Dan the manager is the man! That's what Hubby always calls him. He takes care of everything for us every time we come here to purchase electronics and furniture. We had Jeff, the Sales Counselor. Dave, the sales associate, and many more who helped us with our purchases. Dan has a fantastic team. Over the years, we have bought a computer, and furniture, and our newest purchase is the magnificent massage chair because Hubby and I are getting old and we need some massages by the machine lol. We tried to get the massage chair years ago, but it was too expensive when it first came out, so we waited. It was worth the wait, and Dan gave us the best price. We loved everything we purchased from here. We purchased what we needed and not what we wanted. The chair was a nice treat for our hard work. I have bought all my appliances from the Greenvale store, this is about the warranty from PC ,I have bought all new appliances when I did my kitchen, and my fridge started acting up this year its under warranty, called PC for repair, Milk warm , parm cheese going bad since June 26, they send repair guys 3 times and they say it ok but it is, still warm and a 4th guy is supposed to call me for a appointment, also there has been 2x that a company was going to call and never called, next time I will buy a warranty from a outside company, its August and still not acceptable. read more

Be prepared for upcharging on installation.. I paid $219 for dishwasher installation. I asked if the price could be lowered because the old machine was already removed. They said no. I also paid $33 for the install kit. When the installers came they said we had to have an outlet for the machine we purchased, even though the salesman was extremely clear that the dishwasher could be hard wired, like the old one that was removed. They wanted $50 more to put in an outlet. I called the store manager who offered a trivial amount. I told him I was dissatisfied and would likely get my next appliance elsewhere. He wouldn't budge. Recently purchased all of my brand spanking new kitchen appliances here and I'm so happy I did! Mike T. was great to work with! No crazy sales pitches to buy things above my pay grade just honest opinions about the products and brands I was looking for. The microwave I originally purchased ended up being a defect and they sent someone to inspect it and promptly gave me the OK to either get the same kind or choose a different model. Took me over a month to decide but I went with a different model and love it! Installation was done perfectly and we actually ended up having an issue with the water pipe connected to the fridge for the dinner water and ice system, and they were able to remedy that during installation with an extra charge that I was glad to pay! read more

We bought a mattress and boxspring. Sales person was helpful and cordial. Delivery service was AWFUL! driver was rude and initially refused to take the old mattress even though we paid an additional $50 for the service. They wanted to leave the new mattress standing on edge in the room. Wouldn't even put it on the frame. I had to show him my invoice to prove that I paid for removal of the old mattress. On the way out they dragged the boxspring across bare wood floors. I was lucky they didn't scratch the floors. TERRIBLE DELIVERY SERVICE!!! read more

Terrible salespeople, managers, delivery and service. They lie about what your'e buying and what you actually receive. They tell you delivery is set and change the delivery. They lie about new delivery dates. They arrive for delivery and cannot do the install. Delivery people cannot communicate in English. Delivery people ignore customer and use google translate to communicate. They say you'll be reimbursed for the wrong items, the wrong delivery and for inconvenience, promising a dollar amount to credit you and they don't follow through. They have come to my house 23 times to try and fix my fridge and my stove. The repairman and I are on a first name basis. He comes to my home and announces that he cannot fix my brand new appliances and to take it up with pc Richard's. Pc Richard's tells me to take it up with the repair company. These are brand new appliances?????? After 7 hours on the phone today I am done. Been doing this for months now. Pc Richard's you beat me out of thousands of dollars. You give a really bad name to "family run" companies. My family will spend more thousands of dollars for a working fridge and stove elsewhere. You won. Keep our money. Unfortunately Disappointed. Delivery person should not be installing appliances. Ours connected power cord incorrectly and could have seriously damaged the new LG Front Load Dryer. The delivery person was more concerned about getting to the next delivery than doing a proper installation. Why would you connect the center neutral wire (white) to one of the two outside hot wires (black and red) !?! And then not replace the grommet holding the power cable into the unit frame?When unit was powered on, the motor made a horrible noise (reversed) and unit shut off presenting "PF" for power failure on the control display. The untrained delivery person did not realize what he did was incorrect and scurried out stating he would get us a new unit and call service department for repair on a brand new unit! Past experiences have been good with P.C. Richards, however, our last experience purchasing a washer and dryer has us no longer planning to return. Everything was fine up until sitting down to purchase when the salesman tried to tack add-ons and warranties we already clearly declined. Then once all was said and done, we were rushing to leave to pick up our kid from school and he aggressively pushed us to scan QR Code to leave a positive review and dictated what to write while putting his hand on my wife's phone to make sure she was doing what he was telling her to. He said management is more worried about positive reviews online than his sales volume. To say the least we were very put off by this pushy behavior and will not be coming back. When prices are set by the manufacturer and the customer can get the same product for the same price anywhere else, the only thing setting you apart is customer service and things like delivery & installation fees. If this aggressive tactic is being implemented from the top down to increase positive online reviews, it will have the exact opposite effect. read more

