish DVD (Warning: movies are so horrible to watch, they make Ed Wood look like a genuis). I'm so poor, I watch television on a Etch-A-Sketch anyways but some things in the bins stay the same, depends on what time of the year, you go there. The 1st right aisle of the store is mostly kitchen materials: you can find plastic or non plastic plates, forks, spoons, bottles, cups, grilling items, cleaners for kitchen, etc etc. (I guess this is where the Mexican Paula Deen favorite area in the store). Back of that, are what i love- toilet paper, for 1 dollar-- you can get two rolls for yourself. Hey, if you want to be a cheap on Halloween, you can come as the Mummy--- just make sure, you don't see any yellow or brown marks before wrapping yourself. haha. Just make sure you have common cents when doing that- or 2 quarters as that's how much they cost there for the time being. Then the next aisle (2nd to the right) is school supplies, pencils, pen, notebooks, and I believe also candles. Write under candle light, maybe? Then you got on the 3rd aisle- food items, bottle sodas, chips, rice, beans, cans goods, etc. etc. ( I love rice so much, I would get married just for ppl to toss rice at me). fourth aisle is mostly bath, laundry, soaps, brushes, hair dye, etc. etc. Mr. Clean's favorite aisle. last aisle (the far left from entrance) is toys, outside gear, cords, tools, etc. etc. (bob the builder's favorite aisle). BTW- the back has flowers, and cards. The front end--- (techinally the front counter) are bi (not sexually, lol, I meant they speak Spanish as well as English). The front counter has the earplugs, lighters, rings, and others stuff. Sadly they don't take EBT here. I know you so cheap, you can't put your two cents in this conversation, but if you did: you probably going to say the same thing as me: wow--- this place is amazing. that's what i got from this place. The Christian Bookstore-turned-Dollar store is one of the hottest spot for bargain shoppers. Located at the corner of JOhn Daly Blvd and Mission St, it's very accessible to SamTrans bus lines 120, 121, 130, 390 and 391. For those who drive, there's plenty of street parking on Mission, Hillside and Knowles Ave. They carry almost every single thing that you need or never thought that you needed before. From party needs (I always get my party hats, streamers, candles and other party stuff there), to fabric softener, pet toys, kitchen/bathroom cleansers, office supplies, to home decor and they even had 'betta' on sale at one point. It's not dollar *PLUS*. It's just a dollar. Period. Yeah, you might see useless stuff once in a while, like dolls whose legs and torso are not matching. Or plastic food containers that wont close and maybe packaging tape that barely sticks to its own roll. But, eeh, these are staples of a dollar store. As long as the ratio of the awesome products is higher than the crappy ones, i'm sooo ok with it. I give it four stars! read more

"Excuse me....how much is this?" EVERYTHING in the store is ONE DOLLAR! If it's priced under $1...it will be charged $1. If it's priced over $1...it's still one dollar. If the item is not marked with a price...it's $1. I wouldn't buy a lot of the stuff in here...but there are some things you need to jump on! -Since it's the holiday season, this is a great place to purchase wrapping paper and gift bags...for $1. Does it really matter what you wrap a gift with...it's what's inside that counts! -If you are having a party...you can buy paper plates, plastic utensils, napkins, table cloth, and etc...for $1. -Miss your period? Scared you might be pregnant? No need to fear...$1 pregnancy test. -I would probably ignore my last comment if I were you...don't buy a $1 pregnancy test. You might end up on that show "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant" You can probably find some useful things here for $1...but I wouldn't touch the food. Stuff is most likely old and expired. Sad, this had been the last "dollar store" where everything was a dollar. Now the only place left is Dollar Tree which is a franchise. I always liked going here to find different things not found at Dollar Tree. It had also been a plus when they started to sell produce but recently their produce where too old and borderline spoiled. So bad that at even a dollar, it was not worth buying and taking a chance it was still edible. This place is a hidden gem of the Daly City/SF border, but it's starting to attract more clientele and rightfully so. I've been coming here for a year and they have really improved the merchandise. The ceramic plates, bowls and cups in the aisle facing the wall are a MUST SEE. If you need plates for your table that look expensive, stock up on that aisle. The designs rival anything from Target or Kohl's, and you'll get a kick out of telling your mom that the expensive-looking plates she's drooling over came not from (insert overpriced store), but from "One Dollar Only". This Dollar store is okay as is most of these types of outlets. For simple inedible nonperishable items it is not bad. For example, I needed a shower curtain. For one dollar I got not only the curtain but a set of rings to match. I also found a all wood walking stick. Yep, for one dollar. Two rules I follow is if you don't know the brand, or are uncertain then don't buy it. And, avoid food service or food items. Some of the dishware and utensils looks pretty but I would avoid them because they might have lead and other hidden toxins. Also, some of the plastics, especially small toys I would avoid, for that same reason. If it gives off an intense plastic aroma, then chances are it has toxins. There is a lot of stuff in these stores so take your time to look around, read labels and check over before you buy. Credit cards are accepted but prefer cash for any spending under $10.00, it is a dollar store, everything is 1 dollar. read more

