I had a very disappointing experience with this business. I initially brought in two rings, one for…read morereshaping and another for a diamond replacement and repair. The ring that was repaired was significantly over-polished, and I was given a replacement diamond that did not match the quality or grade of the existing diamonds in the ring, which was visibly noticeable. I returned to the store, where I was told the diamond grade and gold weight had not been recorded, though they acknowledged the over-polishing issue and diamond grade issue. I was then informed that a casting would be ordered so my original diamonds could be reset due to the over-polishing. However, when I returned, I was told the casting could not accommodate my diamonds because they were different sizes--meaning the stone measurements were not taken before the casting was ordered. At that point, I was told a fully custom ring would need to be made to fit my diamonds, which made me very hesitant. Eventually, the custom ring was completed, but I was not satisfied with the result. The color of the gold appeared different, and I was never informed that the original ring's weight had not been documented. I later called to confirm whether the ring was solid gold and was told it was. However, only a few months after receiving the new ring, it has significantly bent. My previous ring lasted 6-7 years without any structural issues, so this level of bending so quickly is very concerning. Overall, what started as a repair issue turned into an ongoing problem with communication, quality, and craftsmanship. I am very disappointed with the final result and the overall experience.

My knowledge and involvement with Herricks Jewelers has been going on for quite some time and I'm happy to say it's been filled with positive experiences. I'll say that intimate touch takes things very far because I felt comfortable in wanting to purchase my (now) fiancée's ring here. As important as the staff is, price will almost always be a bigger factor when it comes to jewelry. At Herricks Jewelers I really feel/felt like I was getting my money's worth and at a respectable price. This was accurate after her ring was appraised for a nice chunk more than what I paid. Herricks was also great at taking care of any little snafus we had with the ring (diamond placement, size, ring color). This did take some emailing and back and forth, but none of these needs were charged as they really wanted to get the ring right for us. Overall, Herricks Jewelers has been around for a long time and I hope it stays that way. With a friendly and trustworthy staff, formidable prices, and a decent selection of jewelry, it's tough to turn down a trip here.