I have been a loyal customer of P.C. Richard for decades. My most recent experience is the reason why I keep returning. Five years ago I bought a washing machine and purchased the 5 year service plan. As with all of my machines, whenever I need service, PC Richard makes the process simple and timely. In this instance, the customer service representative went out of her way to check with her manager to see if the machine qualified for a credit. She called me back within a few minutes with the good news and walked me through the next steps. At the store, Tony M. was extremely helpful and efficient. Even though he was busy with another customer, he made a point to come over to me to assure me that he would be with me shortly. He did not disappoint. Tony was incredibly knowledgable about all of the machines and made sure that I knew what all of my options were. Salesman: "You're stupid if you don't buy the extended warranty. These parts from China are low quality". Uh, okay. So why are you selling this inferior crap to customers if they're crap? Because you make more money from the extended warranties? Think about the ridiculousness about your salesmen pushing the extended warranty. You're basically telling the customer you have no faith in the longevity of the products you're selling. So therefore the customer should lay down $1,000 or more on a product your own salesmen don't believe will last past the manufacturer warranty. Do your suppliers know you are telling your customers to not believe in the quality of Samsung, LG, and your other manufacturers? Good job for not having faith in what you sell. read more

Appliance & Electronics. Well there is something to be said for being in business for 99 years - although I'm not sure if that qualifies your business as good, bad or crazy... P.C. Richards sells appliance and electronics - mostly at decent prices but like any place else, you have to know what the costs are and shop intelligently. This location is close to home and in general I have gotten some decent deals here - but you have to negotiate. Always keep in mind that the sales people are working on commission! The problem with buying at p c Richard vs Best Buy is that at Best Buy if you have them install your tv you get a 2 year warranty on the installed product no charge! With p c Richards you only get 1 year unless you buy an expensive extended warranty- I told pc about this and the salesman at pc blew me off- too bad for them- also if you go to Best Buy for $200 they will install, take away, any number of tv, computers for the Year! Pc has nothing like that. read more

I visited this store location recently to purchase a new microwave oven and while I was there I noticed that they now sell mattresses. I was impressed by how clean the store was and how many people approached me to help. As many people can attest to, it's very hard and difficult to find people to help in many stores nowadays. It's almost like a grown up game of hide and seek. I had always been a Sleepys customer and I had been in the market for a new store and a new mattress. I went to Macy's, Raymour & Flanagans and finally Bobs. My wife and I had decided to visit all of these locations. We wanted to feel like our business was wanted and appreciated and that our questions could be thoughtfully answered. We wanted to "sleep" on our decision for a week and then decide where to make our new purchase. Luckily, we went into the store and while venturing over towards the mattresses there we were helped by Mike T. Mike possessed a ton of knowledge and showed us a Stearns & Foster mattress that really fit our needs. My wife and I both have bad backs and had recently been having trouble sleeping. Our quality of life had plummeted and we were desperate for a remedy. Mike was patient with us and really went out of his way to make this a pleasant experience for us. It felt like a specialty store for mattresses! We wanted to take a day or two to mull things over and we returned the next day. This time we were helped by Dan B. He made a quick call to Mike who was off that day and processed our sale. Mike was true to his word and made time for us even on his day off! Our lives have been much better since our purchase and our refreshed backs have put us back on track! We told our friends and family members about our great experience at this store and in particular our mattress purchase. We are happy that we have found MORE than a subtle replacement for Sleepys. Growing up on Long Island, Sleepys is all we knew. I'm writing this review to help others who might be in a similar predicament and are looking for a replacement...my advice is to look to another Long Island institution: PC Richard & Son! This was the first time I have been to this particular PC Richards. I was in the market to replace a very old air conditioner before the summer starts, and at the same time my TV died and I was unable to repair. I have been working with a particular salesman over the past few years, Mike T, as I have been replacing aging appliances from a competitor. Mike T was at a different location for my prior purchases, however I felt due to his outstanding customer service I would take the short drive to see how he could help. Once again he goes above and beyond to make sure I am happy, he always gives me options, never forces me. On more than one occasion he even sold me a cheaper item then the one I was looking at based on his experience of the products and value of the products. (Those products are all running very well 6months to 1 + years) On prior installations Mike always remains in contact prior and post sale to make sure I am satisfied. I did have one installation problem once and Mike got is solved to my satisfaction. In the end the decision is always mine and he is very fair with prices and works with me to get me the best deal/value for what I need. I also met the store manager, Dan B. during my visit. He like Mike wanted to make sure I was happy with my purchases. I witnessed Dan welcome customers, and interact with his employees to answer questions. Dan thanked me for my business and said to call with any problems or questions. I will update the review again once installation is completed, but purchase and customer experience was 5 star all the way!!! Thank you Mike T and Dan -------- Update as A/C unit was delivered and installed. Keep in mind I replaced an A/C in the wall that was 25-30 years old and I also replaced it with a much larger unit. The opening had to be made bigger, brick was cut away to make opening big enough to fit new A/C. Received a call the day prior to confirm, morning of delivery I received a call with a time frame and the installers arrived during that time frame. Not an easy job, but they did a very good job, clean up was average, it would have been nice if they took away brick they had to cut off, but old A/C was hauled away. $20 to add molding was a no brainer. Visited the Greenvale location this evening. Wanted to purchase a new refrigerator. Waited 15 minutes, no salespeople approached me. Perfectly understandable, it was a busy Tuesday night before Thanksgiving. I went up to the cashier - customer window, there was a lady busy cleaning with clorox wipes, I asked her politely if anyone could help me with the purchase of a refrigerator, she responded in a blunt way 'wait to a salesperson is available.' Never looked up or even acknowledged me. Didn't get to buy that refrigerator after all, I guess there is always tomorrow. read more