Then I ended up getting some soda, candy, gum, and other little pieces of junk and I ended up spending $10. (which is probably what I would have spent for just the binders at Office Depot...) They have all sorts of odds and ends; even some decent cooking essentials. If you need basic office supplies this is the place for pens and notepads. So I just moved into the area and I needed a whole bunch of kitchen utensils and other house knick knacks so I went on Yelp to see where's the nearest dollar store by my place because I really don't want to be spending a whole lot of money. I found the One Dollar Only store, read its reviews, and it's just a few blocks up my street! So I went (I actually just got back) and I was amazed on how big this store is! It had everything from scarves, shirts, a whole selection of plates and cups, kitchen utensils, food, party supplies, nuts and bolts, and other useless stuff. I bought a whole bunch of kitchen utensils like tongs, spatula, ladle, etc. and I got trash cans, a broom, zip lock bags, baking pans, and other little things for only $17. I had 15 items but I guess they put some sort of tax and it ended up to be $17, which is not bad considering how much crap I got. I would definitely recommend this place if you are planning a big party and you need those huge aluminum pans to put food in and you don't want to spend $5 at Safeway or Lucky's. I've beening driving by this place all the time and noticed all those huge, gift bags displayed at the exterior windows. I was just curious, were they really sold at one dollar? And one day, I decided to walk in and find it out by myself. Firstly, the store is spacious with high ceiling; secondly, it carries lots of stuffs from scented candles to kitchen utensils, to bathroom accessories, and so much more; lastly, those huge gift bags are really sold at one dollar which I still can figure how they get profit out of one buck. Bottom line here, the stuffs are really cheap; they carry lots of party stuffs and definitely worth a trip before heading to Pa*y C*ty LOL. However, keep in mind that they don't have its own parking lot and only limited meter parking(5-6 in the store front) available. read more

EVERYTHING is really a dollar and not like other places (it's not suddenly $1.50 or $3.00). The people that work here are all very helpful and nice. I come here on a normal basis to get baby wipes for my dog ;) I'd buy probably like 5 packs every time. I really recommend their "reach&grab" stick too. It's really useful to grab garbage or things that fall into cracks or crannies under the bed below the table sides corners and such. :) It's also good for grabbing insects or dirty garbage on the floor if you don't want to handle them yourself. I've purchased yarns here before to make sweaters for my dog (pick the quality-some are rough). Oh & I also bought hand sanitizer here before (bottle with a pump) - it's perfect - I guess they use to sell at pier imports for $5.00 each but here is just a buck!! I also love to go here to get composition books when needed for school since it's almost 5x the price at Walgreens!!! Folders/binders/notebooks are also a great buy here. I went to the dollar store to get balloons. They didn't have helium but told me that I could ask another store if it's available there. I called one dollar only and they said that I can get helium there. I drove there at 8:40 and once I came in front of the door, a tall slender man who works there told me theyre closed and shut the door in my face. Seriously? So I tried the next morning. I brought my 17 smal balloons and asked the price of each one. The Hispanic female told me it's $1.50 to fill each balloon. A balloon that I BOUGHT IS $1.50.... AND EACH BALLOON THERE IS $1. What a rip off!!!!! So I left. How can you say yesterday on the phone that it'll be $0.50 for each balloon then tell me the next day it's $1.50? Horrible service. Big place they have the foil trays to hold your bbq meats that u finish grilling for a dollar. I think they mylar balloons for a dollar that pretty cheap if you wnt to impress someone at the birthday party. Thy sell beanies for a dollar. I see a guy buy a whole bunch probably to resale it. They have alot of three prolong plugs some with three outlets and a night light and gloves for yard work or demolition but the best is they have Porcelain plates and utensil for cooking. Will never shop here again!! I'm needed one thing before my long trip out of the country tomorrow. I needed one set of AA batteries. I pulled up to the store at 8:58 PM. The door was already locked! When she let the last patron out of the store at 9:03pm i I asked her politely if I could purchase 1 thing since I arrived before 9. She denied me entry, and was incredibly rude. "no you can't come in here, we are already closed. " I let her know right then and there that actually arrived before closing..she shut the door in my face. I am a happy customer of 15 years. Used to live in the neighborhood, and this was always my go-to store for cheap necessities and whatever else I'd fancy for a buck. Moved away 5 years ago, but I keep coming back here every couple of weeks or months, whenever I pass through on Hwy 280. It's been my favorite dollar store all this time because, unlike Dollar Tree which is in my new neighborhood, I always find something new and exciting when I come here. It's a fun treasure hunt to see what surprises they have in stock. As I write this, I realize just how many unique, decorative touches I have in my home and wardrobe that are from this store. And they're unique because once they're gone, they're gone. This is in addition to their useful, everyday staples, of course. Well, tonight was one such stop on my way home on Hwy 280, and I was really pleased with the experience of this particular visit, so I thought I'd write a long-overdue review and a shout out to my favorite dollar store.
