GEM did a great job cleaning our windows last year. We added the power washing service this year and are extremely disappointed. There are streaks all over the siding. When we contacted them, they immediately said it wasn't their equipment. No one else came today, so I don't know who they think it could be. Anyway, they lost a customer today. read more

We have GEM clean all of our windows inside and out every year. They are fast, efficient and professional.

I hired them based on the good reviews on the website for powerwashing, spot cleaning of the roof and windows inside, out and screens. The power wash of the outside was good however for the roof spot cleaning there was a disconnect. I was told that a chemical will be used to spot clean however the person refused that and later agree to use a brush to clean the spot. I was charged 250 for spot cleaning only. For window cleaning I was given a time between 12 and 4 for the team to show up. Called the office that day and they told me will be they will come at 2.00. Team showed up at 3.30 and was told that ours was the last job. I was little hesitant that last job means it is going to be a rush job and that is what happened. They basically just cleaned the windows over looking anything that was on the window sill. There was some kind of nest in the grooves where the screens go back and they did not even think of removing that but were putting the screens back. When I told the person and he is like we dont do that. There was debris on the bed due to cleaning as they did not pay any attention. Screens was washed using a power washer and when they put it back the screens in fact had debris stuck. Screen now are damage with holes at several places and some of the color was faded. They infact decided not to do one of the window in the garage because there was plastic shelf next to it. When I asked he said we did not do it. I moved it and asked them to do it. After they left I called the owner to talk to him and after that got a call from the manager and he told me that will come back and fix it with a new team and he will personally be there. A few days later was schedule for them to come in the afternoon got a text message at 7.30 in the morning we are on our way. I got confused but thought let me get it done. We have a dog so my husband took her for a walk and I started opening the windows that I wanted them to fix. Guess what the same person shows up and I asked him where is your boss and he told me that he is not here. I was not comfortable to have the same team come back also told him that my screen are damaged and he insisted that was not because of the cleaning. I again got a call from the manager and asking what happened. I explained everything and told them I really do not want to do anything anymore. I will now need to replace those screens which has been damaged. I am told they will send me the money back for the screen cleaning however not sure if that money is going be sufficient to replace the damaged screens. To recap poor management, use of inexperienced people and overbooking of jobs. read more

The crew that did our windows did an excellent job. They were competent and pleasant. I received an estimate of $338 but was told the final bill would be adjusted once the crew completed their work. I was also given a 10 percent discount by booking before a certain date. Upon completion of the job one of the workers told my husband and I that we would be charged $250, which was the minimal charge as I overestimated the number of windows. he was unable to give me an invoice. The following day I received the bill which was for $300. When I called the office I was told the worker had no business telling me the Charge was $250. I was told the $250 was for people who lived in the Burlington County area. Because the crew was 40 minutes late, which resulted in me missing an appointment I was told a check for $25 would be sent to me. I checked the website upon completion of the call and found the address of the company was Nassau St., Princeton, NJ, and that my town was listed in the service area. There was no indication that there was a travel charge of $50, nor did my estimate reflect a $50 travel fee. When I called back the woman who answered the phone repeatedly interrupted me and seemed angry her worker told me the amount would be $250. My point, which she did not seem to understand, was that from their website advertisement my home was within their service area, and my estimate did not detail part of their charge was a travel fee. I feel this was totally misleading. I have never dealt with a company that charged a travel fee without identifying it as such. The point for me was not the $50 but the fact that is was not disclosed at the outset, that a company would even think to charge that fee, and the inability of the woman answering the phone to listen to my concern. I would like to add I have never given a company an unfavorable review but I was truly troubled by this hidden charge. In closing, at the very least I would have expected that the owner would have contacted me as I seems his office staff should have relayed my concerns. read more

After making an appointment and clearing our schedules they called at the appointed time and said we were "too far" even though we're in the middle of one of the counties they supposedly serve. I call BS. They probably decided our job was just too small. Shady... I suggest staying away. My parents one town over will no longer be using their services either. In response to the comment posted by the business owner, I don't see what the point of it is. Whether or not it was "typical" and whether or not you're offering me a pointless apology 9 months later, it's what happened to me. The end. My parents are in the same county as me, one town over. I stand behind my initial review (first paragraph) and advise others to seek out a more professionally conducted business. I also doubt you are new to this platform as two obviously fake reviews were posted for this business three years ago. Very shady. read more

Disappointing. We hired GEM Home Maintenance this week for power washing of the exterior of our home, gutters, front porch and back deck, and full window cleaning. I originally scheduled all of the power washing for Tuesday and locked the dog up all day so they could come. We got a call at 5pm that they were overbooked and would not be coming. They then acted as if they were doing me a HUGE favor by fitting me in for the following morning so that the power washing could be completed prior to our window washing appointment on Thursday. The actual power washing service was good, and AJ, the man who came to do the power washing, was prompt on Wednesday morning and worked very efficiently. My only gripe there is that the gate was left open so the dog got out later in the day - I would advise them to be more careful of that in the future. Three men came today to do the window washing, were friendly and efficient, but several windows are still extremely dirty. I asked them to re-do the kitchen window over the sink as this is one that is looked at constantly, and even after a second time of "cleaning," I still went through 5 Lysol wipes and several paper towels with Windex to get what was left over. All in all, everything is better than it was but not AT ALL worth $1,500 or the exasperation of dealing with this company. read more