I've purchased appliances from this PC Richards for the last 15 years. Our fridge, stove and other appliances all came from the Greenvale location. Most recently, we purchased a wall oven. The salesperson, Chris Peacock, was knowledgeable and helpful. When I found a lower price, he worked with his management to meet the price. He was easy to work with and I would recommend him highly. The experience of getting the product delivered and installed was not enjoyable. The unit was missing pieces on delivery. I purchased a range hood at the same time as the oven. It was supposed to be delivered and installed separately. There were several calls from PC Richards to confirm the delivery and install. Then the day of the install another call to confirm delivery and let me know that the installation was not included on the work order. After having to go back and forth, they finally realized it had to be installed as well. Still waiting on the missing piece from the wall oven though. Overall good buying process but unenjoyable delivery process. I would return because of Chris but not happy overall with entire customer experience. read more

We had a great experience buying a GE Profile gas stove just before Thanksgiving and having it delivered the next day which was the day before Thanksgiving! We love the stove and the salesman, Chris Gabriel, was great! The installation was done by a private contractor recommended by Chris so we could get the necessary immediate delivery. No problems at all! He came within an hour of the delivery and instructed us on the details of the stove and how to use it We were able to start cooking for Thanksgiving that evening and raved to all our friends about PC Richards. BUT...last week we purchased a Bosch dishwasher, also from the Greenvale PC Richards, again with Chris Gabriel as our salesman. All went well and the dishwasher was delivered 4 days later (by a store installer this time). Unfortunately the installer, whose # is 3038, failed to remove the plastic wrap film over the stainless steel door, and did not even tell us about it! We only discovered it this morning, after we ran dishes through for the first time last night. This morning we puzzled over what looked like melted and then dried glue around the door handle panel. After we figured out what it was, it took about 20 minutes to pry the film off the entire outside of the stainless steel door. It was especially hard to get at the hinges; obviously the film should have been removed before the unit was installed. Now I'm not so sure about recommending PC Richards to people who are shopping for appliances, unless they use an outside installer, which does add to the cost. read more

We bought a kitchen aid dishwasher along with 8,000 of other appliances. We have had this repaired 3x. Still not working. Yesterday, a repair person was supposed to show up and what a surprise, no one came. We purchased the full warranty but if they have to come 3x or not show up, what's the point? I really had no idea that Yelp gave the opportunity to review electronics stores; i would've jumped on for a review right after my visit. I recently went in to get a new AC; I use mine year-round & my room is situated on a side of the house that doesn't get much in the way of natural breezes. I was quickly greeted by one of your employees, Chris, who gave me a couple of options based on my room size and general wants. He was really knowledgable of the different models, something I appreciated as that's why we still go to stores and look for a person instead of machine. I ended up deciding to do a little more research as that's just my personality when making these types of purchases, but I'd absolutely head over here again and look for Chris to take care of my order. Well, being in the market for a new mattress, I went to the PC Richards in Greenvale. I don't write a lot of reviews, but after such a positive experience I wanted to tell others about it. The selection and pricing are great. But what really made the difference was my salesperson June. She was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. At no time did I feel pressured into a sale.
