This was the worst small business I have ever worked it. They never came for the first appointment, no call no nothing. I called and left a message asking if anyone was coming or to at least let me know, so I wasn't waiting. Nearly 2 hours after my time frame I got a call back saying they can't come, and the next opening wasn't for a month. The next morning I was happy to get a call at 6 am saying there was an opening at 8 am that day. So I said yes !! The guy wasn't on time again. No call to say he was running behind. Once here I was told the groupon I bought doesn't cover most everything. And I would need to pay more. " 149.00 for the whole thing" on top of the 45.00 groupon. I agreed and he started working. He didn't seem very professional, and a bit scatter brained. He said the machine would suck everything out, and not leave a mess. I wasn't told how long the job would take nor, that it was so loud we had to sit out side. I'm near my due date for a baby and sitting in the heat with my 4 yr old wasn't ideal. I came in for a drink and saw my doors while open. I asked if he saw the cat. " nope" the indoor only cat was let out. Lucky I found him next door. And locked him up. At the end of the 3 hours! he said he wasn't even able to get to do the dryer, that he would have to come back. At the end of everything I was informed they don't take card payments . .. That's all I have to pay with. He was again all scattered and said a guy would call to work it out he had to go. And ran off. Once he left I noticed huge dust clumps everywhere in my house. And a layer of thin dust on everything. And I mean everything, all over my new baby crib, dresser, dinner table. I must have taken 10 pictures showing all the dirt, dead flys, crayons and such that was bad enough it was in my air ducts, but now it was all over my just washes hardwood floors. When I had my husband call the guy to ask about clean up, the guy lost it! Started telling my husband, he was going to take us to court, and the job was a set up?? And then hung up and wouldn't answer his phone. Not even to take payment?? Finally after I left a confused voice mail I got a text back saying , he would NOT be coming back to finish the job and he would knock 49.00 off and told me that is my "PAY" to clean the mess up my self, ( 8months pregnant) ! Very bad business, unprofessional, unclean, just over all a bad deal. Nothing about that service made me happy. I would have rather paid more. And had it done by a well spoken, uniformed dress company that would do clean up that I felt was a safe company. I don't feel safe with them coming to my home. read more

If I could rate this with zero stars, I would! This guy was hard to get a hold of in the first place, then never showed up and rescheduled multiple times. The last time he didn't show up I called him & he said he had me scheduled for another day. I told him I would like a refund since it had been weeks and I had not recieved the service. Super Shady!!! Avoid these guys, no matter what you do. We found a coupon online for Duct Cleaning with Gem State Duct Cleaning... it was such a good deal, we should have known it was too good to be true. This company didn't even bother showing up, of course looking at the other people who have received their services, it seems like we might have lucked out. 10 minutes prior to our scheduled appointment I received a call from a technician, who said he wasn't even with Gem State, but that he was "helping his friend." He told me right off the bat that the coupon we purchased wouldn't do the job, without even looking at our home or system. He told me we would need to pay at least an additional $150 to get the job done right. He spent several minutes trying to upsell me and even had the gall to tell me that doing business this way was the best way for him to get clients. There was no mention of this during the time I scheduled my appointment three weeks before. He blamed the owners of Gem State, he blamed the online coupon company, he blamed the cost of living, the cost of gas, everything but himself. He didn't bother taking responsibility for doing a shady business and trying to upcharge us on the back end. He even tried to tell me about what a straight laced, Mormon raised man he was. After all of his excuses, I told him that I would check with my husband on how he wanted to proceed since he was the one waiting at home for him to come, (when he could have been working). The technician said he would call my husband as well. Not only did he not call him, but I tried to call the technician back, but there was no answer. I had Gem State Duct Cleaning do a service in my small condo in Boise. They were supposed to leave a receipt upon completing. They did not. They have cashed my check and two weeks of begging I can still not get them to provide me with a paid invoice so that I can close on this property. I have left several messages and text the gentleman that performed the service. As of 10/15/2016 I am now being threatened by Mike M below to remove my review or I will Be contacted by an attorney. I live in Twin Falls but own property in Boise- I stand by my review and experience and would be happy to speak with the owner of the company if he would like to speak with me regarding my experience. read more

I bought a Groupon for this service and he came out and said it's a waste of time for him to do just what the groupon said and that for $200 more he'd do a better job. I told him I'd talk to my husband first and get quotes and he just left without doing any thing and won't return any of my calls. Hired Gem State and he calls the night before saying his machine broke We rescheduled for the next week and he didn't show. Called him and he says he must have double booked and I wasn't on the schedule. Rescheduled again and I called him the night before to confirm. He reports he will be there. Day comes and he doesn't show AGAIN! no phone call or anything. Tried to call him, no answer. Tells me when I called the night before that the introductory offer on groupon was just to get him out here, then he can sell an upgrade. I told him I just wanted the service I bought. This man is a waste of your time and money. EXTREMELY unprofessional, a hard sell (I had a groupon valued at $250 and he kept saying it was worthless unless I paid him $200), was late to not one but TWO appointments. The first of which he TEXTED me and cancelled after almost 45 minutes of waiting. Imagine if it wasn't a cell phone number I'd given him. When he does clean your vents its with a TINY shop vac and all he does it stick the nozzle part of the way in. I could have done a better and efficient job with my vacuum. I had our ducts done today and no receipt was given. Gentleman stated he would send via email and I have yet to receive it. He didn't except credit/debit card, so paid cash. No credit for my Groupon and now my A/C isn't cooling my house. This is not a way to conduct business and I would never refer them to anyone for their poor service. read more

Found a Groupon for these guys to clean my tenant's air ducts. Bought it without much thought or review. Turns out I should have read some reviews. I have now found very little positive review of them and mine is just as disappointing as others. This guy told me over the phone that he expected I'd need more than I purchased. I told him all I wanted was the basic service that I paid for. He rescheduled once because his vehicle broke down and "showing up in his Mustang (or whatever fancy car he was touting) wasn't professional." He showed up at the new appointment time and pressured my tenant into upgrading to other services. She declined and told him he'd have to talk to me further. He left without doing the paid for service and hasn't responded to my inquiries since. He's been doing these through Groupon for at least a couple of years now and continues to get negative reviews. I hope Groupon will cut him off. Terrible service. Obviously not recommended. read more
